The Rotary Club of Onigbogbo has donated some food items to Red Cross Motherless and Abandoned Babies’ Home, Lagos Branch.

They include a bag of rice, cartons of milk, noodle, tubers yam, fruit juice, and groundnut oil.

It also promised to train two pupils of the home.

Making the donation at Makoko, the club’s President, James Olajide Ajayi, said their aim was to assist the children of the home.

He said the move tallied with one of Rotary’s six focal areas, which is assisting humanity.

He said the club would continue to help the Home, urging the management to always come forward with their areas of need.

Red Cross Lagos Branch Executive Secretary Olakunle Lasisi thanked Rotary for the gesture.

He said it was not the first time that the club was donating to the Home.

He recalled some years ago, it also gave them an undisclosed cheque.

“The first time I came to your secretariat was when I came to collect a cheque. This was in 2016. We pray that the club will continue to wax stronger as you serve humanity.

“People have been calling. They want to tap into what you are doing. Thank you,” he said.
