  • BBNaija: Mbadiwe Twins didn’t deserve to be on season nine – Nelly

BBNaija: Mbadiwe Twins didn’t deserve to be on season nine – Nelly

Former Big Brother Naija Season 9 housemate, Nelly Mbonu has argued Ozee and Ocee Mbadiwe, the ‘Mbadiwe Twins’, didn’t deserve to be part of the show.

According to Nelly, the twins didn’t do anything remarkable during their stay in the house and should have been evicted in the first week.

She stated that their surname influenced how other housemates treated them, giving them undeserved respect.

Nelly stated that she wasn’t impressed by the twins’ background or surname, and felt they weren’t suited for Season 9.

While she doesn’t have anything personal against them, she admitted that they annoyed her throughout the show.

Speaking in a recent interview with Hip TV, Nelly said:  “Mbadiwe Twins’ surname made most housemates interested in them. They were well respected in the house because of the name. But it wasn’t a thing for me. I don’t care.

“Mbadiwe Twins should have been evicted in the first week. I feel like they were not supposed to be in Big Brother’s house, to be honest. I felt like they were just, I don’t know, I cannot just say what they were doing in the house.

“I don’t have anything against them but they are just pissing me off. They annoyed me.”

BBNaija 10: Onyeka shares tips for new housemates

Finalist on Big Brother Naija Season 9 Onyeka Chigbo has shared valuable advice for the incoming housemates on Season 10 ahead of its premiere tonight.

Speaking in a video, Onyeka emphasised the importance of confidence and self-awareness, stating that contestants who know their worth can “burn the house down” with their boldness.

However, for those who aren’t as confident, Onyeka recommends pacing themselves and not overdoing it.

She also encouraged the housemates to have fun and enjoy the experience, while being prepared for potential criticism and negativity from others.

According to Onyeka, it’s crucial for contestants to know who they are before entering the house, so they can stay true to themselves and avoid being swayed by trolls.

“What message would I give to the incoming BBN housemates? If you’re not bold and don’t have a mind of your own, don’t do too much. But if you have a mind of your own, if you understand your value and your worth, go in there and burn that house down.

“Have as much fun as you want. Yes, if you do so well you’re going to get hated, you’re going to get trolled. But that’s fine. That’s why you need to know who you are before you go in there so that you will not be swayed by trolls.

“If you know you’re not confident, sometimes it’s even good not to do too much, to be honest.”

The Big Brother Naija Season 10 premiere is set to introduce the new housemates, who will compete for a grand prize of N150 million.

How BBNaija transformed our lives- Ex-housemates Ebuka, Laycon, others

Some alumni of the Big Brother Najia reality show have shared how it transformed their lives and catapulted their careers.

They made this known in a recent interview at Ebuka Obi-Uchendu’s birthday party.

For Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the show’s host, he said Big Brother Naija was a launching pad for his career as a TV presenter, crediting the show with helping him discover his potential and noted that without it, he would likely be practicing law instead of hosting one of the most popular reality shows in Nigeria.

“It [BBNaija] definitely made me a TV presenter. I was never going to be doing this. It was not in my trajectory. I was a lawyer, and I was going to be practicing somewhere today. But I went into the Big Brother house and discovered that I have this thing about speaking. Without BBNaija, I wouldn’t have a career in television today,” he said.

Actress Bisola Aiyeola echoed similar sentiments, stating that while she was confident of her success in the entertainment industry, Big Brother Naija accelerated her rise to fame.

“Big Brother Naija escalated the success that I knew I was going to have either way, but the reality show took it like zillion steps faster to the top,” she said.

Other former contestants shared their own success stories, Elozonam, an actor and filmmaker, said the show elevated his brand and gave him much-needed exposure.

“Big Brother Naija elevated my brand. It gave my brand exposure”, he said.

Mercy Eke, a former winner, attributed her entire transformation to Big Brother Naija, saying it changed her, her brand, and her existence.

“Big Brother Naija changed me, changed my brand, changed my whole existence. I think you can see it right here”, she said.

Gideon Okeke, an actor, was more emphatic, stating that without Big Brother Naija, he would still be unknown and struggling.

‘BBNaija No Loose Guard’ Reunion goes on Showmax

The ninth edition of Africa’s biggest reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, came to a close with an explosive reunion that brought 21 housemates back under one roof, this time, not to compete for a prize, but to settle unfinished business.

The reunion episodes have debuted on streaming platform, Showmax, for the rest of July 2025.

Big Brother Naija Season 9, themed No Loose Guard, was unlike any season before it. The show kicked off with 14 pairs, 28 housemates in total, entering the house together and playing the game as duos.

That twist alone made for intense gameplay, unpredictable alliances, and emotionally charged exits. In the end, it was Kelly Rae of Team DoubleKay who emerged as the winner, securing the top spot with a mix of charm, strategy, and emotional intelligence. But the real drama? That came later.

The reunion gave the housemates a final opportunity to speak their minds. From Wanni’s bold claims to the heated exchange between ex-lovers Zion and Chinwe, the tension was palpable. Chinwe also clashed with Chinne over unresolved issues, while Wanni and Onyeka’s fiery outbursts lit up social media. It was clear old wounds hadn’t healed, and the reunion gave everyone a chance to say what had been left unsaid.

With Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as host, every episode offered viewers raw, unfiltered moments, misunderstandings were revisited, grievances aired, and feelings that had been bottled up for weeks (and in some cases, months) came pouring out.

BBNaija: Anita, Topher break silence on relationship amid backlash

Former Big Brother Naija housemates Anita and Topher have addressed the backlash from fans after receiving couple gifts, clarifying the status of their relationship.

Anita, on Snapchat, emphasised that their relationship was genuine while it lasted but ultimately didn’t work out.

She denied allegations of deception or manipulation, stating that she values transparency and honesty.

Anita acknowledged that fans’ feelings are valid and appreciated their support, assuring them that she prioritises her values and integrity.

Anita said: “Since the reunion aired, I’ve seen and heard the conversations happening online, and I feel it’s important to address them directly, out of respect for those who’ve supported me genuinely, without conditions. When I left the Big Brother house, there was real curiosity around our relationship. And that curiosity was valid. We did give it a chance but as with many things in life, somethings work and somethings don’t, and if everything was aired, there would have been more clarity on this.
There was no deception, no manipulation, and certainly no performance for the purpose of benefits. Anyone who knows me or has followed my journey understands that I move with intention and honesty, even when it’s uncomfortable.

“The idea that I “pretended” to be in a relationship to receive benefits is both hurtful and incorrect. I’ve never asked for support under false pretenses, and I deeply value the trust placed in me by my supporters, and everyone dear I’ve walked this this journey with. My name, my work ethic, and my values are non-negotiable, and I protect them fiercely.

“I appreciate those who’ve reached out with concern and support. And to those who’ve felt disappointed or misled, I want you to know: I get it, your feelings are valid and matter to me. But I will always choose transparency over performance, and I will never play with the love or loyalty of the people who hold me up”.

Topher, on the other hand, kept his response brief, stating that their relationship had run its course and expressing gratitude for fan support.

Topher wrote: “Relationship Ran Its Course. Sometimes, in life, things don’t go as planned, and ours is no different. We are currently at a stage where we have to prioritize certain things. It was genuine and continues to stay so.

“Amaka and I are both supportive of each others endeavour and we are both proud of how we continue to evolve. None of us take our supporters for granted and we are eternally grateful for the love”.
