    Akpororo wonders why Police haven’t questioned anyone over MohBad

    Comedian Akpororo has queried the police over investigation of Mohbad’s death.

    Feeling that the principal law enforcement agency was dragging its feet about the issue, Akpororo asked why it was yet to invite anyone for questioning.

    He said: “I apologise, you people should be angry. But I have waited long enough. Nigerian police, you dropped something online but I’m yet to understand because I like being sure of a thing before talking.

    “I just want to ask one simple question, why haven’t they started calling people in for questioning? That’s what I’m concerned about; about Mohbad death.

    “Or am I talking too much? Or is my reasoning going haywire? Come, it was a human being that died. Why haven’t they started calling people for questioning? Or am I overreacting?

    “Nigerian Police, I don’t just talk nor follow trends but why haven’t you begun questioning people over Mohbad’s death?”

    The police on Thursday assured Nigerians it would conduct thorough investigation into the death of MohBad.

  • Akprororo fires back at Daddy Freeze over `low turnout’ at show

    Comedian Akpororo has hit back on OAP personality Daddy freeze for taunting him over the low turnout of people at his Comedy show titled `Akpororo Live on Stage.’

    Akpororo held a comedy gig at his neighbourhood in Okokomaiko on May 4, Lagos.

    A video however surfaced online showing organisers slashing ticket price and at some point making the show ‘free’ due to ‘low turn-out’.

    Daddy Freeze, who once had a fall-out with Akpororo over paying of ‘tithes’ reacted to the video.

    “Wasn’t this the same comedian that insulted me and called me a wall gecko at the House of the Rock experience last December? Has his tithe stopped working for him or did he miss paying his tithe for a month?’’, Daddy freeze said.

    Akpororo, in his response posted a video on Instagram with the caption.

    “I still pay my tithe and it is still working for me man! Ehnnn Daddy Freeze look the picture na better show I get yesterday and people full am. Ewo ewooo you be elderly person na, you be elderly person na. Guy get sense, get sense” Akpororo blatantly said in his video.

  • Akpororo, others for Oyiko’s comedy show

    Ace comedian Akpororo and other comedians are slated for the second edition of Oyiko Unscripted The Ribs & Rhythm which holds on Sunday, November 18 at Kelly Ann Event Centre, Akowonjo Road, Egbeda, Lagos.
    Aside Akpororo, others expected to perform at the event which begins at 4pm include Frank Onero, Ajele, Koffi Tha Guru, Mc Shaggi and Mc Danfo.
    Others include Davidsyn, Ibrolee, Mc Kefas, Edondo, Mc Martins, Ovir De Generous, Goodguy, Mr Tablet, Mc Plentymouth, Sherikoko, Freemouth, Mc Ability, Jakes, Gbidigbidi, Mc Nwaimo, Mc Petoski, Mc Smart Naija, Markowi, Arokpokpo, Mc Topsy, Oluche and Mc Package.

  • Akpororo, Kenny Blaq, others for Naija Fm’s 7th anniversary

    PLANS are in full gear for the 7th Edition of the Naija FM Comedy Jam and Award Night for the year 2018. Comedians and musicians including Akpororo, Gordons, Bow Joint, Kenny Blaq, Timaya, Kcee, Falz, Mayourkun, Slimcase, Jo el, Niniola, Seyi Shey, Orezi, Koko Pee, Aunty Rayzor and Pasuma are billed to entertain guests at the event which will hold on Sunday 4th of November, 2018 at the Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos at 6pm.

    The announcement was made by the Programs Director of the popular indigenous Radio station, Osamoje Isaac, during a week-long celebration to mark the “eighth anniversary” of Naija FM 102.7.

    As part of Naija fm’s anniversary celebrations, the On Air Personalities had hit the streets on a CSR drive, controlling traffic in different parts of Lagos State. Osamoje Isaac had stated that “the essence of the week long traffic control drive was to enable its teeming listeners feel the pulse of the personalities they interact with on a daily basis on their favourite radio station”

    The categories as tradition for the Comedy Jam and Award Night are for Online Comedian of the year include; Sitcom of the year; Comedian of the year; Most promising Comedian of the year; Comedy actor of the Year; Most Fashionable Comedian of the Year; Comedy Club of the year and Best Comedy Show of the Year.

    According to organizers, one of the Highpoints of the night will be the presentation of the prestigious Hall Of Fame Award to be awarded to an icon in the industry.

  • Mama G, Akpororo, others star in ‘Boss of All Bosses’

    Akpororo, Mama G, Nedu and Bishop Ime will be starring in a new comedy film, ‘Boss of All Bosses,’ slated for release in cinemas from June 15, 2018.

    Directed by Ike Nnaebue with Emeka Kachikwu as the Executive producer/producer and Tobe Osuno as the Associate producer, the movie also stars Senator (Bethel Njoku), Emeka Kachikwu, Adunni Ade, Sani Danja, Eniola Badmus and Babatunde Charles.

