  • Atiku advises INEC not to use incident forms

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to adhere to its promise not to use incident forms for the 2019 general election.

Abubakar, in a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Mr Paul Ibe on Thursday in Abuja, said that he was worried about reports contrary to promises made by INEC that it would not use the incident forms

He said that any change in the decision by INEC to reverse to use of incident forms was unacceptable to the PDP and to him.

According to him, any decision to use incident forms in Feb. 16 election is to encourage rigging.

Abubakar said that data from the 2015 elections showed that 75 per cent of the almost 14 million people who voted without biometric accreditation in 2015 were linked to President Muhammadu Buhari.

“There are no reliable and accurate means of knowing who those voters were and whether they were genuine voters or sham voters.

`This disproportionate number of voters who voted without biometric accreditation in 2015 affected the integrity of those elections and we hold the INEC to its oft-repeated promise not to use anything but the Smart Card Readers and PVCs for the 2019 elections.’’

Abubakar said that the commission should remember that the world was watching and that Nigerians were alert to see if the present Chairman and board of INEC would place national interest above narrow interest.

He reminded the Chairman of the INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, of his promise to Nigerians at the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room National Stakeholders’ Forum on Elections which held in Abuja on Dec.10.

He said that Yakubu, at the event, assured Nigerians that the smart card reader had become an integral part of the electoral process and would be deployed for the conduct of the 2019 general elections.

Abubakar said that at ₦143 billion, it was safe to say that more than enough funds were appropriated for the INEC to acquire and distribute Smart Card Readers, hence no reason for change of decision.

He said that the job of the INEC was to give Nigerians a level playing field and also conduct an election that reflects the will of the people.

“We once again want to sound the alarm that only the strict use of Smart Card Readers and Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) can guarantee free, fair and credible elections that will be accepted by Nigerians and the international community,’’ he said.(NAN)

  • Atiku showing acts of desperation, says BMO

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has accused former Vice President and presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) of sponsoring fake news against the Nigerian military and President Muhammadu Buhari, saying such action was an act of desperation and lack of patriotism.

In a statement signed by the Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke, the group said recent untrue claims of terrorists’ attacks on the military, desertion by Police personnel; allegations of corruption scandals in the military hierarchy and the resurfacing of a 2014 claim by soldiers of lack of weaponry are sponsored fake news by the opposition candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

According to the group, the Atiku Abubakar campaign Organisation have no issues to put forward in their campaign and has resorted to sponsoring fake news items aimed at tarnishing the image of Nigeria’s Armed Forces and security personnel.

It said: “Atiku Abubakar’s desperation knows no bounds; his recent moves to sponsor narrative through fake news that paint Nigeria’s security personnel as weak and incapable of carrying out their duties, is an example of the PDP candidate’s desperation and lack of patriotism.

“The PDP campaign, finding no fault in the current leadership of the Nigerian Army, had begun sponsoring old videos from 2014 with the aim of selling a narrative that suggests that the military under President Buhari has not been well-taken care of like it was during their 16 year rule of malfeasance.”

It said further that a recent report by an American firm making unbacked claims that the recently slain former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Vice Marshal Alex Badeh, was killed to hide corruption under the current Defence leadership was fake news and the handiwork of Mr Brian Ballard, the United States lobbyist Atiku procured at $90,000 a month.

The group said “It is shameful that a former Vice President of Nigeria would procure the service of an American lobby firm to sponsor fake news aimed at attacking the morale and credibility of Nigeria’s Armed Forces.

“In addition to this is the hiring of foreign trolls to man their online handles in a way that is  against National interest. The whole aim is to destroy national institutions including INEC and cause confusion after realizing that they have lost the contest even before the votes are cast.

“This goes to emphasize the fact that Mr Abubakar does not have Nigeria’s interest at heart and must be kept far away from the seat of power. The PDP has nothing to sell to Nigerians; it has a candidate who is notorious for corruption allegations and is distrusted across the globe; asides being the candidate of a party responsible for the pillage of Nigeria’s treasury.”

The group asks Nigerians to be wary of Atiku and his party as they would begin promoting fake news items in attempts to compare the Buhari administration to their horrid past.

They accused the PDP Presidential candidate’s media handlers of lying when they claimed that President Buhari has a record of trafficking illicit funds, saying “It is a blatant lie that Atiku Abubakar, as head of Customs at the Lagos airport in 1984 stopped the ADC of the then Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, from smuggling in 53 suitcases of looted money.

