  • APC chieftain knocks Akpoti-Uduaghan over ‘satirical apology ’

APC chieftain knocks Akpoti-Uduaghan over ‘satirical apology ’

The South South Zonal Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Blessing Agbomhere has carpeted suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over her letter of apology addressed to the National Assembly.

Agbomhere “mocked the satirical letter of apology,” stating that the lawmaker’s lamentation has only just begun an hour into a journey of two years.

In a statement on Wednesday, he urged Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan to consider joining Nollywood, as letter writing will not be of much help to her in her journey of mischief.

He said that the lawmakers’ mudslinging habit targeted at the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio and the National Assembly as an institution will never yield her expected results.

Agbomhere described the satirical letter as “laughable and meaningless to those who believe in the sanctity of the most important arm of government – the legislature, and those who love the number three citizen of Nigeria, Senator Akpabio, a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger and the Uncommon President of the Nigerian Senate.”

He said the Kogi Senator’s continued unpatriotic actions since her suspension should be condemned by every well meaning Nigerian rather than being “encouraged, as being done by charlatans and unpatriotic elements who find fulfillment in destroying the image of their own country.”

Agbomhere stated: “The most pitiable part of the whole national nuisance is that Senator Natasha is married to an idiot who cannot stop her from self destruction.”

The APC South South zonal organising secretary reminded Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan of the oath of office she took while being sworn in as Kogi Central lawmaker which among other things includes the protection of the sanctity of the National Assembly.

Agbomhere wondered why the lawmaker “vigorously fought to enter the Senate through the judgement of the Court of Appeal, when she knew that she did not possess the gravitas, finesse and temperament required to belong to the hallowed Chamber.”

He stated: “Senator Natasha was suspended by the Senate for gross indiscipline, rather than do the needful by apologising or clearing her name in a court of law, she has elected to whip up sentiments against the Uncommon Commissioner, Governor and Architect of Modern Akwa-Ibom State, the Uncommon Minister of Infrastructural Development in the Niger Delta Region, and the uncommon, patriotic, unbeatable and infallible Senate President, the amiable and adorable Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, the National Assembly as an institution and the government, led by a reformer and visionary President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Senator Natasha’s behavior I dare say, amounts to treason. How on earth can a supposed Distinguished member of the Nigerian Parliament make it a stock in trade to break protocol and de-market the most important arm of government in her country just for the sake of clout chasing? I encourage the necessary security agencies to bring her to book forthwith.”

Agbomhere who is also the Director General, Door to Door For Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidency, a campaign organisation dedicated to President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, alleged that Senator Akpoti – Uduaghan was in cahoots with individuals such as Martin Vincent Otse popularly known as VeryDarkMan, Barrister Deji Adeyanju and Omoyele Sowore, all of whom claim to be advocates for the masses and working restlessly with the opposition to mislead gullible citizens from appreciating the gains of the President Bola Tinubu and APC led administration, while behind closed doors are lobbying and begging to be engaged to work for the re-election of President Tinubu come 2027.

“Senator Natasha has satirically realised that the Nigerian Senate, like the British House of Lords, and the Senate of the United States of America, is an institution that has the powers, without fear of blackmail, to reprimand its erring members. Senator Natasha has satirically accepted the Senator Godswill Akpabio remains the uncommon, infallible and unbeatable President of the Senate who will continue to act as such, unshakable and committed to the good governance of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Whether by Satire, Idiom or Innuendo, She has a choice to either apologise sincerely for her indiscipline, malicious falsehood, and treasonable actions or remain suspended and keep missing out from those beautiful working-visit pictures she loves to take with the Handsome, Uncommon and Adorable President of the Nigerian Senate.

“I encourage the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio to continue to work hand-in-hand with the Executive Arm of the Federal Government to succeed, and no amount of blackmail and grandstanding by the opposition will stop President Bola Tinubu from returning to Aso Rock in 2027.” the statement added.

He praised the minister’s resolve in countering the NNPP’s “cheap propaganda” and preventing the party from misleading the people of Kano.

“The trio of Ganduje, Barau, and Ata has successfully exposed the failure of the NNPP-led administration in Kano.

“They have stripped the NNPP of its deceptive narratives, leaving them scrambling,” he said.

Hon. Olorunsola agreed with Dr. Ganduje that the NNPP was politically dead in Kano and at the national level, describing NNPP as a party built on propaganda and falsehood.

“NNPP is nothing more than a political scam and Kwankwaso’s project of manipulation, now fully exposed,” he said.

“The people of Kano have seen the light and are rallying behind the APC.”

According to him, Kwankwaso and Governor Kabir Yusuf are now politically unsettled, desperately seeking relevance, and allegedly planning to return to the APC after failed attempts to hijack and destabilize previous platforms such as the PDP and PDP and NNPP.

