    Tornadoes won’t underrate opponents-Adebayo

Niger Tornadoes centre-back Abiodun Adebayo expects a tough encounter when his side lock horns with Heartland at the Dan Anyiam Stadium this weekend.

The Naze Millionaires are neck-deep in relegation troubles this term, and Adebayo believes the Owerri-based outfit will be no pushovers.

“This is certain to be another tough match for us,” Adebayo told Goal.

In my opinion, Heartland aren’t a pushover.

“They’ve been a little bit unfortunate with a couple of their results, which drew them into the relegation zone, so we are expecting probably one of the toughest games of our season.

“They are a team that’s fighting to get out of the bottom spot, they don’t deserve to be there either.

“This is also probably their last chance to get out of there, so we’ve really gotta be up to it.

“We won’t go down either,” he concluded.

Tornadoes head out for a win as they seek to keep their survival chances afloat, having amassed 45 points to sit in 11th place on the table.

In a recent interview, when asked if he sees colleague Adekola as his rival in the movie industry, Femi said; “Odunlade Adekola is one of my very good friends. We don’t see ourselves as rivals. Outside our profession, we see, we talk, we relate, we rub minds; we even share ideas regarding how to live our private lives. That automatically negates the word rivalry you are talking about. We are not rivals, we are friends, and we are colleagues. We do our things, and our fans appreciate us.”

  • Adebayo backs Fayemi for second term

Southwest All Progressives Congress (APC) Interim Chairman Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo has endorsed Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi for a second term, saying that he has lived up to expectation.

He said: “I know the person I will vote for in 2014. I Richard Adeniyi Adebayo will vote for Fayemi. I will go round Ekiti and mobilise and canvass for votes for him”.

He spoke at the inauguration of the Ikogosi Warm Spring Redevelopment, Ikogosi-Ekiti. Highlights of the events, which marked the third anniversary of the Fayemi Administration, included the presentation of the governor’s book and decoration of Ekiti State cultural ambassadors.

The former governor, who chaired the ceremony, reflected on the tragedy of governance in the ‘Fountain of Knowledge, recalling that the state suffered when the progressive administration was cut short by the conservative interlopers.

Adebayo described Fayemi as his successor in Ekitiland, urging the people to endorse his second term ambition. He said, if a progressive governor had succeeded him in 2003, Ekiti would have enjoyed more dividends of democracy.

Lauding the administration for developing arts and tourism, the former governor said: “The vision we had for Ikogosi, the administration that manipulated us out of office did not have it”.

He added: “My successor in office is John Kayode Fayemi. he is manifesting the vision of the progressives; the vision of those who love Ekiti”.
