Stella Monye’s son still needs help

Remember Ibrahim Oyenmaechi Amusan, songstress Stella Monye’s only son? Since May, last year,  he has been at NYU Langone Health, New York in the United States (U.S.), doing corrective surgeries to make him whole again.

But  Ibrahim still needs about N50 million, to fund an extensive health care, now extending to two years, from an earlier projected one-year stay in America for surgery and post-surgery care.

Ibrahim’s latest round of expenditure, surgeries etc. had cost some $40,000 (about N14 million), raised from loans, public donations and the sale of prized family possessions by his mother.

Although his condition has stabilised; and he is much more hopeful of getting well, the procedures, complex and delicate, were not entirely a success, leading to the major one, which lasted nine hours, to be re-addressed due to complications.

To fund this extended treatment, The Nation is relaunching a N50 million appeal for Ibrahim, to which we are soliciting for generous donations.
