    Afrobeats star Davido and his wife, Chioma have arrived in Miami for their upcoming white wedding ceremony.

    The couple’s romantic arrival was captured on video, showing them boarding a private jet adorned with welcome flowers and a special chair inscribed with “MRS”.

    Davido also shared a photo of himself in Miami, building anticipation for their special day.

    Recall that the Grammy-nominated singer had in April announced that the final lap of their marriage ceremony will be held in August without mentioning the date.

    According to reports, the wedding is expected to take place on Saturday.

    Davido’s uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has also arrived in the US to attend the ceremony, with the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed confirming Adeleke’s trip in a statement.

    Recall that Davido proposed to Chioma in 2019.

    Chioma, who was visibly touched by the lavish gift, broke down in tears.

    This isn’t the first time Davido has shown love and appreciation for Chioma. 

    Last year, he flew her to Jamaica for her 29th birthday and shut down Lagos for their traditional wedding, which was attended by prominent figures from the entertainment industry, dignitaries, and other notable personalities.

    Davido has also expressed his love and admiration for Chioma through heartfelt messages, referring to her as his best friend, confidant, and queen. 

    He vowed to fight anyone who messes with her and appreciates her strength and grace, which he says lifts him every day. 

    The couple, in 2023 welcomed twins, following the loss of their first son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.

    The singer also opened up about his initial concerns regarding introducing his children to Chioma, acknowledging that, despite his early fears, their relationship has only grown stronger with time.

    He said: “My wife has always had things over me since we were young. Every time I fight her, something bad happens to my business. If I fight her, she will say, ‘So you are fighting me, Abi? Your album is coming. Do you want to fight me?’ She has that grace over me. My kids love her, especially my daughter. There were times when I was scared to bring my kids around her, but there has been some growth”.

    He revealed that he and Chioma were together for 11 years before officially tying the knot and their relationship began when they were both teenagers, with Davido at 18 and Chioma at 17.

    They met while still in school, and Chioma eventually transitioned from being his girlfriend to his wife.

    During the interview, Davido opened up about the strength of their relationship, including the tragic loss of their son, Ifeanyi, in 2022.

    “My partner and I have been living together for a long time prior to getting married. I met her in my third year in college, and I was lucky enough for us to move in together early—about eight years before we got married,” he said.

    “The transition was smooth, but it’s different; getting married is no joke”, he added.

    “Throughout the time we were living together, I was touring and really on the road. She always understood what I did for work, and she knows I’m at my happiest when I work. She knows I love music as she loves being in the kitchen,” he added.
