Barely seven days after some robbers attacked empty bullion in Owo, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State robbers have attacked another bullion van in Ondo State.

In July, a bullion van was attacked in Ondo Town and in May, two persons were killed when robbers robbed a bullion van at Elemosho Village along Akure-Ondo Highway in Ondo East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Three people, including a mobile policeman, were attacked in yesterday’s attack that occurred at a village close to Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area.

The van was said to be coming from the Benin axis of the Benin-Lagos Highway and heading to Araromi Obu in Odigbo Local Government Area.

Ondo police spokesman, Fumilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the attack, said two persons were killed in the incident.

Odunlami identified those killed as a policeman and driver of the bullion van.

She said security personnel have been deployed to the area, adding that investigation has commenced.
