  • Nigerians in diaspora reject CCT act amendment

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Scandinavia, Ayoola Lawal has described the ongoing attempt by the senate to amend the Code of Conduct Tribunal Act as a shameful and illegal act that must be resisted by all means.
He made this known on Monday in a  press statement, stressing that members of the Red Chamber cannot be talking about amendment of the CCT Act when the present administration is fighting the main scourge of Nigeria, corruption, by all means.

Ayoola noted that many constitutional lawyers have remarked that the project is dead on arrival because it is a constitutional matter and ‘the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria cannot be amended by an act of the National Assembly.

Ayoola quoted one of the senior lawyers saying: “The sections they are trying to amend are clearly stated in the constitution and could only be reviewed through a legally acceptable constitution amendment process.”
The Chairman, APC Scandinavia, also quoted a statement credited to Senator Biodun Olujimi (PDP-Ekiti State) on an online news source, during the second reading of the bill last Thursday.
According to Ayoola, Olujimi said: “If you don’t assist your neighbor when his house is burning, it will extend to yours.”

However, APC chief noted that the statement credited to Olujimi further confirmed the sentiment in the air that the senate are trying to suddenly change the law to save the senate president, Senator Bukola Saraki, who has been standing trial for alleged asset declaration.
“It is a pity that such a comment could be credited to someone who claimed to be defending the mandate of his people and the integrity of the Nigerian state.
“It will be insane for anyone to try to save just a neighbor when an entire institution that is a pillar to the nation will be under siege in such attempt. Such a statement calls for the appropriate authority and the citizens to put such a person or group of people under watch.

“If the other members of the Nigerian senate can not stop the peddlers of the illegal act who are smearing the image of the senate of Nigeria, we will take the appreciate steps to in filing a case against them before the international community which Nigeria is a signatory member on such related matters.

“Meanwhile, I implore we citizens to keep eyes on the people at the helms of affairs who are trying to take us backward wasting taxpayer’s money and playing politics devoid of morality and common sense.
“Nigeria deserves men of integrity and honor with the fire of patriotism in the helms of affairs of legislation and across the board and not otherwise. God bless Nigeria,” he maintained.

In furtherance to that, he said: “In the last few months, we witnessed the crisis that almost crippled activities at the NASS and affected the Nation as a whole. “However, as promised by President Muhammadu Buhari and based on the APC mandate, any misunderstanding between various stakeholders would be resolved internally under the purview of the constitution.” The national Coordinator also observed that the APC leadership and party stalwarts led by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu were instrumental in creating a common ground for a peaceful resolution of the crisis, which goes to show the quality of leadership existing in the party. Lawal further commended Dogara for eventually allowing party interest to supersede personal interest by agreeing to promote best of legislative business forward. Similarly, he noted that Gbajabiamila also should be given credit for allowing the party to resolve the crisis by remaining civil all through the process. “It is a welcome development for NASS and is truly in line with the saying that without crisis, there would be no positive development. “Our great party would continue to remain pacesetters and will champion quality and inclusive leadership that ensures the promotion of peace, improvement of lives for citizens and sustainable development in our dear Nation,” he summed. • APC diaspora commends Buhari on bailout package

APC diaspora commends Buhari on bailout package

The All Progressive Congress, APC Scandinavia on Thursday commended President Muhammad Buhari for the approval of the inclusive relief packages as a bailout for the states of the federation.

Speaking through the National Coordinator, Ayoola Lawal in a statement, APC Scandinavia described the package as one that will enable the three tiers of government to clear all salaries owed in arrears to hardworking Nigerian workers across the nation.

Lawal further stressed that the bailout, if properly managed, will enable the states and the local councils meet their payroll responsibilities further.

“The packages will not only go a long way in ameliorating the financial sufferings of Nigerian workers across the nation, who have without monthly payment of their salaries for several months but also alleviate the psychological pain associated with working without the ability to meet basic needs.

“The packages include sharing of dividend paid to the Federation Account by the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Company (NLNG), a debt relief program designed by the Debt Management Office which will help states restructure their commercial loans which is currently put at over N660 Billion, and extend the lifespan of such loans while reducing their debt-servicing expenditures.

The National Coordinator further suggested a Central Bank-packaged special intervention fund that will offer financing to the states, ranging from N250 Billion to N300 Billion. “The CBN package be a soft loan available to states for the purposes of paying the backlog of salaries.

“Any individual or opposition party that thinks Nigerians are gullible to beg them to come to power in 2019 after several years of looting the collective wealth of the nation and psychological torture of the Nigeria people is a jerk.

“We in APC Scandinavia are very proud and delighted that President Buhari is showing Nigerians and the International Communities that he is a man of his words and a clear pointer that Nigerians made the right choice of voting the right party to govern them.

“The promises made by APC and the President during the election campaigns are not the usual mantra of the past political elites of PDP. The promises are genuinely crafted out of justifiable demands and needs of an average Nigerian and a nation in dare need of real and authentic leadership,” he said.

he therefore called for apositive change in all areas of governance, sustainable growth and development in the entire country which is devoid of political affiliations.

