  • Why I left the APC- Sen. Nwobodo

Former Governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo, says he left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to toe the line already taken by Ohaneze Ndigbo.

Nwobodo, a onetime senator and Sports Minister, announced his return to PDP at a ceremony in his Amechi Awkunanaw country home in Enugu on Friday.

According to him, I have no option than to toe the line already taken by Ohaneze Ndigbo when they had genuine worry about the fate of Ndigbo in Nigeria.

“As you can see, they are here today in a larger number, after their meeting with Ohaneze.

“It is difficult for me to ignore their call and turn my back on them when they have a genuine worry about the fate of Igbos in Nigerian polity.

“I will do the same for any other zone that feels excluded because I am a true Nigerian in all sense of it,” he said.

Nwobodo said he could not pretend that all was well in the country today with the escalating crisis, ranging from the economy, insecurity, tension among the three arms of government comprising executive, legislature and judiciary.

He decried the existence of divisions along tribal and religious lines, and different militant groups arising from the hues and cries of marginalization.

“What we are seeing are symptoms of deep-rooted issues that should be brought to the table for discussions on how to address them.

“I am a democrat and a strong believer in democracy. Those of us who claim to be democrats have a duty to tell the president the truth and advise him appropriately,” he said.

“I was born in Lafia, spent my childhood and my early education there. Thereafter, I moved to Kafanchan in Kaduna state, where I had part of my education before going to University of Ibadan and thereafter taught at Kings College Lagos.

“From Kings College, I went to work for Shell BP in Port Harcourt. I have friends and relationships across all parts of Nigeria.

“As a governor, I worked hard to reconcile the late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who had not sat together since after 1952 as a result of their political difference.

“I succeeded in bringing the two great leaders of blessed memory to my private residence in Enugu and they sat together, had lunch and discussed at length.

“Thereafter they communicated and attended political meetings and rallies together under the Progressive alliance we had in the second republic,” he said.

Nwobodo said at this stage in his life, he saw himself more as an elder statesman than a partisan politician and spoke from the standpoint.

He recalled that he had served the country both at the state and the federal level and in the course of his political journey from second republic till date, had his fair share of ups and downs.

“I made mistakes and learned from my mistakes, I have learned a lot from my experiences and feel qualified to speak on burning issues confronting us as a nation.

“My expectation had been to see an inspiring new hope and values for the younger generation of leaders in our country.

“But a situation where current leaders of political parties and public office holders disparage former presidents and former leaders in the media shows we have learnt nothing from history.

“Is that how we intend to groom and mentor the “not too young to run” and prepare them to take over the mantle of leadership?”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nwobodo was a founding member of the PDP in 1998 but had left the party shortly after it lost power to APC in 2016.

Nwobodo was welcomed back by prominent PDP chieftains including Prof Alphonsus (ABC) Nwosu, Sen. Ben Obi, Chief Simeon Okeke and Oseloka Obazee. (NAN)

  • Sylva leads protest against intimidation of APC

A former Bayelsa State Governor and leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Timipre Sylva, on Friday, led a protest to the state police command against alleged intimidation of his party members in the state.

Sylva, who spoke at the police command headquarters in Yenagoa after meeting with the Commissioner of Police, Aminu Saleh, behind closed doors, said he was concerned about attacks on members of the APC in the state.

The former governor, who was accompanied by a former Deputy Governor, Werinipre Seibarugu, a former Commissioner for Youths, Ibarakumo Otobo, said he was also worried at the destruction of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign materials by thugs suspected to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He said the police in the state had been unable to conclusively investigate the killings of APC members especially in Brass Local Government Area of the state.

He said attempts by the police to arrest the Caretaker Chairman of Brass, Victor Isaiah, for interrogation following the recent killings of APC members in the council, was frustrated by agents of the state government.

Sylva said: “A lot has been happening in Bayelsa State. A lot of unexplained murders. Remember that in Brass Local Government Area, people were killed. The acting local government chairman was directly implicated in the murders of those people. That matter had not been conclusively investigated, unfortunately.

