  • BBNaija concludes online audition

    After the nationwide auditions for Big Brother Naija season 4, the window of online auditions given by MultiChoice Nigeriafrom February 25, 2019 will elapse today.

    Potential contestants are expected to record a two-minute video, stating why they should be picked to become housemates in this year’s next Big Brother Naija. Following this, they are to log on to www.africamagic.tv/BBAudition fill out the online registration form and upload their videos. The online audition is open to interested participants who must be of Nigerian nationality and 21 years of age, with a valid international passport. They also have to be active DStv or GOtv customers.

    Speaking on the new online BBNaija auditions, Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, Mr. John Ugbe said: “We are giving more Nigerians one more chance to be a part of the biggest reality TV show on the continent by introducing an additional online audition process. We’ve seen how much the show continues to resonate with Nigerians and it’s our desire to create more success stories from the BBNaija platform. We are excited about this new twist and ask that more Nigerians take advantage of this novel opportunity to actualize their dreams of getting into the BBNaija house.”

    Sponsored by Bet9ja, the reality show which is set to hold in Nigeria later this year, held its physical auditions earlier in the month in eight locations across Nigeria: Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt, Ibadan, Warri, Enugu, Calabar and Benin – an increase from previous editions.

  • BBNaija returns with season 4, to hold in Nigeria

    Africa’s popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija ( BBNaija ), is set to return for a fourth season with the producers of the show revealing that the Big Brother House will be located in Nigeria.

    The Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, Mr John Ugbe disclosed this at a media briefing held in Lagos on Tuesday.

    According to him, auditions for the show will hold on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 in eight locations across Nigeria, an increase from previous editions.

    He listed the locations as: Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri, Ibadan, Benin and Enugu.

    Ugbe added that the Nigeria’s number one betting website, Bet9ja, had been announced as headline sponsors of the new season.

    “This fourth season promises to be even bigger than previous editions and underscores MultiChoice’s position as the biggest investor and driver of entertainment content on the continent”.

    “The reality TV show which follows the format of the international Big Brother franchise is known to bring excitement and entertainment to fans and viewers across the continent.

    “It will house strangers over a period of three months who will contest against each other in a battle of wits for the ultimate prize,” he said.

    He said that since its maiden edition in 2006, the Big Brother Naija reality TV show had produced some of the country’s biggest pop culture influencers and celebrities.

    They include Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon Okeke, Katung Aduwak, Bisola Aiyeola, Efe Ejeba and Uriel Oputa and mostly recently Miracle Ikechukwu, Tobi Bakre and Cynthia “Cee-C” Nwadiora.

    He said that as regards challenges faced, there was nothing anticipated that MultiChoice cannot overcome with its zeal to give its best to its viewers.

    Ugbe said that they would always follow best standards as regards security, making sure that the house mates and contents are secured.

    He said that specific locations and times for the auditions in February would be announced subsequently.

    Also speaking, Bet9ja’s Chief Executive Officer, Ayo Ojuroye said: “As the leading gaming company in Nigeria, we believe in changing lives.

    Ojuroye was represented by the Senior Marketing Manager, Bet9ja, Mr Olufemi Osobajo.

  • Alex awards scholarship to Orphans

    The star who did not disclosed details of the scholarship pledged to take full responsibility for the education of the three orphans.

    Njamah in reaction to the gesture expressed appreciation to the BBNaija Double Wahala 3rd runner up for her support towards charity.

    Writing on her Instagram handle @empressnjamah, “We met at @sofreshng, and she said beautiful hellos, then she said she loves what I do for charity.

    “I told her it was my birthday the following week, and without hesitation she said she want to do something for few kids.

    “Flew all the way and gave three scholarships, @alex_unusual, God bless you for me!, beautiful in and out, you got yourself a huge fan in me”.

    The Foundation, has been in the forefront of improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable children.

    Operational for over 10 years now, the foundation has a deep-rooted commitment to helping less privileged children and children with special needs, by providing the basic needs for their welfare and quality education.

    Highlight of the event was the presentation of mobility aids to 20 persons living with disabilities.

  • Ladies of Big Brother Nigeria Celebrate Women Heroes

    Popular female contestants of Big Brother Nigeria (BBN) took to their Instagram accounts over the weekend to celebrate outstanding Nigerian women.

    Bisola, Khloe, Ifuennada, Princess, Bammy and Alex took turns on Friday and Saturday, to join the 618 Bees competition encouraging young female entrepreneurs to celebrate female Nigerian heroes.

    Bisola on her Instagram post said; “Just tell us who your Naija woman hero she is, by posting a picture of her using the #naijawomanhero tag and stand a chance of having your business registered FREE!!!”

    Over 400 young women from across the country have participated in the competition, hoping for a chance to register their businesses for free and get investment.

    Faced by alarming unemployment and underemployment, in an environment where costs of living are high and there are few social infrastructures to cushion the effects of growing poverty, millions of young Nigerians are turning to informal businesses to make ends meet.

    On Instagram, where the 618Bees campaign has gone viral, hordes of young women are generating income through make up, styling, fashion, modelling, catering, and other services.

    618Bees co-founder, Efe Ugboro says her life dream is to help female entrepreneurs succeed; by bringing as many of them as she can into the formal sector, helping them structure their businesses, in order to attract investments, and become sustainable.

    According to Efe, “618Bees.com was set up to be the quickest way to get a company started in Nigeria. The company is launching with a focus on Nigeria for now, but plans to open up to other African cities where aspiring entrepreneurs are facing similar challenges.”

    Most of the Big Brother Naija ladies involved in the contest are interestingly self-made entrepreneurial women; Bisola, who came into limelight last year, is an actress, while Tboss makes a living as a model.