“This is a matter that was settled back then. The suitcases were the personal belonging of the then Nigerian Ambassador to Libya who was returning to the country after his tour of duty with his three wives and sixteen children.

“The late Ambassador was coming into the country at the same time as the Emir of Gwandu whose son was General Buhari’s ADC and his suitcases were falsely presented to the public as those of the Emir.

“So from all indications, the suitcases which were cleared through Customs by soldiers had nothing to do with Buhari and there was nothing to suggest that illicit funds were being brought into the country.

“Nigerians must be wary in the coming weeks. The party which has no agenda to sell would continue promoting lies on the media. It would, like one of its recent converts, begin to trivialize the impact of corruption and even attempt to normalize it; Nigerians must fight and reject this.”

  • New Year: PDP assures Nigerians of brighter future

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organization (PPCO) has urged Nigerians to step into 2019 with unwavering optimism, faith and hope of a new era of peace, national cohesion and economic prosperity under a “new President, Atiku Abubakar, that will be elected on February 16, 2019”.

The party congratulated Nigerians for their resilience in surviving the almost four years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s “incompetent, anti-people and harsh administration”.

In a statement by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, the main opposition party urged the Nigerians to use the New Year to pray against all “negative projections” by President Muhammadu Buhari, who the PDP said, had declared more hardship for Nigerians in the new year.

The statement said, “Nigerians must therefore avert such negative projections by voting out President Buhari and replacing him with their choice leader, the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku.

“Atiku has already articulated a practical blueprint to ease their burden and pain by engendering rapid economic recovery, national cohesion and realistic solutions to our myriad of challenges.

“2019, as an election year, offers our citizens their much-desired opportunity to end the trajectory of economic hardship, hunger and starvation, strange diseases, untimely deaths, collapsed infrastructure, humongous  unemployment figures, wanton killings and all the evils that have bedeviled our nation in almost four years of the President Buhari’s corrupt and incompetent administration.

“Our citizens have made immeasurable sacrifices to keep the nation going in the face of very harsh policies, lies and fake promises of the Buhari administration. They now eagerly long for a breathe of fresh air under Atiku as their next President.

“Nigerians should therefore be optimistic as their incoming President will usher in a new era of a transparent and responsive government with the template for wealth creation, job opportunities and revitalization of our productive sector through tax cuts and direct empowerment of our hard working entrepreneurs in a manner that increases our national productivity, reduce costs of goods and services, increase exports and shore up the value of our naira.

“Furthermore, Atiku Abubakar, as a new symbol of our national unity, has also perfected the outline for national reconciliation and healing and ending of all divisive tendencies with which the Buhari Presidency fouled our polity with violence, divided our people along primordial fault lines, with its attendant violence and bloodletting in various parts of our nation.

“The PPCO therefore urges Nigerians to maintain their resolve to make our nation work again by continuing in rallying behind Atiku Abubakar to rescue our nation from the stranglehold of President Buhari and his vicious cabal”.

  • 2019 Budget: ‘Atiku’s criticism high on rhetoric, low on real solutions’

The Presidency on Thursday declared that former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar’s criticism of 2019 Budget proposal was high on rhetoric and low on real solutions.

Atiku Abubakar had last weekend issued a statement in which he described President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 budget proposal as fundamentally flawed and failing to address current realities.

A statement by the Special Adviser on Media and publicity, Femi Adesina, pointed out that the “current realities” identified by Atiku were issues already highlighted in President Buhari’s budget speech and further amplified in the detailed presentation by the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma.

According to him, Atiku Abubakar regrettably didn’t offer substantive and workable solution to the identified “realities”.

He said “Atiku describes the underlying assumptions of the budget as generous, wild and untenable but does not propose alternative assumptions that would have been more appropriate.

“He argues that the economy is yet to recover from the 2016/2017 recession. Unfortunately, he cannot create his own definition of an economic recession, which is a technical term with a universally applicable meaning. When an economy experiences two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth, it is said to be in recession and whenever it returns to positive GDP growth of whatever rate, it is said to have exited recession. It is doubtful if he understands the simple meaning of recession.

