Rotary Club of Satellite Town, Lagos, has planted over 200 trees and flowers in compliance with the ongoing Planet Earth Project, organised by the club.
The tree planting was done in District 9110 at the Nigeria Navy Primary School, Navy Town, Satellite Town, Lagos.
The project was witnesses by dignitaries, including Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, the Sarki of Alimosho and his entourage, past presidents, members of the Nigerian Navy, Rotarians and members of the Red Cross Society. Pupils, management and workers of the Nigeria Navy Primary School were also in attendance.
There was a lecture on the ‘Importance of Tree Planting in our Community’, delivered by Lt. A. A Aku.
He said tree planting is important because it protects the mother earth and beautifies the school and the community.
The Chairman of the tree planting project, Vera Nwagu, expressed delight about the success of the exercise.