  • I’m ready to return the phone, Nina tells Bobrisky

    Former Big Brother Naija housemate Nina, is not having any of the humiliation brought to her by cross-dresser, Bobrisky, as she’s fires back at him after he had blasted her recently.

    The drama is said to have started after TV star chose to align herself with the male barbie’s sworn enemy, Toyin Lawani.

    The cross dresser is ceasing every chance to remind all that cares to listen, of all he did for the ex-big brother housemate.

    He particularly seems to derive pleasure in stating the fact that he bought her an iPhoneX. For what it’s worth, it looks like Nina has had enough of it.

    Amidst the clash, he said she deserved to be humiliated following a troll by social media influencer, Tunde Ednut.

    Bobrisky went on to say that he regrets supporting her and giving her an iPhone X.

    Nina however took to her Instastories to say she would love to return the gadget whenever he wants it back.

    It should be recalled that a while after she left the Big Brother house, Nina got trolled by the same Tunde Ednut for supposedly using an Android phone – this caused Bobrisky (who was still supporting her then) to stand up for her and get her an iPhoneX alongside Tonto Dikeh.

    Well, Nina won’t have any of the humiliation anymore as she’s taken to her page to tell the cross dresser that she’d like to return the iPhone X.

    She wrote,

    “Please i really do not want to sound rude but @bobrisky222 i still have the phone you gave me courtesy of @tontolet intact and unused, ready to be returned at any time and any day of your choice thanks”

  • BBNaija’s Efe becomes African Ambassador for Indian varsity

    Nigerian rapper Efe Ejeba, winner of the 2017 edition of Big Brother Naija reality television show has signed an endorsement deal with educational outfit, Kalinga University, India.

    The “Warri’’ crooner made the announcement on his instagram handle @efemoney where he wrote: “its official, African Brand Ambassador for Kalinga University India. Powered by @dahksn (official representative for Africa)’’.

    “Kalinga University offers scholarship opportunities to Nigerians and other African students. #OgheneWekobiruo #Yeba #Magician,’’ he wrote.

    Efe, who seemed interested in supporting Education, recently donated chairs and desks to two schools, RCM Kabong and ECWA primary schools in Jos.

    According to him, it is an opportunity to put smiles on the faces of the kids in the city and community where he grew up and calls home.

    Efe has been making waves after the release of his hit song “Warri’’ where he featured popular rapper Olamide.

    The Warri born singer was also among artists that sang at the just concluded African Senior Athletic Championship in Asaba

  • BBNaija’s Tobi clamours for bigger platforms for creative youths

    Tobi Bakre, BBNaija season three finalist, has clamoured for more platforms to appreciate the creativity and hard work of young people as he hosted the Nigerian Teen Choice Awards (NTCA).

    The event, which took place in Lagos on Sunday, celebrated several young people who had contributed immensely to societal growth.

    The NTCA is an annual event that celebrates and encourages deserving teenagers and personalities in various categories including music, lifestyle, media, movies, education, fashion and innovation.

    Tobi, who was constantly cheered on as he chaperoned the show, appreciated the NTCA, adding that if such platforms existed when he was younger, he might had done better.

    According to him, “We would have done more with our creativity if platforms like this existed as it is exciting to know that people are around to cheer you up.”

    Tobi, who is also a photographer, actor and model, urged the older generation to join social media to view the works of young people and appreciate them.

    He said, “Our daddies and mummies, please join us on Instagram and Facebook, there is a lot happening there and support the younger ones.”

    Meanwhile, several exciting performances were displayed by upcoming teenage artists, some of whom were nominated for awards.

    The most notable awards for the night went to popular teenage producer and singer, Dr Jazz who won ‘Choice Producer of the Year’ and ‘Choice Male Vocalist’.

    Also, child star musician Queenyano Ohunene clinched the ‘Outstanding Young Female Artist of the Year’ award.

    Beginning from 2012, the NTCA has issued over 300 awards to young people including Seyi Shay, Davido, Praiz, Tekno and Korede Bello.

  • BBNaija’s Alex Unusual, IfuEnnada lead fans on PVC registration

     Alex Unusual and Ifu Ennada, BBNaija `Double Wahala” 2018 stars led some of their fans to register for Permanent Voters Card (PVC) in Lagos on Wednesday.

    The duo selected ten fans to accompany them on the ‘PVC Date’ which featured registration for PVC and a hangout afterwards.

    In a joint post on their Instagram pages @alex_unusual and @ifuennada, they wrote, “Your PVC is your choice. Make sure you get it.

    “There are several people we could vote into power, when we get to that bridge, we would cross it.

    “If this is successful, I will do more ‘PVC Dates’ but please don’t wait for me to get to your area.

    “Go out and get yours because registration is closing very soon,” they said.

    Ifu Ennada in another post thanked the fans who came out for the registration exercise after sharing a video of the ‘PVC Date’.

  • BBNaija: Alex urges young women to pursue their dreams

    Alex Asogwa a.k.a Alex Unusual, 3rd runner up BBNaija season 3, has urged young women to pursue their dreams, aspirations and make them a reality.

    She gave the advise at the “Dialogues and Cocktails 1.0’; a Real talk, Mentorship, Job and Networking programme for women between ages 18-40, organised by 360 Woman Africa, a personal development enterprise in Lagos at the Weekend.

    Alex, who spoke on the topic: ‘Road to Discovery: How real can it get,’’ advised participants to dream big and never let anyone or circumstances defined them.

    “You are never a failure except you make yourself one. “Failure is when you quit trying. Keep pushing: You should always find a way to be a better version of you,” the News Agency of Nigeria quotes Alex as saying.

    Alex who noted that the road to discovery was not an easy one, however advised participants to “put only the needed pressure on themselves and do away with the overdose.’’