“Atiku attributes the sustained accretion to foreign reserves to “increases in international prices of Brent Crude and foreign borrowing”. But he conveniently forgets that under the immediate past federal administration oil prices were at an all-time high with substantial growth in foreign borrowings, and yet foreign reserves nose-dived from a peak of $62billion to as low as $24 billion.

“His repeated reference to the price of Brent Crude throughout his statement may be indicative of his lack of knowledge that Nigeria’s Bonny Light Crude trades at a premium of at least $2 per barrel over the price of Brent; just as his reference to Nigeria’s OPEC quota may also suggest that he does not know that Condensates do not count in measuring compliance with the quota.

“The PDP Presidential candidate faults the provision of N305 billion for NNPC’s cost under-recovery on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) but does not say exactly what he would do about PMS pricing.

“If however we are to go by an earlier statement from his campaign organisation, which promised to reduce the price of petrol to N87, then we can expect a much higher subsidy provision from an Atiku government; because he is not going to perform magic to get the refineries working at peak capacity immediately.

“He describes the 2019 budget as being very small, but does not offer any implementable options for improving domestic resource mobilization, which is the only sustainable means to achieving larger budgets. It does seem that he does not understand or is just feigning ignorance about the critical role of revenue in budget preparation.

“A careful look at Atiku’s statement would show that there is nothing original about his identified “realities.” These are areas President Buhari had already identified in his speech. For instance, the President recognised that the revenue performance of the Federal Government up till September 2018 has been less than spectacular.

“Leaving aside for a moment the fact that there has been a remarkable increase in Federal Account receipts in the last three months, a look at the budget speech will show that the President specified a number of actions to tackle revenue weakness including strengthening on-going efforts at tax collection, liquidation of recovered assets, immediate recovery of past due oil royalties charges and deployment of the National Trade Window to improve customs collections.

“His most laughable criticism perhaps was his claim that “there is little evidence to show that increased investment in agriculture has yielded positive results”. Even the worst adversary of the Buhari administration would acknowledge that significant progress has been made in the agriculture sector.” he added

He said that in Atiku’s often desperate attempt to rubbish the 2019 budget, he confused foreign direct investment with capital inflows.

This, he said, is wrong as capital inflows covers foreign direct investment, foreign portfolio investments, international borrowing and short-term deposits in money market instruments.

He went on “He complains about movements in foreign portfolio investment which are often volatile and reflect monetary policy normalization in the United States, meanwhile he is silent on the positive trade surplus mentioned in the budget speech which truly reflects living within our means as a nation.

“Atiku also calculates the budget deficit as a percentage of current revenue rather than as a ratio of gross domestic product which is the preferred standard for inter-temporal measures of the deficit. Using this more appropriate measure the national fiscal deficit is 1.3% of GDP which is well below the 3% specified in the Fiscal Responsibility Act and well within the best global norms. So much for those who claim they have the magic wand to grow the economy.

“A most glaring weakness in the statement by Atiku is that he does not take a stance on issues of public interest in the budget, which is utterly regrettable from someone who aspires to lead Nigeria.

“As President Buhari explained, the subsidy/under-recovery has been retained to reduce the burden on ordinary Nigerians at a time of weak purchasing power in a manner that avoids the abuses of the past. The truth is that contrary to the belief of people like Atiku that low fuel prices only benefit the rich, a large number of ordinary Nigerians rely on PMS to operate ‘keke’, ‘okada’, taxi, and ‘danfo’.

“A lot of the generators used by small businesses also use PMS.  Indeed, it is amazing that a man who has promised N87 per litre of PMS can criticize a process of under-recovery/subsidy that is not being abused as it was in the past.

“To further show Atiku’s lack of knowledge about basic issues in the petroleum market, he contradicts himself in his quest to make a non-existent point. He complains about the benchmark price of $60 per barrel used for crude oil exports in the budget and tries hard to show understanding of the dynamics of the global oil market by referring to US shale oil production and pressures on the Saudi regime. Yet Atiku expects that OPEC quotas will come into force, in which case the price of crude oil may rise in international markets. What is obvious is the fact that low oil prices impact negatively on shale oil production.

“For instance, recent reports from a Permian producer show that with West Texas Intermediate at near $45 per barrel, they have already cut back on rig count and use of completion crews.  There is more over the demand side which remains extremely strong in the United States, while large economies like China and India will continue to grow at over 6% and 7% respectively in 2019, which will also impact on crude oil prices.