“When the police came here to arrest the acting chairman, they were obstructed directly by the head of the state security outfit. We believe that the government of Bayelsa state has a direct hand in the murders of those people. Unfortunately, something has not been done.

“You are all aware that two years ago, people shot into our APC rally and killed two people. Nobody has been arrested. The bus that was arrested at the scene has been released to a known ex-militant. Nothing has happened since then.

“We came here because recently, the billboard that was erected for our presidential candidate, President Buhari, was brought down by unknown men. We know that these are the kind of things that precipitate problems.

“If our members begin to react to our billboards being brought down it can lead to crisis. We came to report the incidents to the commissioner of police. What the PDP is trying to do to the APC, our billboards are being brought down illegally”.

The former governor said the APC leaders were also worried that Governor Seriake Dickson, who hitherto shouted about frequent change of police commissioners in the state, kept quiet despite a new redeployment in the state.

He said: “There has been a hullabaloo in Bayelsa State about commissioners of police coming and going. Suddenly Governor Seriake Dickson who was always complaining about the change of commissioners of police has not complained again about this new change again. This time he was very quiet.

The CP has given us assurances. We are going home with those assurances and we will wait to see if those assurances will be carried out”.

Sylva boasted that the APC was a dominant party with great chances in the forthcoming general elections adding that the candidates of the party were very popular.

He, however, said his party would not allow any collusion between the police, the state’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the PDP.

“Our candidates were very carefully selected and we are expecting great results. Above all, we have the best presidential candidate in Nigeria and I know that he has done so much for us and Bayelsa people will vote for him.

“We are very hopeful that this time without the police joining with the PDP, without INEC joining the PDP like it happened before., we will come out victorious. We ran the last election against INEC, the CP in Bayelsa and that is why we had those issues. But this time, we won’t allow those things to happen again”, he said.

Sylva further called on INEC to fish out all the bad eggs working in its Bayelsa office and promised to take some of his worries to the Yenagoa office of the commission.

  • APC dismisses suspension of Hope Uzodinma

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the purported suspension of the party’s governorship candidate Senator Hope Uzodinma by a faction of the party led by Dan Nwafor.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu said in a statement that the Nwafor led faction has no legal right to act on behalf of the party as his leadership has since been dissolved by the National Working Committee.

The statement reads: “The attention of the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party APC, has been drawn to the purported expulsion of our governorship candidate in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, through a statement signed by the former chairman of the party in Imo State, Mr Dan Nwafor.

“We want to state categorically that the former Imo State Working Committee of the APC led by Mr Nwafor was dissolved after majority of members of our party in Imo State lost confidence in their ability to lead the party to victory in the forthcoming general elections, especially due to their involvement in several anti-party activities.

“Consequently, the NWC had since set up a Caretaker Committee in Imo State led by Chief Marcelinus Nlemigbo to pilot the affairs of the party in Imo State.

“Therefore, Mr. Nlemigbo remains the only recognised Imo State Chairman and any decision which do not emanate from this recognised Caretaker Committee as regards the affairs of the APC in Imo State is null and void.

“We call on our teeming supporters in Imo State to remain steadfast and disregard such reports as it does not have the blessings of the NWC.

“The NWC is paying keen attention to events as they unfold in Imo State and the party would always take appropriate measures to protect the interests of the party.

“Let it be stated clearly that APC would not tolerate indiscipline from any member of the party under any guise.”

  • Court orders arrest of Imo APC Caretaker Committee members

A Federal High Court sitting in Owerri, the Imo state capital, on Thursday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of members of the Adams Oshiomhole- recognised Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State.

The presiding Judge, Justice M. T Salihu, ordered the Commissioner of Police to arrest members of the Caretaker Committee.

They are Marcellinus Nlemigbo, Nzekwe Ugochukwu, Lady Love Ineh, Canice Nwachukwu, Josephine Nnorom, Paul Para, Linus Ineoha and Nicholas Osuagwu.

The Judge said they should be arrested for assaulting a bailiff, Nwawi Ogugua, who came to serve Court proceedings on members of the Committee in their factional office.

Justice Salihu ordered that all the members of the Committee, excluding one, Enyinnaya Onuegbu, who was the only person in Court, should be arrested and brought before the Court on January 31.