    The movie tells the story of Tony, a classy, ego tripping, self-centered, arrogant M.D at Hemcorps Oil & Gas. In the light of an absentee CEO whose identity remains hidden, he abuses his powers and becomes the perfect ladies’ man. His loyal PA at his beck and call acts as his informant unveiling sizzling news unfolding in the company. He is living life to the fullest and nicknamed The Boss of all bosses, until Samuel is brought on-board as a Rival M.D at the CEO’s request. Special tasks are assigned to both as they compete for the exalted position deploying every trick in the scheming book to win or be fired. The employees are caught in the middle and camps are formed, alliances are made amidst the backdrop of comical scheming, romantic escapades and betrayal. Tony is fighting hard to win the affection of the slay Queen he’s dying for while focusing on the tasks but a bad move he makes threatens his ambition and sets him on course for what he never bargained.

    “I’m delighted that we have a good production with high end technical values synonymous with international standard,” said Kachikwu.

    And Osuno said: “The story though told in a comical way is invariably a true reflection of what obtains in the corporate environment. It’s a reminder of the corporate gymnastics, power tussle and the reward handed over to deserving employees for their hard work. It is a good movie and we urge folks to come out in mass to watch same.”

    Popular comedian Jephthah Akpororo is in a celebration mood, with the arrival of his twins.

    Akpororo who is holding one of his comedy show in Sapele, Delta State, took to his Instagram to share the good news with his fans, by uploading a video where he is seen celebrating with friends in the traditional way of applying talcum on the body.

    “I done born oo,” he captioned the video.

    Akpororo wedded his wife in 2015 and they now have three children after their first who was born two years ago.

    The comedian has struggled as a young man to utilize the resources gotten from his shows to invest and also complete his home situated on the Island which he unveiled months back.

    It is a new dawn for comedian Jephthah Bowoto, simply called Akpororo, on October 9, 2017, as he unveiled his new house, an event which coincided with his daughter’s birthday.

    The comedian dedicated the new home to his wife and daughter, saying; “Except the Lord builds a house. The labourer labours in vain. Father, thank you for this one. I dedicate this to my wife and daughter”.

    The Airtel ambassador started off as a local gospel musician, and, in 2008, participated in the Opa William’s National Comedy Challenge, winning the Calabar zone of the competition.

    In 2009, Akpororo moved to Lagos and contested twice in the AY’s Open Mic Challenge, coming second in his first attempt and coming tops afterwards. He rose to popularity in 2013 following his performance at “Basketmouth’s Laff and Jam” show.

    In August 2014, he staged his first major comedy show “Akpororo vs Akpororo” at the Shell Hall, MUSON Centre.

    In 2014, Akpororo delved into acting, starring in the films ‘Headgone’ and ‘The Antique’; with the former earning him three nominations at the 2015 Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards.

    Popular comedian Jephthah Bowoto, aka Akpororo, whose birthday coincides with St. Valentine’s Day has seized the opportunity of the day to drop his new single, ‘Make U dab’.

    The comedian who also revealed that he has two more singles to drop, spent the day at the Leisure Mall Cinema, Surulere, Lagos, with his fans, ensuring that the first 160 people watched a movie for free.

    Still on the new single, Akpororo declared a challenge for the video of the song which will be released soon “Make your own video, with the #makeyoudab, I will post all videos for the public to judge and the best will win the cash prize of N300, 000.

    “I am also coming up with two more singles and more things are coming this year. ‘Make U dab’ single is out and I will also be pushing out the video soon, he added.

    Akpororo, a native of Ilaje, Ondo State, is also a vocalist and actor.

    FOR not forgetting his roots, Jephthah Bowoto, aka Akpororo, who has always made it clear he represents the people of Okokomaiko, a Lagos community where he grew up, has been named the Human Right Ambassador for the people he stands for.

    The new title which was recently given to the comedian by the Constitutional Rights Awareness and Liberty Initiative, confirms his status as a voice for the society.

    The comedian whose wife was recently delivered of a baby boy, is also set for the annual gospel concert, Ojo Mega Praise Jamz, billed to hold December 18, at the Starjen International Hotel, Okokomaiko, Lagos.

    Other artistes billed to peform at the show include Chioma Jesus and Frank Edwards.

    Akpororo is a Nigerian stand-up comedian, vocalist and actor.

    Ace comedian Akpororo took to Instagram to serenade his wife on her birthday on Wednesday. The comedian who referred to his lovely wife as ‘the queen of Roro Empire’ waxed spiritual as he heaped blessing on his wife.

    “Happy birthday to my love, my heart and Al,” he posted.

    “I pray that God will bless your new Age, u shall not lack anything good, u shall not die b4 your time.”

    Continuing his post, he also humorously wished the reverse for anyone who had evil plans for her, writing, “And anybody way dey waka for your sake 4 evil, go waka LOSS”.

    Akpororo also enjoined fans to celebrate his wife. As he put it, “From today GOD will bless everything that concerns you because you are a good woman. Please FANS help me celebrate the QUEEN OF RORO EMPIRE.”

    He also promised to pay for the first people at the Leisure Mall Cinema, screen 3 in celebration of his wife. He posted, “I will be paying for the first 50 persons this evening @ leisure mall cinema screen 3 by 6pm. Come join me and the RORO Family as we celebrate my wife the queen of RORO Empire.”