“Finally, Atiku moans about the capital budget without acknowledging the historically high capital expenditure over the past two budget cycles continuing into the current 2018 budget cycle.

“Apart from the fact that the Federal Government has kept to its promise to keep capital expenditure at 30% of the budget, the PDP Presidential candidate is quiet about his plans to raise capital expenditure and reduce recurrent spending. The reality is that it can only be done by retrenching public sector workers and by not increasing the minimum wage to which this government is fully committed.”

He said that it was obvious that Atiku’s statement on the budget was a poor attempt at playing to the gallery.

“Without a doubt, the country faces significant fiscal challenges. The administration of President Buhari understands these challenges, as well as workable solutions thereto.

“The implementation of some of the solutions however needs to be paced and well-timed to avoid dislocating the growth trajectory of the economy. Atiku’s criticism of the 2019 budget proposal can best be described as high on populist rhetoric but low on any real solutions to the identified challenges.” he stated

  • Atiku tasks Buhari over alleged ‘stake’ in Etisalat, Key Stone Bank shares

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has called on the appropriate authorities to urgently institute a probe to unravel the hidden faces behind the new ownership structure of multi billion naira telecoms giant, Etisalat Nigeria, as well as Keystone Bank.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, Special Assistant to Atiku on Public Communication, Mr. Phrank Shaibu said such a probe was necessary in view of reports that members of President Muhammadu Buhari’s family now own substantial shares in Etisalat Nigeria which, has an estimated $2billion (about N727billion at 360 per dollar) of its estimated $20billion global net worth.

Atiku also expressed shock at alleged reports from unimpeachable sources that the first family now plays big in the nation’s financial sector after acquiring mouthwatering shares in Keystone Bank with total assets of $1.916 billion (equivalent to N307.5billion) as well as purchasing about ₦3 billion worth of shares in the new Pakistani Islamic Bank.

“I know that last week was turbulent for President Buhari and I apologize for adding to his woes, but as he is insistent on the myth that he is spotless and anti corrupt, If this is found to be true, this scandal would break every rule of corporate and public governance, since this will be the first time members of the first family will be openly involved in a once-in-a-lifetime deal that would make them all richer beyond their wildest dreams,” the statement said.

The accusation was a reaction to allegations in the media that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government plans to use billions of Naira from the Anchor Borrowers Programme allocated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for farmers, using imaginary donations from 12 million farmers as a façade.

Atiku advised Buhari to shun the use of state resources and machinery for the upcoming 2019 presidential election, saying that no farmer contributed any N1.7billion for Buhari’s re-election campaign. He warned that APC’s decision to use monies meant for farmers to run the President’s campaign was untidy.

Atiku continued, “The other day, a man who scored 15,424,921 votes to win the 2015 general election  was reported to have been nominated by 14 million APC members at the Presidential primaries for 2019. Now, over 12 million farmers have donated to his campaign.

“Are they indirectly spewing out outrageous figures of people they intend to claim voted for them in the coming elections? Could that be why the President was flashing an occult double four hand signal that has gone viral?

“What did the hand signal mean? Does it mean that the President has jettisoned the idea of a free and fair election and telling Nigerians that no matter how they vote, he will return for a second term of four years?

“In any case, if the farmers who just took a loan through the borrowers anchor programme and have not liquidated the facility can donate this huge sum or any sum for that matter, it means the  ‘Association of widows and children of all those slain by Boko Haram and herdsmen will donate N5billion to the Buhari campaign. In fact, the 23.1 million youth who lost their jobs between 2016 till date will donate about N12billion to the Buhari campaign.

“Assuming but not even conceding that such a huge sum of money was donated to President Buhari by Nigerian farmers as his handlers would want Nigerians to believe, wouldn’t such donation be in contravention of Section 91 (9)of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) which says no individual or other entity shall donate more than N1m to an aspirant or a candidate,” Atiku said.

The PDP presidential candidate referred the President to Section 91 (2) of the Electoral Act, which states that a presidential candidate can spend a maximum of N1billion.

The law also recommends a fine of N1m or a prison term of 12 months or both for any candidate that breaches the provisions of the Act.

“We have no stand on whether or not President Buhari should run for office. That is his prerogative and that of his party. But we believe it is improper for public office holders to forcefully loot public funds, on behalf of a sitting president seeking a second term in office.”

