    Beyonce’s mum remarries

Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles 61, marries Richard Lawson on board a yacht in California, in an all-white wedding ceremony attended by Beyonce, Solange, Jay Z, and Blue Ivy,

Yesterday, Sunday, April 12, there was said to be around 300 guests gathering on a superyacht called “Eternity” for the celebrations. Jay Z is seen exiting a black SUV looking dapper in a white suit, while Queen Bey is snapped wearing a pretty white lace dress with matching headband, and little Blue Ivy is seen in the distance, also dressed in white.

It’s the second marriage for Tina, 61, who divorced husband Mathew Knowles in December 2011. Her new husband, Lawson, 67, is an actor, best known for his work on the soap All My Children. He also starred in the 1982 horror movie Poltergeist.

Just last November, Beyonce’s sister Solange married Alan Ferguson.

  • Beyonce, Jay Z celebrate wedding anniversary with new song

Beyonce, Jay Z celebrate wedding anniversary with new song

For celebrity couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, there is no better way to celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary than a romantic new song from the former, exclusively for the latter.

Titled Die With You, the Beyoncé’s song is a straight-up love song to her man. It had such emotional laden lines like, “I wake up just to sleep with you. I open my eyes so I can see with you. And I live so I can die with you,” she sings in a home-made clip that shows them in a personal moment.

The new video is exclusively on the music streaming service Tidal, that they just happen to be heavily involved in.

Jay Z, 45, launched Tidal on Monday along with 16 artiste stakeholders, including his wife, Rihanna, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Jason Aldean, Madonna, Coldplay and others.

This wedding anniversary gift to Jay Z, has been praised by fans of both artistes who just moved to Los Angeles with little daughter, Blue Ivy.

Meanwhile, there have been backlashes over the remix of the Destiny’s Child singer’s Jealous, which features  troubled singer, Chris Brown.

The Jealous remix made its way online on Thursday, April 2. And although Beyonce, 33, is yet to comment on the leaked song, she is facing significant backlash from those who take issue with her working with Brown.

The former Destiny’s Child singer used her Beyonce album to declare herself as a feminist, even using audio from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TED talk about feminism in her hit single, Flawless. But knowing Brown for what many described as women molestation, especially having left former girlfriend, Rihanna, with gruesome bruises after a domestic violence incident, many saw the move of aligning with the singer as standing in direct conflict to Beyonce’s feminist values.

“I never thought Beyonce could disappoint me – until she collaborated with Chris Brown,” a fan tweeted of Beyonce.

”I was really hoping the Beyoncé + Chris Brown collaboration was an April fool’s joke,” said another. “Let me get this straight….Beyoncé, a claimed feminist, made a remix with a man who beats a woman…okay,” said yet another.

  • Beyonce a fan of Fela Kuti?

Beyonce a fan of Fela Kuti?

Whoever knew that Beyonce is a fan of the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti? The-Dream, Beyonce’s song writer, revealed that he recorded an entire, unreleased album with Beyonce prior to 2011 LP 4. According to the producer behind hits “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” and “Run The World (Girls),” the project was inspired by Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

“We did a whole Fela album that didn’t go up,” Terius Nash (his real name) wrote in a lengthy annotation to the lyrics of “End Of Time.” “It was right before we did 4. We did a whole different sounding thing, about twenty songs,” he continued. “Beyonce said she wanted to do something that sounds like Fela. That’s why there’s so much of that sound in the ‘End of Time’.”

“There’s always multiple albums being made,” The-Dream wrote. “Most of the time we’re just being creative, period. We’re talking about B, somebody who sings all day long and somebody who writes all day long. There’s probably a hundred records just sitting around.”

  • Beyonce, Gaga to fight female poverty

Beyonce, Gaga to fight female poverty

36 prominent women including Beyonce Knowles and Lady Gaga have signed a petition calling Sunday on the G7 and the African Union to tackle female poverty.

The US singers as well as actresses Meryl Streep, Charlize Theron, Rosamund Pike and Rita Wilson signed the letter, issued on International Women’s Day.

The petition was organised by the London-based non-governmental organisation ONE, founded by U2 singer Bono.

It is addressed to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who hosts this year’s G7 summit in June, and South Africa’s Minister of Health Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the AU Commission chair. They are both convening a women’s summit this year.

“If your summits reach the right agreements, great financing and momentum around girls and women’s empowerment can be placed at the heart of the new global goals,” the petition says.

“Poverty is sexist, and we won’t end it unless we face up to the fact that girls and women get a raw deal, and until leaders and citizens around the world work together for real change.

“If we get this right, we could help lift every girl and woman out of poverty by 2030 — and by doing so we will lift everyone. Get this wrong and extreme poverty, inequality and instability might spread in the most vulnerable regions, impacting all our futures.”

ONE published a report which said women had not benefited as much as men from the progress made since 2000 in the fight against extreme poverty.

It said women still represented two thirds of the world’s illiterate population.

  • Jay Z, Beyonce still can’t find house in L.A

Jay Z, Beyonce still can’t find house in L.A

Singing couple, Jay Z and Beyonce who moved to Los Angeles, recently have not been able to find the perfect L.A home they desire to buy.

