  • BBNaija Season 9: Fairme, Michky speak candidly on 35-day experiences

BBNaija Season 9: Fairme, Michky speak candidly on 35-day experiences

BBNaija No Loose Guard ex-housemate and one half of the Radicals pair, Fairme, has expressed shock over his pair’s nomination and eventual eviction from the show.

Fairme expressed his surprise and disappointment over what he perceives as a betrayal by fellow housemates Doublekay, whom he had considered close allies.

In an exclusive interview, Fairme spoke candidly about the unexpected nominations that led to his pair’s exit from the show, specifically pointing to the nomination by DoubleKay pair, Kelly Rae and Kassia, who he thought were in their corner.

“It was actually DoubleKay,” Fairme revealed when asked which nomination shocked him the most.

His bewilderment, according to him, stems from the close bond he believed he had with Kelly Rae, particularly due to their shared ethnic background.

“Kelly Rae, this guy is a Itsekiri guy like me. We are the only Itsekiri people in the house. Kelly and I were very close. We were always talking,” he explained.

The betrayal was even more jarring for Fairme because of the efforts he had made to support Kelly Rae and his partner, Kassia, in the house. “I supported him and Kassia from the very beginning. I was always close to them. And I came out and I saw that they were always nominating me for eviction. Me and my guy, I’m like, what’s happening? What’s happening?” Fairme recounted.

“There was even one time that we voted them for Head of House. And I don’t just know what happened, why,”

He concluded by stating that he intends to seek clarity from Doublekay once the pair leave the house. “I would like to just ask him (Kelly Rae). I’m not judging him yet. When he comes out of the house, I would like to ask him what happened.”

In the same vein, Fairme and his other half, Michky shed light on their unique challenges as a male pair in the house, addressing misconceptions about their dynamic and experiences.

During their time in the house, the Radicals pair were often perceived differently by viewers and fellow housemates alike, with some seeing Fairme as isolated and Michky as overly confident. However, the duo insists that these perceptions were far from the truth.

“Alone and isolated? Isolated from what? I have many friends in the house,” Fairme said, refuting claims that he was often on his own. He explained that his need for personal space was misinterpreted as isolation. “Maybe you’re talking about how you have to be in your own space. That one is normal,”

Michky, who was sometimes criticised for being too confident, addressed those perceptions directly. “A lot of people call it show-off and I don’t agree with this. It’s actually showing off my hard work here,” he stated, referring to his well-maintained physique, which he proudly displayed during his time on the show. “At least see the fine body now. You don’t get that kind of body.”

The pair also tackled the unique challenge of being a male duo in a competition where dynamics and alliances can make or break your game. “We didn’t really care about that,” Fairme remarked when asked if they felt disadvantaged by being paired as two men. “We just thought of how our energy is when we’re together. The energy. And I think that was why the housemates kept saving us. They just needed our energy. We entertained them.”

Michky backed up this claim, reflecting on the challenges of adapting to life in the house, especially with so many different personalities under one roof. “Getting to know other adults with different personalities in an enclosed space,” he said, was one of the toughest parts of the experience. However, he pointed out that they were mentally prepared for these challenges before entering the house. “We knew before we got in the show, so it was not a big deal to us.”

Despite their eviction, the Radicals maintained that they stayed true to themselves throughout the competition, with no elaborate strategies or pretences. “We did not come with any strategy, to be honest,” Fairme clarified. “We were just us.”