‘’What this means is that there is a ‘war chest’ which apparently is from the national coffers”. Atiku added.

He said if President Buhari wants to run for office next year, he should take only from monies sourced from donations by his campaign groups that are independent of government sources.

“Anything short of that – as is currently the case with the use of funds from the CBN meant for farmers will mean there will be no level playing field for all the candidates billed to contest for the presidency during next year’s presidential elections,’’ Atiku said.

  • Atiku urges prayers for military in counter insurgency at Christmas

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has urged Nigerians to spare a thought for the nation’s military and security forces who are on the front lines of the counter insurgency operations in the Northeast.

In his Christmas goodwill message, personally signed by him, Atiku said he had had cause to telephone a family member of the late Lt. Col. Ibrahim Sakaba who was one of the military men killed by the Boko Haram insurgents in Metele, Borno State on November 18.

“I was touched by the devotion and love they had for the man who paid the supreme sacrifice for Nigeria.

“I urge all Nigerians to think about these heroes who make the relative peace we live in possible. They endure so that we all can enjoy. Because they gave their all, we all have some peace.

“So, when next you see a soldier, boost his or her morale by acknowledging their sacrifices and thanking them. Nigeria owes so much to the gallant officers and the men and women of our armed forces.

“They epitomize the spirit of Christmas, which is sacrificial giving. Let us also celebrate the sacrifice our armed forces make for Nigeria.

“Finally, seeing that the essence of Christmas is that Christ came to earth to reconcile us to God, should we not, as beneficiaries of such divine reconciliation, reciprocate it by being reconciled with one another during this Yuletide period and beyond?

“There are too many divisions in our nation today and it is up to each and every one of us to inject the healing and unifying serum of love for our neighbours into the nation’s consciousness this Christmas.

“We may be Muslim, Christian or traditional religion adherents. But we are all creatures of God deserving of the love of God and of our neighbours’.  Let that be the attitude we embrace this Christmas and beyond.

“Once again, on behalf of me and my entire family, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe, prosperous and New Year”, Atiku added.

  • Atiku knocks Buhari over latest unemployment report

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has knocked President Muhammadu Buhari over what he described as a forged unemployment report.

Describing the job report released on Wednesday by the National Bureau of Statistics as terrible and catastrophic, Atiku countered that 20.93 million Nigerians lost their jobs under the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

In a statement on Wednesday by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku accused the Presidency of arm-twisting the Statistician General of the Federation, Dr. Yemi Kale.

The statement said, “We expected a terrible job report, particularly with the comment on live television from the President’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, that President Buhari had ordered the Statistician General of the Federation, Dr. Yemi Kale, to fudge the latest job reports.

“However, the job report released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday November 19, 2018, is not just terrible, it is catastrophic. They show that under the All Progressives Congress administration, a whopping 20.93 million Nigerians have lost their jobs!

“To put this in perspective the unemployed population in Nigeria is now twice the population of Benin Republic!

“Nigeria cannot continue like this, especially with an administration that continues to blame others for things that they should find solutions for with the latest ridiculous episode being President Buhari’s blaming of former President Jonathan for his own inability to appoint ministers for six months, an action that is directly responsible for the sorry state of unemployment in Nigeria.

“We urge Nigerians to note that a President who can’t create jobs or wealth in his own private business cannot create jobs or wealth for the public because you cannot give what you do not have.

“Right now, Nigeria is the world headquarters of extreme poverty and our main challenge is jobs. Atiku Abubakar is an expert at job and wealth creation having created 50,000 jobs in his own private capacity.

“Whatever is entrusted into the hands of Waziri Atiku Abubakar blooms. This is a man who will never have 150 cattle year in and year out. This is a man who will never blame others and will always accept responsibility for changing things. Nigeria needs jobs and Atiku means JOBS.

“Finally, we would like to commend the Statistician General of the Federation for having the courage to stand up to President Buhari by releasing the inconvenient truth about the state of unemployment in Nigeria. The party was reacting to a directive by the President to the Statistician General of Nigeria, Mr. Yemi Kale, to change the existing data on unemployment”.

