Twenty two COVID-19 patients have been discharged from isolation centre in Sokoto.

Announcing the development on Tuesday in Sokoto, Commissioner of Health, Dr. Muhammad Ali Inname, said the patients were discharged from two isolation facilities.

Inname, who is also the Chairman of the State Task Force on COVID-19 explained 19 patients had been discharged after they were certified free from the virus.

“This brings to 41 the total number of COVID-19 patients out of 176 cases, so far discharged by the Task Force,” he emphasised.

Describing the current discharges as “the highest so far achieved by the state,” the Commissioner reiterated that “being COVID-19 isn’t a death sentence in any way.”
