The sit-at-home exercise ordered by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) recorded major casualties in Enugu State as no fewer than three policemen were reportedly killed on Monday.
It was not clear whether the policemen were killed by gunmen or by accident.
However, they were said to have been killed in various parts of the state metropolis.
Sources told our correspondent that one policeman was killed near CBN along Okpara Avenue and two at Mgbeme area of Coal Camp all in Enugu North.

One of the sources said: “I saw a police patrol van with blue colour parked near CBN along Okpara Avenue. Beside it was a mobile policeman lying in a pool of his blood. I don’t know what exactly happened but the body was still lying there.”
Although the details of the killings of the policemen were scanty, the State Police Command could not confirm the incident.
When spokesman of the Command, Daniel Ndukwe, was contacted on the telephone, he declined to comment.
He later sent text message that read: “I need to verify that first, please” that was around 12:24 pm.
But he did not return the call as earlier promised.