“Civil servants will again see dignity in their labour and contributions to the national growth after several months of unpaid salaries and eroding pride as a civil servant.

“We implore the governors to manage properly the packages and maximize the opportunities to deliver better governance to their constituencies,” he urged reiterating the need for Nigerians home and abroad to continue their supports, constructive criticism and prayer for the President Buhari led administration, the NASS, the governors and the APC leadership.

This is maintained will help the ruling party to further deliver on their promises for a better Nigeria. “Welcome, all to a New Nigeria of our dream,” he summed.

Few days old opposition not allowed – APC Scandinavia

    • We need each other to make Nigeria great again.

The National Coordinator of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Scandinavia chapter, Ayoola Lawal, has said it is a welcoming development that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is coming on board as an opposition to the ruling party.

According to him, as much as such it is a welcoming development of our growing democracy and for APC, ‘the PDP spokesperson should be more constructive and put on his thinking cap before making a berating statement against the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration’.

“Trying to impress as an opposition on board is one thing, facing the reality of rebuilding, development and leadership is another.

“The PDP in the name of an opposition party trying to pressurise PMB into acting in their paradigm ways of good governance is a political trick that will not work against this current administration.

“The PDP government, while in authority, completely immersed the fabric of the nation in ruin and the economy in comatose but kept deceiving Nigerians and the world that all was well, which could be likened to the mega financial meltdown of the world in the recent years passed.”

“President Muhammad Buhari pace of leading is necessitated by the current situations on ground. He is a strategist that sacrificed several years to prepare for the leadership as president-elect.

“No individual or few days old as an opposition party can push PMB into deliberate traps and holes premeditated.

“Sixteen years of heavy looting of the treasury of the nation, setting up the country for total failure and making it a sink ship, then turning around to be pressurising PMB after barely 31 days in office is a shame on any individual or opposition party,” he noted.

Lawal further stated that President Buhari and the APC leadership will always welcome any real and constructive advice, as well as meaningful pressures that will be useful in meeting the justifiable expectations of Nigerians, which the party uses every opportunity to reiterate.

He therefore maintained that: “Diarrhoea mouthed, vendetta pressure and ill-intent criticisms are not amongst the ranks. Well meaning Nigerian or party will at this stage in the annals of Nigeria be praying for PMB to get it right and take a very calculated steps rather than rampaging.

“Nigerian is already in a dark mess caused by callous, greedy and shameless people who still has the gut to make vacuum noise in the name of opposition.”

Thus, he prayed that Almighty God continues to strengthen the president and the APC leadership in wisdom to make the country great again. “Welcome, all to a new Nigeria of our dream,” he added.

APC Scandinavia: Crisis will strengthen Party

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Scandinavia chapter has described the current crisis in the party as one that would further strengthen the party.
The statement was made on Thursday by Mr. Ayoola Lawal, National Coordinator, APC Scandinavia during a caucus meeting in Sweden.
Lawal opined that Nigerians and the International communities should not be exceedingly alarmed at the current crisis facing the formidable party.

He stated that: “Crisis are regular part of growth and development and we want to assure everyone that All Progressives Congress will overcome this current crisis and come through stronger and better than it was known before now.”

“For us at APC, it is not a challenge but a test of our resilience that our party loyalist and Nigerians can testify to over the years even before we won the last general elections at the federal level.

“The party is a party of orderliness and that is why we are still this coordinated. If this sort of crisis befell another party in this country, even the former ruling party, it would have grown out of hands.”

The coordinator further noted that it is, however, pertinent that everyone in the party respect the party hierarchy and act in agreement with laid down rules and regulations as contained in the party’s constitution.

“We implore every House of Representatives member and all Senators elected on the platform of the APC to maintain the level of orderliness associated with the party,” Lawal stated.

Saraki, Dogara were wrong – APC Scandinavia

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Scandinavia Chapter has vehemently condemned the result of the elections held at the National Assembly on Tuesday which produced Senator Bukola Saraki as senate president.
The APC Scandinavia Chapter condemned  what it called the ‘manner and way, Saraki and his APC cohorts treacherously worked against the party to emerge the president of the 8th Senate and Honourable Yakubu Dogara as speaker of the House of Representatives respectively.
“It is ignominy and derogatory drama that some APC members could pull together with PDP members to elect a PDP deputy Senate president and majority leader of the 8th Senate.
“It is a clear pointer that some APC members are still having the mindset of Jonathan led administration in the present APC led administration,” noted Ayoola Lawal, National Coordinator, APC Scandinavia Chapter.
According to Lawal, the chapter urges the national leadership of the party to weigh in and set the record straight by meting out the appropriate sanction and punishment against any individual or group for any anti-party activity.
“This is a litmus test and a clear opportunity for the party leadership to send the clear signal that the party’s interest supersedes any individual ambition or interest and this is real change and business unusual,” he maintained.
