The South West states are well prepared for the maiden edition of the Western Nigeria Football Forum/ Taiwo Ogunjobi Memorial U-15 Football Tournament, organizers have revealed.
The tournament will be played between Tuesday, August 16, and Sunday, August 21, 2022, with the award ceremony holding in the evening of the final as some sports administrators within the southwest and in Nigeria at large will be given awards of excellence.
it is revealed that Oyo State has completed its screening exercise for the state representatives and has commenced training in earnest, while Lagos and Ekiti football associations have standby teams that will represent them. Ondo and Osun FAs are also making plans to produce formidable teams for the competition.
Speaking on the preparations, the Oyo State FA Secretary, Mr. Kehinde Ojelowo said: “we have conducted our screening exercises, what we are focused on m now is proper and adequate training. I will say we are fully ready.”
The Ogun State FA chairman Ganiyu Majekodunmi said that the state team has commenced training for the past five weeks, adding that they are fully ready and prepared for the tournament.
