BBNaija: My personality wasn’t understood in Big Brother’s house – Damilola

Evicted Big Brother Naija‘s housemate, Damilola, has clarified misconceptions about her personality during her time in the house.

In an interview on Outsyd by Pulse, Damilola explained that she is bold and firm, not quarrelsome, and that her personality didn’t go over well in the house, leading to her eviction.

“I’m just very bold; it’s not me being quarrelsome, I’m just bold. I would say that I’m really firm or I have a firm personality so I’m not quarrelsome.”

“How do you think that fared for you in the house?” asked the host. “It didn’t go well; that’s why I’m out,” she retorted.

Damilola stated that her behaviour in the house was genuine and not a strategy, citing her self-proclaimed hotheadedness and craziness before entering the house.

Dami was also asked: “Was it a strategy or was it just you being you?” to which she responded, “Before I went into the house, I already said that I was hotheaded and that I’m a crazy person. So if the outside world didn’t see that I was being natural, then it is what it is.”

According to her, she felt misunderstood by housemates, who didn’t see her sweet and selfless side.

“Very much so. Again, I am a firm person, so as much as it seemed to be that I am firm, bold or quarrelsome, as some people would say, I’m also a very sweet person.”

Damilola emphasised her desire for things to work out for everyone and her willingness to connect with people, despite facing unnecessary meanness from some.

“When you get close to me, you know that because I just want things to work out fine for everybody. I’m selfless and I just wanted to connect with people and some people were just being unnecessarily mean, but then it is what it is,” she explained.

BBNaija Season 9: Team Tami hints at separation after eviction

The first evicted housemates of Big Brother Naija’s “No Loose Guard” edition, Team Tami, have hinted at a separation.

Both housemates spoke to the show host, Ebuka, expressing their thoughts after their one-week stay.

Asked if they would continue living together, Toyosi swiftly said she would let Damilola have her space.

“I love you so much but I feel like there has been a lot of tension. She has been blaming herself too much, and I want her to think without me being there,” Toyosi said.

Damilola replied, “Would that be why?”

Toyosi responded: “Yes, you are blaming yourself too much. When you see me, you keep blaming yourself, and I, on the other hand, would like to think too. I don’t think I would be able to be in the same space with someone who is blaming herself. It makes me very sad.”

Ebuka, however, encouraged them to embrace dialogue and talk their feelings out.

He said: “Final note, what’s next? Maybe you guys have not had this conversation yet. There’s a lot of emotions bottled up. You haven’t expressed how you feel, so hearing that now, I think what needs to happen is both of you sitting down.”

“Sit down and say how you feel. I don’t think a week in Big Brother’s house should damage friendship. You’re obviously hurt for different reasons.”

BBNaija Season 9: Two evicted as game gets tougher

For the BBNaija No Loose Guard Season, two housemates, who form a pair, have been evicted one week into the show.

In a shocking turn of events, Tami (Toyosi and Damilola) have been evicted from BBNaija Season 9 after ending up in the bottom four pairs on the first eviction night.

Unlike previous seasons, the bottom four were chosen via audience votes and it was revealed that Chekas, Radicals, Tami, and Streeze were up for possible eviction during the  live eviction show that was held on Sunday.

Besides gaining immunity, the Custodians also earned the right to save housemates from possible eviction. After much thought and Biggie’s nudge, Ndinne saved the Radicals.

With three pairs still up for possible eviction, the rest of the housemates were tasked to vote for the pair they wanted evicted and this resulted in the Tami pair emerging as the first pair to leave Big Brother’s house.

During their onstage interview with Ebuka, Toyosi disclosed that although she was disappointed that she had to leave so early, she was not surprised as her partner, Damilola, had issues with most of the Housemates.

On the other hand, Damilola revealed that she tried mending broken bonds once she realised that she had offended most people. “I guess my apology didn’t go anywhere,” she added.

Based on the voting polls, Tami were to be evicted after they amassed 2.21% of the total votes. Streeze came in next with 4.58%, Radicals with 4.81% and Chekas with 5.12%.

In the same vein, Toke Makinwa left fans asking for more as the first episode of The Buzz made its way to Showmax last week.

Speaking on what she intends to bring to the season, Makinwa said, “I am super duper thrilled to bring you yet another fresh season of The Buzz. You can expect nothing short of a blast as we are coming to you with a truck-load of buzzworthy content, real and raw moments and all the juicy gist,” she said on the premiere episode.

Returning as a guest on The Buzz for a new season, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi and Tosin Silverdam, also had a say on the ongoing show.

Cynthia also shared that the decision to have another child is hers alone, and not her husband’s, “It is my decision. Not Ebuka’s decision”, she said.

She revealed that Ebuka initially wanted only one child due to the high cost of living, but has since become obsessed with their daughters and will likely feel the same way about a third child.

“My husband actually wanted just one child because he wants to be able to give the child the best.

“He said school fees, everything is so expensive so one is fine. But now, he is obsessed with our children and I’m sure if we have the third he will equally be obsessed.”
