    EPL: Late Axel Disasi goal earns Chelsea 2-2 draw with Brentford

    Axel Disasi scored a late header to rescue a point for Chelsea at Brentford in the Premier League.

    Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken gave away a cheap corner and his side were punished as Disasi rose to head in Cole Palmer’s cross with seven minutes remaining.

    Yoane Wissa scored a sensational acrobatic volley to put Brentford 2-1 in front, but they could not hold on for the three points.

    Sergio Reguilon’s cross into the box was headed away before Frank Onyeka flicked the ball up and Wissa contorted his body to finish superbly.

    Nicolas Jackson had earlier opened the scoring for the away side in the first half before Mads Roerslev equalised soon after the break.

    Brentford will face Luton Town at the Gtech Community Stadium in Premier League action on Saturday.

    Brentford have lost their last two league matches against Liverpool and Arsenal in the Premier League, and the home fans will be expecting a response from their players when they welcome Luton Town.

    Brentford have several injury problems heading into this contest. 

    Rico Henry is ruled out until the end of the season with knee injury. Aaron Hickey remains sidelined until January with a thigh issue.

    Joshua Dasilva and Mikkel Damsgaard should return to action next week. Meanwhile, Nathan Collins and Kevin Schade are injured as well. Ivan Toney remains suspended until mid-January, even as his stock continues to rise.

    Luton Town

    Luton Town will be without many players due to injury problems as well. Dan Potts is ruled out with an ankle injury until the end of the month. 

    Mads Andersen, Reece Burke and Albert Lokonga are ruled out with thigh injuries. Marvelous Nakamba remains long-term absentee with a knee injury.

    EPL: Brentford punish wasteful Chelsea

    Brentford held on for their third Premier League win of the season as goals from Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo sank a wasteful Chelsea in the West London derby at Stamford Bridge.

    The Blues, who missed several chances, were punished through Pinnock’s thumping header from Mbeumo’s wicked cross.

    With Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez up the field for a late corner, Neal Maupay led a Brentford counter-attack and set up Mbeumo for the Bees’ second.

    Chelsea, who went closest in the first half when Noni Madueke struck the woodwork, slipped to a ninth home defeat this year thanks to some poor finishing.

    Brentford keeper Mark Flekken was never truly stretched and they defended resolutely before hitting Chelsea on the break.