They are to explain why they should not be committed to prison for attacking an officer of the Court who was carrying out his legitimate duties.

It will be recalled the bailiff who had gone to serve Court Summons on the Caretaker Committee members was beaten to a pulp by thugs at the instance allegedly at the instance chairman of the Committee.

Narrating his ordeal, the plaintiff, said that he escaped death by the whiskers after thugs attacked him at the factional APC office, where he went to serve Court Summons on the Caretaker Committee members.

“It was then that they pounced on me and started beating me like a common criminal. They said they will kill me and nothing will happen”.

The Suit, No. FHC/OW/CS/01/2019 was instituted by the Imo State APC Chairman, Hon Daniel Nwafor, challenging the dissolution of the elected State Executive by the National leadership of the party with the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, the Inspector General of Police and the nine members of the Committee as respondents.

  • APC supporters in free- for-all at court premises

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State on Wednesday clashed at the premises of the Federal High Court in Benin City, the Edo State capital during the hearing of the case between House of Representatives member, Hon Johnson Oghuma and Comrade Julius Abuda.

Comrade Abuda has dragged Hon. Oghuma and the Edo APC to court over the conduct of party primary in Etsako Federal Constituency.

Abuda is asking the court to declare him winner of the APC  Estako Federal constituency primary.

Counsel to both parties hurriedly left the court when fight broke out between the two rivals supporters.

Three persons were injured in the fracas.

Comrade Abuda, in a statement, said it was shocking  for Hon Oghuma to bring thugs to the court premises.

”On Tuesday 17th January 2019, we produced our two witnesses, their lawyer G.C Igbokwe crossed examined us and we submitted our evidences to the court.

“It was the day of the defendants, INEC, APC and Oghuma to produce their witnesses to be crossed examined by our lawyers.

“Everything went on well. The court later adjourned to 20th February 2019, for further hearing and we left the court. One of Oghuma boy Nurudeen a.k.a,  (I (must do) led other thugs to attacked my supporters and lawyers.

The lawmaker who said he was sure of victory at the court and the  general election said he won in the 31 wards at the party’s primary.

“He must be out of his mind. Tell him I said so. Why do I need thugs for a case I know by the grace of God I will win.

“If there was disagreement between his boys who insulted my lawyer Barr GC Igbokwe SAN and one of my men who could not bear his attitude challenged him even when I was not there now amount to my bringinning  thugs to court. He Abuda was not even in court.

“Abuda claimed there was no primary but I won the primary and I tendered all the result sheets and every necessary documents that proved there was primary and I won 31 wards as against the one ward he won.”

  • Obasanjo an election rigger without peer – Tinubu

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday said Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was an election rigger without peer and is responsible for most of the flaws in the Nigerian political economy since 1999.

Tinubu gave this view in Lagos on Tuesday in a letter entitled: ‘Chief Obasanjo -At War Against his Own Deeds’.

Tinubu wrote the letter in response to Obasanjo’s earlier letter to President Muhammadu  Buhari, in which Obasanjo chastised Buhari and his administration, claiming, without any proof, that the president was preparing to rig next month’s poll.

In Tinubu’s view, Obasanjo in levelling the uncorroborated accusation was merely  projecting on to the APC the electoral misconduct he would have  perpetrated  if still in power

Tinubu, also the Co-Chair of the APC Presidential Campaign, said Obasanjo  was handed Nigeria on a silver platter in 1999. But he chose to squander the opportunity of leadership.

“This man should have positioned himself to be the father of the nation. All the goodwill that could be granted a political figure was bestowed on him. The global economy was such that it should have fuelled our growth.

”Everyone wanted Nigeria to succeed after emerging from years of noxious military rule. Despite the flawed exercise that rendered him president, we all bit our tongues in hope that he would say and do the right things that would move Nigeria forward.

“Instead of being a unifying figure as Commander-in-chief, he lowered himself to being a divisive, vindictive conniver. There was no table which he neared that he did not upset and overturn, ” he said.

Tinubu said that Obasanjo had the opportunity of placing the economy on the path to durable growth and shared prosperity through diversification, industrialisation and creation of a social safety net for the poor.

