Operatives of the Kwara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ((NSCDC) in collaboration with the local hunters and vigilance group members have arrested one Abdulkadir Doogo (23) for allegedly attacking a vigilante group member in Kwara community with machetes.
The Nation learnt the incident happened in Obbo-Ile, Ekiti local government area of Kwara state on Monday.
The suspect said to be a herder is from Omu-Aran, Irepodun local government area of the state.
The incident had thrown the community in an uproar, as the suspected herders armed with dangerous weapons allegedly ambushed members of the vigilance group on patrol around 8:30 pm in the community.

The Nation gathered that members of the vigilance team were of Obbo-Ile- Isapa axis when they were attacked by machete-wielding herdsmen.
The herdsmen were said to have inflicted deep machete cuts on one Mashud Taye.
NSCDC’s Spokesperson in the state, Babawale Afolabi said “on Monday, November 22, 2021, two armed herdsmen attacked a vigilante team of the Obbo-Ile community who were on a routine patrol and left one of them with a serious injury as a result of the machete attacks.
“The other herdsman is still at large and efforts are ongoing to capture him while the victim is responding to treatment in the hospital.”