  • Omo-Agege blames collapse of former DSC on Obasanjo/Atiku/PDP

The inactivity and comatose state the Delta Steel Company (DSC) was subjected to for more than 20 years has been blamed on the policy failure of the People’s Democratic Party-led administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who disclosed this during his ward-to-ward campaign in some communities of Udu council area of Delta state, said former President Obasanjo and his vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, were reckless in their management of the circumstances that shut the critical steel company down.

It would be recalled that the DCS, which has now been refurbished and privatised by the incumbent All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Muhammadu Buhari administration and renamed Premium Steel and Mines Limited, was shut down for more than 20 years until ten months ago.

Speaking during his campaign at some of the communities, including Opete, Ekete Inland, Ovwian, Ujevwu and Orhuworun all in Udu council area, Senator Omo-Agege said reeled out several reasons why the people of Udu must vote for President Buhari in the 2019 election, adding that the Atiku has nothing else to offer except more misery to people.

He said the the rot created by the PDP presidential candidate and PDP government for more than 16 years in DSC is currently being corrected by the Buhari government, adding that the company’s pensioners and retirees who had been abandoned are now being paid their benefits.

The Senator also disclosed that the Udu people have every cause to vote for Buhari and the APC because of the government decision to complete the Udu-Itakpe railway project including the completion of the overhead bridges along the rail line in Udu and other parts of Urhobo land, which before now have become a hideout for criminal, stressing that “it is now possible for the people of to travel to Abuja from Udu by train provided by Buhari and APC.

Omo-Agege also disclosed that the Amukpe-Agbor road, which had been abandoned by Obasanjo – Atiku and Goodluck Jonathan of PDP, is also currently being reconstructed by the Buhari administration, noting that Buhari has shown that he is a friend of the Urhobo.

He said “in my capacity as your Senator, I cried to Mr. President to look at the plight of the Delta Central people concerning the state of DSC, the pensioners, the railway and the Amukpe Agbor  road and he approved them for me. These are some of the reasons you should vote for Buhari and all APC candidates in the 2019 election.”

  • Igbo leaders backing Atiku are saboteurs, say Buhari supporters

A group, the Presidential Support Committee has said that Igbo leaders who endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, are working to sabotage the chance of the Southeast to produce the President in 2023.

Its Southeast caucus spokesman, Charlene Adeasor, said in Abuja at the end of their meeting that Southeast governors and  leaders were determined to subvert the aspiration of the Igbo people.

He said it is important that President Muhammadu Buhari should secure bloc votes from the region as part of the process marking the greater integration of Igbo into the ruling party.

Adeasor said: “There was a time we had a press conference and said what our brother could not do for us in six years, Buhari has done under four years. Before Buhari came, one lane of the Enugu Port Harcourt road was almost covered with grasses.  If you go there today, you discovered that the dual carriage way is being worked on.  The one that shocked me is the Owerri Aba express road.

“In terms of infrastructure,  we are witnessing what he think about the Igbo people.  So,  those who think that Buhari does not like the Igbo people are scared because these are the treasury looters.  Buhari is a man who has the love of the country at heart and that is why we are doing everything to make sure he comes back.”

The spokesman said “I called them saboteurs because most of them have already taken side and I was the one that manufactured the word saboteur.

“The Igbos are trying to copy the South west who got the attention of Nigerians because they put their house in order when they voted for UPN enmass. Now that we are trying to move into the APC, you can see governors who we call saboteurs are trying to team up to make sure that the dream of the Igboman in 2023 does not come to light. That is why I label them saboteurs.

“The essence of this briefing is to let the entire pdp world know that we are ready for the next general election. We want to be our house together so that those who are in doubt as to whether President Muhammadu Buhari is in the south,  they should know that there is a committee that is active in the south east with a strong determination to make sure he is reelected in 2019.

“We are ready for the election.  We have heard all the negative plans of the People’s Democratic Party and the talk that we have an Igbo man as running mate.  We are not talking about an Igbo man as running mate, but the man who is at the helm of affairs and that is Bulgari.

“We want to let the whole world know that we have capable hands that will work to make sure Buhari return to power. We are telling the PDP people that we are ready. The Igbos have made up their mind to give Buhari bulk vote in 2019.

“For those still in doubt,  let me tell you that the south east is together. We cannot talk about an Igbo President in 2023 if we are not united. We are going to do what we are known for and saboteurs will not have a place in the south east. We are going to deliver Mr President.”