”He tried to convert our young democracy into a one party state. His PDP boasted that they would rule for 60 uninterrupted years. Never did they boast that they would govern us well during even one year of the sixty.

”Instead, he handed the economy over to a tight group of cronies, turning what should be a modern economy into a version of the mammoth trading companies that dominated the 17th and 18th century.

“We hoped that Obasanjo would personify statesmanship, thus showing the way to a more benign political culture. Instead, he bickered and feuded with his vice president and mostly anyone who dared remind him that he was human and thus infallible.

“Given the vast margin between the good he could have achieved and the nebulous feats that comprise his true record, Chief Obasanjo is the person most responsible for the flaws in the Nigerian political economy since 1999, ” he said.

Tinubu also described the former president as an election rigger without peer.

According to Tinubu, the ways of Obasanjo are not those of the APC. And this difference has meant the better for Nigeria.

“There is no election which occurred under Obasanjo’s watch or in which he participated that did not involve cheating on his part.

“Even the late President Umaru Musa Yar ‘Adua admitted he was the beneficiary of a flawed election engineered by none other than today’s vociferous complainant.

”Former President Obasanjo is many things to many people; but he is all things unto himself.

”This election will be a free and open exercise of the people’s right to choose their leaders. Obasanjo makes fiery allegations against this right but offers no corroborating evidence; he presents only reams of words.

”This is because Obasanjo is projecting onto the APC the misconduct he would have wrought if still in power. Yet, the ways of Obasanjo are not those of the APC. And this difference has meant the better for Nigeria,’ he said. (NAN)

  • ‘PDP planning to attack our members in Kwara’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised an alarm over an alleged plot by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state to unleash violence on its members before, during and after the Presidential campaign rally scheduled for February 4 in the state capital

Spokesman of the party, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu Said in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja that the PDP in the state should know that the forth coming elections in the state will not be won through the use of guns and thugs, but through the thumb of the people.

The APC also alleged that the meetings has been held by the PDP with political thugs who have been given matching orders to unleash violence on APC supporters to scare them away from attending the campaign rally.

The statement reads: “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a sinister plan by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State to unleash violence on our teeming members and supporters before, during and after our party’s Presidential campaign rally slated to hold in Ilorin on February 4, 2019.

“Credible intelligence available to us also indicates that the sinking PDP is planning to orchestrate spurious charges against some of our members before some compromised courts in the state. In addition, we have it on good authority that meetings are being held with thugs, where decisions were taken to create chaos in the state any moment from now.

“The orchestrated violence is aimed at instilling fear in the minds of our members and supporters from coming out enmasse to honour President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders of our party at the February 4 rally.

“While we acknowledge the fact that the PDP is scared stiff of our party’s growing popularity amongst the good people of Kwara State and the impending doom that awaits it at the coming polls, we call on the leaders of PDP in Kwara State to rein in their hired thugs in the interest of peace and the people of the state.

“For the purpose of emphasis, we would like to reiterate that the coming elections in the state would not be determined by guns, clubs and cudgels, but by the thumbprints of Kwarans, who have resolved to change the political narrative of the state from decadence and underdevelopment as nurtured and fostered by the soon-to-expire Senator Bukola Saraki political dynasty, to one that promotes individual dignity and prosperity for all, which our party and its governorship candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak represents.

“We call on our members, supporters and, indeed, all good people of the state to go about their lawful duties and not be scared of welcoming our dear president on February 4, as security agencies have been put on alert to forestall any breakdown of law and order and molestation of people before, during and after the Presidential campaign rally.

“We would wish to remind the PDP once again that no amount of scaremongering and dirty tactics it aims to deploy would stop its massive shell lacking at the polls. The obvious desire of Kwarans to change the political status quo in the state for the good of all and not for the benefit of a few retrogressive elements is now a movement aptly christened ‘O to ge’, which is total and irreversible.

“Finally, we urge APC members and supporters to keep the positive spirit that has characterized their conduct in this electioneering period alive, as the time for the rebirth of our dear state is at hand.”

