Nigeria Union of Pensioners in Katsina State has urged Governor Umar Dikko-Radda to pay gratuities of pensioners screened from 2019 to date.
Chairman, Surajo Abdu, spoke with News Agency of Nigeria yesterday in Katsina.
He appealed to the governor to conclude the screening of those yet to be captured.
Surajo advised the new administration to review the pension paid to retirees in line with the law that required such review every five years.
“May Allah continue to guide and protect the new administration in its duties,” he prayed.
He recalled the former administration of Aminu Masari made efforts in settling entitlements of pensioners, including gratuities.
“We commend former Governor Masari for the compassion shown to affairs of pensioners,” Surajo added.
