The singer claimed not to have been alone with the women, insisting that he was playing music off his iPhone in the living room of the suite with 20 people around him the entire time the crime was alleged to have occurred.

According to TMZ news, a source in the judicial system of Paris disclosed that the R&B singer and actor was released with no conditions and free to leave the country is a sign authorities have problems with the case.

  • Chris Brown jail sentence extended

    Chris Brown jail sentence extended

Singer Chris Brown will serve an additional 131 days in jail after admitting to violating his probation, the BBC reports.

The R&B star admitted to a court in Los Angeles on Friday that he committed a crime in Washington DC last October.

The Los Angeles judge sentenced Brown to 365 days but gave him credit for 234 days he has spent in rehabilitation and jail.

Brown has been under court supervision since 2009 when he pleaded guilty to assaulting pop singer Rihanna, who was his girlfriend at the time.

The Grammy winner has been in custody since March, when he was arrested over alleged violations of his rehabilitation sentence.

His latest probation violation relates to an altercation in the nation’s capital last year.

Brown faces a misdemeanour assault charge after a man accused the singer of punching him outside a Washington hotel.

  • Chris Brown remains in rehab despite improvement

Volatile musician Chris Brown has been ordered by a Los Angeles judge, James Brandlin, to remain in anger management and a drug rehabilitation programme, until his trial in April.

The controversial singer, among other similar faults, allegedly attacked a 20-year-old student in Washington.

Although the singer has reportedly responded well to therapy, the judge instructed him to continue receiving treatment until he stands trial for assault, next month.

Brown was said to cut a serene figure at last Friday’s court hearing, appearing healthy and even seeming to meditate during a pause in proceedings.

His parole officer told the judge that the 24-year-old singer continues to make great improvement, by attending six to eight therapy sessions each week and passing all of his drug tests.

According to officials from Brown’s luxury rehab facility, Brown is grappling with other issues, including an untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and post-traumatic stress disorder. These, according to the officials, were responsible for the artiste’s aggressiveness.

“He is now learning behavioural strategies,” they said, including relaxation exercises to help him manage his impulsive behaviour.

Since first checking into rehab in November, Brown left once and was sent back. He also had his probation revoked twice. Even as he receives treatment, Brown is spending about three days a week on community service duty, tidying highways as part of the sentence from his 2009 attack on Rihanna. About 750 hours of labour is yet to be fulfilled.

The singer also risks being sent to jail through a couple of different means, including the trial in mid-April, for attacking the minor.

Regardless of the outcome of that case, Brandlin will rule separately, on April 23, whether Brown must go to jail for violating his probation.

“Never really goes the way u plan. #LIFE,” Brown tweeted after the court session last Friday. His sixth album, X, will be released on May 5.

  • Chris Brown to stay in rehab instead of jail

Chris Brown to stay in rehab instead of jail

he five-year-old assault case against R&B singer Chris Brown came to the fore again, with a judge turning down calls to send the singer, who is presently in rehab, to jail.

The arbitrator, James R. Brandlin, a Superior Court judge, denied the prosecution’s request, citing the star’s good behaviour and progress in rehabilitation.

Brown was sentenced to three months of in-patient rehab in November, after he was arrested and charged for a fight allegedly with a bodyguard in Washington DC.

The singer agreed to the terms of the rehab conditions, which were suggested by probation officers overseeing a pending sentence for attacking his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

One of those arguing the singer should be jailed was Los Angeles Prosecutor Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray, who posited that Brown was a danger to society.

Murray wanted Brown to be jailed at Monday’s hearing and called for a full probation violation hearing, which would have resulted in evidence about the DC case being presented to Judge Brandlin.

The prosecutor cited the DC case and an incident in which Brown threw a brick through his mother’s car window after a therapy session in November when she suggested he needed to remain in treatment.

Murray said she made the motion because she had information about the man whose nose was allegedly broken in the attack, which is said to have involved Brown and his bodyguard.

However, Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos argued that the recent changes in Brown’s behaviour were positive and the court should wait to see how the DC case was resolved before having an evidentiary hearing.

Probation officials reported that Brown “appears to have a more serious and responsible demeanour”, since checking into rehab. And Judge Brandlin has requested an update on the singer’s progress.

The case is due back in court on February 28.

  • Chris Brown craves anger management

    Chris Brown craves anger management

24-YEAR-OLD American recording artiste, dancer and actor, Chris Brown, who is out of police custody after reportedly breaking a man’s nose in Washington DC, has volunteered himself for rehabilitation, just so he could learn to manage his anger.

A statement from a representative of the controversial artiste said; “Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility. His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behaviour, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.”

This is coming just weeks before his court date in relation to his 2009 assault on ex-girlfriend, Rihanna. A man, Adams Parker, claimed that Chris broke his nose. Although the singer denied attacking the complainant, his charges were downgraded to a misdemeanour following conflicting witness accounts.

The man he assaulted is said to be receiving treatment in hospital, and has said he would need surgery on his nose.

Brown’s lawyers are concerned that the charge could still violate his parole conditions and jeopardise his current freedom as the Los Angeles Police Department are currently launching an investigation into the matter.

A source close to the artiste told E! News that Brown was a ‘good kid’ at heart, but what he really needed was a rehab and intensive therapy. “He needs help,” the source said. “He keeps self-medicating with weed and alcohol and that’s when he always gets in trouble.”

But police investigation on the Washington scuffle stated that the singer was not under the influence of drugs. Brown is no stranger to getting in trouble with the law. Since his infamous assault on Rihanna, he has been embroiled in a string of violent offences, including altercations with rapper Drake and singer Frank Ocean.