  • Shelve plan to arrest Atiku, group tells President

A group of concerned citizens, under the umbrella of Concerned Nigerian Patriots For Sustainable Future (CNPFSF), yesterday urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration to desist from arresting any opposition candidate.

Besides, the group urged the international community to immediately caution the Federal Government against embarking on undemocratic measures that may likely stall the conduct of the 2019 general elections and throw Nigeria into chaos.

In a statement in Kaduna by its President, Chief Adebayo Eze Sakir, the CNPFSF said: “We have already alerted the international community to pressurise President Muhammadu Buhari to keep to the promise he made to British Prime Minister in 2018 to conduct free and fair elections as well as ensure liberty of his opponents.

“The signs are crystal. A few days ago, Lai Mohammed, the Information Minister, boasted that the former Vice-President and the main opposition candidate in the upcoming elections, Atiku Abubakar, will be arrested on charges bordering on alleged N156 million fraud perpetrated in the erstwhile Bank PHB in 2009.

“We hereby unequivocally condemn any plan to arrest Atiku Abubakar or any senior member of the main opposition party, the PDP, and their perceived enemies, just three weeks away from our national elections.”

  • 2019: PDP, APC in battle of supremacy in Delta

Preparations for the 2019 general elections have begun in earnest in Delta State. OKUNGBOWA AIWERIE reports that the campaigns, which are far from being issue-based, have degenerated into one of mudslinging between the main parties, thereby raising the spectacle of violence.

THE 2019 general elections in Delta State promises to be a keenly fought battle between the two dominant political parties — the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC), with the fringe parties serving only as adjuncts.

The campaigns for the 2019 general elections are assuming a frenetic pace. While the PDP has embarked on a state wide campaign, same cannot be said of the APC, which appears to be bogged down by internal wrangling.

With presidential elections now weeks away, there is the perception that the ruling party at the centre may have started out late, as it has not launched any meaningful attempt at soliciting votes from Deltans.

But, the APC factional chairman, Jones Erue, debunked this insinuation. He said: “We are campaigning door-to-door contrary to insinuations by the PDP that we are not campaigning. I urge all members to win the units and wards.”

Campaign efforts by both parties appear geared towards plundering votes at the unit levels across the state.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege stressed this new strategy recently at different fora. The governor spoke at the inauguration of the PDP campaign council in the state, when he admonished party men of the dangers of underrating the chances of the APC. He urged members to conduct a unit driven campaign.

He said: “I appeal to leaders of our party to ensure that they all relocate to their wards and mount an effective campaign, as there is no gain residing in Asaba when the battle will hold at the various units. So, I charge all to go to their various wards where the contest will hold.”

Omo-Agege expressed a similar view during the inauguration of the APC campaign council in Asaba. His words: “Our job has been cut out for us. Our election campaign is going to be unit driven. This is to ensure that the party wins with a huge margin; unlike in 2015 when the APC scored a paltry 48,000 votes.”

The PDP, without the distractions of debilitating legal battles, appears to have a head start. But, this notwithstanding, the APC inaugurated its campaign team last week amidst pomp and pageantry.

Furthermore, both parties have also sought endorsements from spiritual leaders. The race for such endorsements started late in December, when the APC governorship candidate, Chief Great Ogboru, led high-profile party men, including, former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and factional chair Jones Erue, to the Rainbow Christian Assembly, Effurun to dedicate his campaign and the entire electoral process to God.

Ogboru said the 2019 elections is for the APC to take over governance of Delta State and usher in a “new dawn of light and development” to what he described as “years of slavery and underdevelopment of the state by the PDP”.

The APC candidate said the party’s decision to dedicate the campaign committee and the entire process to God was because victory was assured. Uduaghan, at the church service, boasted that with his defection to the APC, the issue of who wins the 2019 elections in the state is already a settled affair.

He said: “I know how we have been doing it before and with both of us (Uduaghan and Ogboru) now in one camp victory is already sure come 2019.”

The PDP, not wishing to be outdone in the quest for spiritual intervention, dedicated its own 2019 election campaign to God at a vigil in Asaba, the state capital. Okowa, on that occasion, expressed confidence that God would grant the candidates of the party victory in the forthcoming general elections.

