  • Update: APC wins 14 LGs, PDP 1 in Kebbi

    Official governorship election results declared in Kebbi State so far, show that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Atiku Bagudu, is far ahead of his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, Gen. Sarkin Yaki Bello in 14 Local Government Areas.

    PDP has only won in Bagudo LGA so far.

    Kebbi comprises 21 LGAs.

    The results officially declared are as follows:

    APC’s Alhassan leads in five local councils of Taraba

    The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Taraba state Aisha Jumai Alhassan is leading in the governorship results of five local government councils so far released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

    According to the results, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan polled aggregate votes of 111,964, PDP’s Darius Ishaku polled 94,218 votes while SDP candidate, David Sabo Kente polled 4,059 votes so far.

    Breakdown of the results include Jalingo (APC-37714; PDP-19047; SDP-1282); Ardo Kola (APC-13,042; PDP-14,041; SDP-662); Lau (APC-13,096; PDP-20,598; SDP-613); Gassol (APC-42888; PDP-12527; SDP-827) and Zing (APC-5,224; PDP-28,005; SDP-675).

    Results for the remaining 11 local government areas are still being awaited at the INEC collation centre, Jalingo.

    Shettima maintains lead in Borno

    Borno state governor Kashim Shettima of the APC has maintain a steady lead in the 16 local government areas so far declared by INEC.

    The remaining 11 local government are still been awaited at the collation centre at the INEC state headquarter in Maiduguri.

    Results brought from 16 local governments to the INEC collation centre as at press time show Gov Kashim  Shettima leading the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alh Gambo Lawan.

    The Results released so far are as follows:

    Mafa APC 10,734, PDP 059,Nganzal APC 3696 PDP 74, Kukawa APC 12,486 PDP 293, Dikwa APC 11,168 PDP 210, Kala Balge 10 474 PDP 068, Kaga APC 10414 PDP 105, Guzamala APC 8361 PDP 012, Magunmeri APC 10038, PDP 384, Bayo APC 17968  PDP 1985 and K/ Kuzar APC 18678 PDP 1620

    Other results are; Gubio APC 11487 PDP 107, Abadam APC 7070 PDP 061, Marte APC 6388 PDP 301, Mobbar APC 6979 PDP 218‎, Monguno APC 9840 PDP 031 and Askira/Uba APC 26,313 PDP 2023 respectively.

    Kaduna: Yero concedes defeat, calls El-Rufai‎

    Kaduna State Governor and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday’s gubernatorial election, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has conceded defeat to his opponent, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of All Progressives Congress (APC).

    Governor Yero called El-Rufai at exactly 3:00pm on Sunday, even when results from four local government areas were still being expected from the Independent National Electoral  Commission’s headquarters in Kaduna.

    The Spokesperson of El-Rufai Campaign organisation, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed that Yero called to concede defeat and congratulate El-Rufai at about 3:00pm.‎

    Aruwan said, “He (Governor Yero)  congratulated El-Rufai and wish him success, he prayed for peace and development of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.

    “El-Rufai in his response thanked Yero and wished him all the best, saying, he hope to see him soon.” ‎

    Kwara state Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the last Saturday election is coasting home victory.

    He is leading in the results of all 14 local government areas so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

    Kwara state has 16 local government areas.

  • Ogun Speaker retains seat, Deputy out

    • APC wins 17 seats of state Assembly, PDP nine

     

    All Progressives Congress (APC) won 17 seats of the state House of Assembly while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won nine.

    The Speaker, Prince Suraj Adekumbi (APC), retained his Yewa North 1 Constituency while his Deputy, Tola Banjo (APC), lost his Ijebu – Ode state constituency seat to Wale Alausa.

    Hon.Alausa who occupied the seat from 2007 to 2011 and was buffetted by not a small political turbulence.

    Areas where APC secured seats are Obafemi Owode, Abeokuta South 1, Abeokuta South 11, Abeokuta North, Ewekoro, Odeda, Ikenne, Ifo 1, Ifo 11, Odognolu, Remo North, Ijebu North 11,  Sagamu 1, Ado/Odo/Ota 1, Ado/Odo/Ota 11,  Ogun Watetside and Yewa North.

    The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured nine drawn from Ijebu North East, Ijebu – Ode, Imeko – Afon, Yewa South, Ijebu North 1, Sagamu 11, Ipokia/Idiroko, Ijebu East and Yewa North11.

    Al -Makura ahead in Nasarawa

    Nasarawa state governor, Tanko Al- Makura has taken an early lead in the results announced Sunday morning by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lafia, the state capital.

    The governor is ahead of the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and former minister of Information, Labaran Maku as well as the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Yusuf Agabi in four out of 13 local government announced so far.
