‘STEM education key for Africa’s growth’

AFRICA will need to emphasise on STEM education to drive its development, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), Carisma4U, has said.

The NGO’s vision is to transform learning with STEM towards poverty eradication.

Carisma4U is holding an online conference to discuss key concerns around education to chart the way forward.

Its founder, Adetola Salau, an engineer, said: “If Africa will compete meaningfully this decade, we must emphasis STEM education more than ever before.”

He said industry experts would speak at the two-day conference, which began yesterday.  The conference has the theme: STEM the equaliser: Setting the education threshold for a post COVID-19 relevance and significance in Africa.”
