Synagogue: Ondo, Ekiti, Osun members back TB Joshua’s wife

Members of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) and Emmanuel TV partners in Ondo, Osun and Ekiti states have supported the wife of the late Prophet Temitope Joshua, Evelyn, as the new leader of the church.

SCOAN founder Prophet Temitope Joshua, also known as TB Joshua, suddenly died in June without naming a successor.

Crisis erupted in the church when some members of SCOAN, under the auspices of Global Congress of SCOAN Members (GCSM), rejected the emergence of Evelyn as the church leader.

Members of GCSM said Evelyn was never anointed as a pastor, adding that the late founder’s last wish was for one of his anointed disciples to take charge of the church.

But the SCOAN members in Ondo, Osun and Ekiti states, who spoke at a news briefing in Akure, disowned members of the GCSM, saying they were being used by the disciples cabal.

Dr. Francis Bamidele, who read a statement on behalf of members from the three states, said Evelyn was being fought because she opposed “this looting spree and authoritative impunity being perpetrated by the cabal disciples, some of whom have been sent packing.”

He said: “We members and partners of the ministry in Ondo, Ekiti and Osun states therefore debunk this falsehood and declare our support for the emergence of anointed Prophetess Evelyn Joshua, the wife of Prophet TB Joshua, as the leader and arrowhead of SCOAN and Emmanuel TV, having been legitimately confirmed and pronounced by the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.

“The acclaimed Global Congress Group and its so-called members are not known to us in Akure. No genuine members and partners have ever come across this acclaimed group called Global Congress and its members in several church programmes and activities conducted in Akure or in Lagos church auditorium in the last 20 years.

“However, investigations showed that the acclaimed Global Congress Group is not unconnected to the cabal disciples of Prophet TB Joshua, who upon the passing on to glory by the cleric on June 5, connived and diverted several billions of Naira of the church funds into their personal accounts and looted the treasury of the church with impunity.”

“Because it was no longer business like before, the cabals became aggrieved and resorted to a battle, using every propaganda weapon to fight the new leader of SCOAN. It will interest you to know that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is already investigating the financial misappropriation of these former disciples.

“It is really sad and disheartening that these former disciples, who came wretched with their families, seeking spiritual and financial help from Prophet TB Joshua several years ago, have turned around in connivance and become a thorn to the wife of the man who sacrificed so much spiritually and financially to bring them up.

“The public is therefore advised to disregard and jettison such divisive statements from the disgruntled entities in whatever form or disguise under whatever propaganda weapon.”
