BBNaija: Organisers switch up Season 9 with  No Loose Guard

MultiChoice Nigeria, the organisers of Big Brother Naija have switched off the ninth edition of the show with several twists and turns.

The highly popular reality TV show kicked off on Sunday, July 28, and recorded a total of 28 entries, who came in 14 pairs.

This season, notably titled ‘No Loose Guard,’ has two different sets of identical twins, a married couple, a pair of besties, who are romantically involved, and two friends, who met in a Ghanaian university, are among the contestants, setting the stage for an intriguing 10-week journey.

In a twist, Biggie announced that each pair will participate on the show as one and the eviction of a pair or half of the pair automatically means both individuals are out of the show.

Again, in another twist and unlike previous editions, the 24 housemates were barely settled in the BBNaija No Loose Guard house when Biggie announced the first challenge in the house – The Custodian challenge –  on Sunday night.

Though the challenge was seen as a game of luck, the housemates didn’t realise the importance until the Ndi Nne pair emerged winners.

It was not until Monday that the housemates realised that winning the Custodian challenge came with privileges such as immunity to possible eviction, deciding who emerges the Heads of House and getting a special card that can only be opened and used on Sunday night eviction shows.

In the house, while the Mbadiwe twins remain the eldest at 37 years old, Ndi Nne’s Nneamaka Nwafor is the youngest standing at 22-years-old.

Also, a new twist added to the show is the Immunity holders, which sees Beta (Tjay and Ben) emerging winners for this week’s immunity challenge. The Beta pair will survive the first possible eviction this week. They played an impressive game in the arena, keeping up their guard and balance in the obstacle relay that relied heavily on teamwork and speed.

With more twists unfolding in barely six days of the reality tv show’s kick off, the Heads of House are not immune to possible eviction. Biggie also revealed this in the course of the show, which was unlike previous seasons.

Not left behind are the common occurence in the Big brother house, ships. And in just six days in the house, some of the housemates are beginning to show affection for members of other pairs and others are already marking territories.

In less than three days, Shaun from the Shatoria pair is heavily attaracted to Wanni of the Wanni X Handi Pair, Toby Forge from the Streeze pair is attracted to Kassia of the DoubleKay pair and Mayor Frosh is snuggling between Rhutee, Anita and Onyeka from three different pairs.

The show continues as housemates look forward to their first Saturnday night party tomorrow and possible eviction on Sunday.
