“We are in an era where people want to change everything about themselves just because they don’t like it. And I genuinely feel like that is not normal. You are free to change your appearance, but I feel like we need to start being honest about that kind of lifestyle. You can’t say you are confident and then change everything about yourself. The reality of those things is that age will always defeat you. It’s his common knowledge.

“Now, one thing I’ve always said about myself is that I have no interest in changing the way I look. I am a straight-bodied girl. I don’t have hips. I don’t have curves. I don’t have a big bum. My top half is bigger than my bottom half. And it’s something I have Learned to accept over time. Was it difficult? Yes. But I always say your self awareness is something that nobody can take away from you.

“I feel like I’m perfect the way I am. And I hope and pray there is someone that’s watching this and they believe they’re perfect the way they are, too…You’re perfect the way you are. Go outside without makeup. Take that filter off. At the end of the day when you step outside, we all gonna see how you look in real life. Sorry. So if you like, put the face app down. Put the face app down. Thank you,” she said.

  • BBNaija S9: Did housemates meet celebrity criteria?

BBNaija S9: Did housemates meet celebrity criteria?

Big Brother Naija Season 9, has come to an end, but the conversation around the show’s underwhelming performance continues.

Despite Kellyrae’s victory, many viewers feel the season lacked the drama, excitement, and standout personalities that usually define the show.

In the wake of this, a crucial question arises: do this season’s housemates have what it takes to rise beyond reality TV stardom and achieve lasting celebrity status?

Here’s a breakdown of the key qualities needed to become a true celebrity:

    1. Public Recognition: That unmistakable aura of familiarity, where faces are recognised, and names are recalled effortlessly. Sadly, aside from a select few (Wanni, Handi, Kassia, Kellyrae, Onyeka, Shaun, Ruthie, Mbadiwe Twins, and Victoria), many housemates remain shrouded in obscurity.

    2. Influencer Status: The power to inspire, sway, and leave an indelible mark on their audience. This season’s housemates, however, struggle to command the influence that opens doors to lucrative brand deals and ambassadorships.

    3. Social Media Following: A substantial online presence, where fans flock to engage and idolize. Alas, this season’s contestants failed to ignite the social media frenzy that propels reality TV stars to stratospheric heights.

    A season of forgettability:

Viewers weren’t shy about expressing their disappointment during the 71-day show. Many struggled to recall names beyond the standout few, leaving a lingering sense of “who’s who?” The contrast to previous seasons, where charismatic contestants like Tacha, Mercy, CeeC, and other notable reality stars left an indelible mark, is stark.

    Entertainers vs. Celebrities: The Distinction.

It’s crucial to acknowledge that not all entertainers are celebrities. While reality TV contestants may captivate audiences momentarily, true celebrity status demands sustained relevance, charisma, and a lasting impact.

As we bid farewell to BBNaija Season 9, the question remains: Will these housemates defy expectations and rise to celebrity status, or will they fade into the reality TV ether?
