A commercial taxi driver, Abdullahi Sadiq Karafa, has been reportedly beaten to death by some military personnel for allegedly violating the curfew imposed by the Plateau State Government.
It was gathered Kafara was apprehended at Farin Gada axis in Jos North local government area by military personnel on duty for allegedly driving during the curfew on Friday night.
According to source, Kafara was reportedly beaten with stick after he was ordered to step down from his car by the officers.
Sources also hinted the soldiers allegedly called his relatives in the morning and ordered them to take the corpse of Kafara to the morgue.
The victim was thereafter brought to Katako Police Station where it was discovered the resident of Angwan Rimi had four kids, one wife and an ailing mother.

Confirming the incident, military information officer, Major Ishaku Tarka, in a statement titled: “Alleged murder of taxi driver by personnel” explained: “Operation SAFE HAVEN received with shock a report of security personnel of OPSH deployed at Farin Gada beat and murdered a commercial taxi driver Mr Abdullahi Karafa.
“Immediately the report was received, the commander Operation SAFE HAVEN Major General Ibrahim Ali visited the deceased family and condoled them over the unfortunate incidence.
“The commander has since constituted a board of inquiry to unravel those behind the heinous act.
“He assured that those who would be found culpable will be made to face the full wrath of the law.”