However, report says they haggled their way into a rental for $150K a month.

The couple who are said to have enrolled their daughter Blue Ivy, into a school in the Hollywood hub, are said to be familiar with the crib in ritzy Holmby Hills – it’s the same one they rented last summer on a short term lease – but real estate sources say they just locked it down for a full year.

We are told the power couple’s been itching to move out of the Beverly Hills area hotel where they’ve been living while house hunting – so they decided to go back to their old digs.

The rented apartment, a 7-bedroom, 9-bathroom and an infinity pool with a waterfall, is said to be on a 16,000 sq. ft. land.

It will be recalled that Jay Z and Beyonce paid $200,000/month for the pad last year, but were able to knock off $50,000/month, having dealt directly with the owner this time.

  • Beyonce, Jay Z relocate to L.A

Beyonce, Jay Z relocate to L.A

After losing a choice estate to a higher bidder in Los Angeles, singing couple – Beyonce and Jay Z – remain resolute with their decision to relocate to the Hollywood city. Although they are yet to get another place, they are currently living in a hotel in Beverly Hills, and have enrolled their daughter, Blue Ivy, in school, while looking for an estate to buy on the Westside of L.A.

Reports say they have already discreetly looked at a number of homes, but so far, none fit the bill. However, the tuition for three-year-old Ivy, for a toddler program at an elite private school is put at $15,080 a year.

In their determination to move, Ivy was admitted halfway through the school year, which is unusual, as the school generally accepts students at the beginning of the school year.

As for why they are moving, sources connected with the couple say they want “a change in lifestyle.” It will be recalled that Bey and Jay spent the summer in a $200K a month rental, near Beverly Hills.

There are indications they will keep their New York home.

The couple lost their first choice to a former Minecraft mastermind, Markus Persson, who swooped in andsealed the deal for $70M.

  • Beyonce, Jay Z sued by Hungarian singer

Beyonce, Jay Z sued by Hungarian singer

A lawsuit has been filed against BeyonceJay Z and Timbaland over the hit track “Drunk in Love,” New York Daily News reports.

The plaintiff Hungarian performer, Monika Miczura also known as Mitsou, filed the suit on Friday, claiming the Grammy-nominated single illegally used her vocals. Mitsou is seeking unspecified damages and demands distribution of “Drunk in Love” cease.

Mitsou claims that the a cappella first heard in the beginning of “Drunk in Love” was sampled from her 1995 song “Bajba, Bajba Pelem” and then digitally manipulated. According to the suit, these lifted vocals compromise 29 percent of the track.

“Mitsou’s incredible voice is widely considered unique and ethereal, and since the 1990’s, she has been in high demand for countless international collaborations as a featured guest singer,” the lawsuit contends.

Beyonce is no stranger to accusations of copyright infringement. In 2012, she was accused of plagiarizing the video for “Countdown” from a Belgian choreographer.

  • Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles set to wed

Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles set to wed

Solange Knowles, sister of pop diva Beyonce will tie the knot with her long term boyfriend Alan Ferguson this Sunday.

Ferguson, 51, is a music video director with a long standing relationship with Beyoncé and Jay Z, his future in-laws.

Not much is known about Sunday’s top-secret nuptials, but word on the street is the ceremony will be held in New Orleans, where Knowles, 28, lives with her 10-year-old son, Julez.

Solange will be following in her sister’s footsteps who similarly wed Jay Z in a secret ceremony in 2008.

This will be Solange Knowles’ second marriage. She was once married to Daniel Smith at the age of 17 — and divorced three years later.

  • Will Beyonce and Jay Z complete their on the run tour

Amidst all the intense divorce speculations, a New York Post report suggests that Beyoncé and Jay Z may not complete their On the Run tour, slated to run through mid-September due to the relationship problems that seemed to be the talk of the town since the famous Elevator-gate scandal with Solange.

According to The New York Post last Saturday, Live Nation, concert promoter, HBO, and at least four lawyers attended an emergency meeting Thursday to address the marriage issues between the couple as there is around $100 million at stake if it comes to an end.

Even though the concert executives wanted to release a statement, this was not possible as Beyoncé & Jay Z couldn’t agree on the wording.

According to the report Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino and HBO chief Richard Plepler wanted the meeting before “this becomes a public-relations nightmare. Rapino is pissed that everything is so out in the open and things are so heated,” the source said.

Apparently, things have reached such a low between Beyoncé & Jay Z that, while on tour, they are residing in different hotel rooms: “They’re not just staying in different hotel rooms, but they have booked separate hotels, and they arrive separately to each show,” the source claims.

Even though Jay’s “controlling ways” are the source of the blame for the conflict, the source said he doesn’t want Bey playing the victim, as he feels he is justified:

“They’ve had discussions lately about the inevitable sit-down interview when they finally do split, and Jay’s been adamant that he doesn’t want Beyoncé sitting down with Barbara Walters or Oprah Winfrey pretending to be the victim,” the source said.

If Beyoncé and Jay Z will eventually come clean and release an official statement, they have to consider the huge amount of money at stake before any announcement.