His words: “Because we have put our God first, we have no need to be scared going into the campaign or scared of the elections. God is leading us into the battle and we will have victory. As a people and as a party, there is no doubt that we have worked hard these three and half years to deliver democratic dividends to our people. It is significant that we come to the presence of God today to seek Him. It is going to be the battle of the spirits and our God will prevail; our opponents that are relying on small gods will fall.”

Also, as part of preparations, new campaign offices have been commissioned by both parties.

The PDP recently secured the endorsement of some traditional rulers in different parts of the state. For instance, all the traditional rulers of Isoko ethnic nationality and their President-Generals endorsed Governor Okowa as their candidate for the 2019 governorship elections.

At an emergency national conference of Isoko nation convened by the Isoko Development Union (IDU) held at Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, the traditional rulers observed that the only way they could reciprocate the governor’s good governance in Isoko land is to re-elect him to continue with his good works.

The Ovie of Oleh Kingdom, Omagha I, Anthony Ovrawah, who is the Chairman of Isoko Traditional Council of Traditional Rulers, led more than 19 traditional rulers to pray for the governor, assuring that all Isoko sons and daughters would cast their votes for him.

Also, Anioma traditional rulers unanimously backed the re-election of Governor Okowa with a vote of confidence, stating that he has delivered the dividends of democracy across the state.

The royal fathers, under the aegis of Delta North Traditional Rulers Forum (DNTF), gave the confidence vote at a meeting held at the Palace of the Obi of Owa, Obi Emmanuel Efeizomor II, where they observed that Governor Okowa has delivered the dividends of democracy across the state and as such deserves a second term to complete the good work he has started.

But, it remains to be seen if these endorsements secured by the PDP will translate to electoral votes. Okowa had, while admonishing party faithful during the inauguration of its campaign council harped on the need for an issue-based campaign.

His words: “First, I want to thank the party for putting up this campaign council and other bodies that had been set up for the purpose of the campaign for the PDP in Delta State. As we go into the campaign, it should be issue-based. We are confident that there is a lot of achievements for us to campaign with which will earn us victory. Other persons may go out there to insult people and say what they do not know. Please don’t respond to such persons; tell the story of where we have been, where we are today and what we will do because, we have a lot of projects; we have commissioned several projects and there is a lot more to be commissioned.”

The campaigns have been anything but issue based, despite what the leadership of the leading parties would have the electorates believe. Okowa, during a ceremony to receive decampees in Ughelli North, alleged that the APC was planning to disrupt elections using federal might.

His words: “They want to disrupt elections in Delta North; they boast of bringing the police and army, but we cannot be intimidated by these things.

“During the elections, don’t leave your units after voting; remain, send delegations to accompany the electoral officers to the ward, the local government headquarters and to the state headquarters. Don’t give them room to rig, because, you can see that the opposition is not engaging in campaign, because they are aware that they cannot win in a free and fair contest; they don’t have campaign programmes and they have nothing to campaign with. But, we must watch them closely.”

The APC has not been entirely blameless in this regard, as they have also been engaged in mudslinging. At an APC reconciliation meeting in Uwvie LGA, the APC governorship candidate accused the PDP of electoral malpractice.

He said: “This time around, the PDP can no longer do what they used to do with high impunity. They are going to bribe people, but when there is contention between authority and money, money will fail. We want change in Delta State. What the PDP had always relied on, rigging elections, no longer exists; this has been dislodged by one man, Sai Baba. The PDP has money to bribe, but when there is contention between authority and money, authority carries the day. So, the PDP will lose in a free and fair election. Uvwie opposition has always given the PDP a good fight for their money since 2003. They will carry electoral materials to Government House, but we will still defeat them. They defeated Barr. Agbamu then by changing the result. But, that will never happen again. They no longer have the capability and capacity to carry electoral materials anymore. They don’t have that cover anymore in Abuja; it has been dislodged by the man, Sai Baba. God is with us.”

The Labour Party may bear the unenviable toga of a fringe party, but its Delta State Chairman, Chief Tony Ezeagwu, believes the two dominant parties are in for a rude shock. He said the LP will exploit the disunity in the major political parties.
