Former Kano State Governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, yesterday in Kano, asked the Police authorities to quiz Senator Danjuma Goje on how he (Goje) came about a document on the alleged assassination of renowned Kano Islamic scholar, Sheikh Jaafar Adam.
“We would be glad, if the Police Force could quiz Senator Goje on how he got the document hidden over the years, as well as make more clarification, regarding the source and credibility of the document ,” Shekarau’s media aide,Ghali Sadiq told reporters in Kano.
The document, according to Sadiq is a personal opinion, orchestrated and circulated to the public 10 years ago “in an attempt to tarnish the image and good reputation of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau in his bid to contest second term governorship election in the state.”
He ‘passionately’ appealed to the police to “make public its findings on the report, regarding the controversial assassination in 2007, which we believe exonerated the former Governor of any complicity.”
The document is one of the items which the police reportedly found at Goje’s Abuja residence during a raid earlier in the week.
Shekarau reiterated his commitment to selfless service to the country at all times , lamenting that the mischievous acts against him would not in any way deter him from being forthright. He appealed to his supporters to remain calm.