Tax reforms: Only few Nigerians have studied the bills – Katsina APC chieftain

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Katsina-based industrialist, Alhaji Salisu Mamman, has stated that only a few Nigerians have studied the four bills that make up the tax bill recently submitted to the National Assembly by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking in an exclusive media interview with The Nation in Katsina, Mamman described the economic and tax reforms of the current administration as “long overdue.”

He said: “The issue of economic and tax policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies has become  subjects of national contention in recent times, the fact however remains there is need for te reforms.

’’In fact, its part of human endeavour, even you as an individual, not to talk of government, at every point in time, you have to embark on one form of reform or the other, because reforms, as defined, were supposed to translate into changes or anything that will impact positively on the lives of the people.

‘’Certainly, reforms were ‘’sine quano to the society, a sine qua non to human endeavor, it’s something that you cannot do without.

“They were necessary evils, necessary things that one has to do, depending on from which prism one is looking at those reforms. So this is the circumstances. Unfortunately, we found ourselves on these four bills that Mr. President has presented before the National Assembly.

He further described Nigeria’s current economic challenges as seen by several opinions, cutting across public, religious, regional, sub-national prisms with divergent opinions, as healthy for democracy adding no one should be shut out from the discourse

He said: ’’This is not military decrees or military regime, where the Supreme Military Council decides it all, even during the military, you have the Supreme Military Council sitting to promulgate a decree.

“So, whatever happens, even during the military era, you have some divergent or conglomeration of other opinions of some other people. Yeah, it may be a military government that, okay, the decision is only taken by let’s assume 12 or 15 people. You can imagine 10 or 15 people taking decisions on behalf of 200 million people.

‘’it is becoming clearer now that most people have not even gone through or taken time to read the content of the tax reform bills’.

‘’They rely on speculation, on hearsay. They rely on conjectures. They rely on what somebody has said nobody cares to go and start reading the 361 pages. No one cares to even know that what is before the National Assembly are four bills.”

Ogbu-Aguocha, the APC candidate for Enugu East Senatorial Zone in the 2023 general elections, also commended the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, for championing the bill and ensuring its passage into law within a year of assuming office.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Ogbu-Aguocha described the achievement as a major milestone towards ensuring the development of the South East, over 50 years after the end of the Civil War.

She said: “I recall the three Rs promised us after the Civil War, Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Reconciliation. This bill shows that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has actually initiated the Reconstruction of the South East while deepening the Reconciliation and Rehabilitation of the region. I also want to point out that this is only the second year of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government so it is obvious that he is still going to do more for the Southeast.

“I am congratulating Ndi Igbo, and at the same time, thanking Mr President for assenting to the South East Development Commission Bill. I want to thank the President profusely knowing that now, the South East can begin the process of healing from the wounds of the Civil War and the reconstruction of the South East can now begin in earnest.

“Some of the problems we have which are not quite peculiar to us but are endemic, such as erosion, can be looked into and taken care of. The economy of the region will be boosted and rapid interstate infrastructural development can be initiated.

“I have to thank Mr President, because in the past, this bill had been proposed before at the National Assembly, but was never passed or got presidential assent. So President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has proven that he is truly a friend of Ndi Igbo, and I know that he will do more for Ndi Igbo.

So we thank President Tinubu profusely for that.

“I also especially congratulate our worthy son, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives who has also shown that he is committed to the good of all and not just for the good of himself. Democracy Day: Nobody is immune against slipping, APC chieftain tells Nigerians

Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Nigerians to refrain from mocking President Bola Tinubu over an incident at the Democracy Day celebration in Abuja.

The APC leader emphasized that what happened on Wednesday, June 12, could happen to anyone in the country.

Recall that Tinubu missed his steps while trying to board a parade vehicle during the democracy day celebration in Abuja.

Mumuni in his reaction, advised the citizens especially those on social media to stop mocking the president.

The APC chieftain who said that such incidents can happen to anyone, urged the citizens to focus on issues that can bring development to the country.

The APC chieftain made these assertions in a statement signed and made available to journalists through his Media Aide, Rasheed Abubakar on Wednesday.

The APC chieftain said, “What I am saying is that Nigerians spend time on some issues that they don’t need to worry about.

“There are other important issues that we can focus on. Issues that will bring development to the country.

What does the president’s misstep have to do with governance? Anybody can experience it. Whether strong or not, anyone can misstep his way.

“But, many people are saying a lot of things on social media. So, it has nothing to do with governance. What Nigerians need to focus on is governance. We need to think of how to get out of the present challenges facing the country.

“Joe Biden too fell once when he was climbing the plane stairs. Anyone can miss their step climbing the stairs. Biden fell multiple times missing his steps.

“It has happened to other presidents outside Nigeria. We should learn how to embrace respect for the elders.
