Justice K. B. Olawoyin presiding over Court 8, Oyo State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan, has fixed January 13 to deliver ruling on the bail application filed by Olori Naomi Silekunola, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat and Abdulahi Fasasi.
Naomi is the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and runs Wing Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO). Hazmat is the proprietor of an Ibadan-based radio station, Agidigbo FM, while Fasasi is the principal, Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan
The trio are facing trial, following the death of 35 children as a result of stampede at Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan. The event was organised by Naomi’s Wings Foundation, while Hamzat’s radio station, Agidigbo FM, promoted the event.
Applications for their bail were heard at Oyo State High Court, Court 8, Ring Road, Ibadan, yesterday.
Counsel for the suspects had filed summon of application for bail before the court.

The suspects are being remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Centre Agodi, Ibadan.
Fasasi was represented by Waheed Olajide, ex-queen Naomi was represented by Musibau Adetunmbi (SAN) and Hamzat was represented by Adekunle Sobaloju (SAN).
The cases were argued separately by the lawyers in a proceeding that lasted over five hours.
The state had also filed a counter application against the bail of the suspects.
The state Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Mr Abiodun Aikomo, led top officials of the Ministry of Justice in the prosecution.
All the counsel in their arguments told the court why their clients should be allowed to enjoy their freedom, noting that there were no sufficient evidence before the court to warrant their confining to prison custody.
