The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the draw for the preliminary rounds of the 2025–2026 CAF Inter Club Competitions will take place on August 12  in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Nigeria will be represented by four clubs: Remo Stars, Rivers United, Abia Warriors, and Kwara United.

Remo Stars, champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), will feature in the CAF Champions League, while Rivers United, runners-up in the NPFL, will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup. Abia Warriors (3^rd  place in NPFL) and Kwara United (winners of the President Federation Cup) will also participate in the CAF competitions, with their respective tournaments to be officially confirmed.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) extends its best wishes to all four clubs as they prepare to represent the nation on the continental stage.

Preliminary Rounds

First Round: September 19–21 (1^st  leg), September 26–28 (2^nd  leg)

Second Round: October 17–19 (1^st  leg), October 24–26 (2^nd  leg)

Group Stage

Matchday 1: November 21–23, 2025

Matchday 2: November 28–30, 2025

Matchday 3: January 23–25, 2026

Matchday 4: January 30 – February 1, 2026

Matchday 5: February 6–8, 2026

Matchday 6: February 13–15, 2026

Knockout Stage

Quarterfinals: March 13–15 (1^st  leg), March 20–22 (2^nd  leg)

Semifinals: April 10–12 (1^st  leg), April 17–19 (2^nd  leg)

Final: May 8–24, 2026

Nigeria’s representatives in the 2024/25 CAF Inter Club Competitions, Rangers International FC, Remo Stars, Enyimba FC and El-Kanemi Warriors will tomorrow know their opponents in the preliminary round of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

The official draw will be held in Cairo  at 2:00 pm Egyptian  local time, where all participating clubs will know their fate as the preliminary stage kicks off in August.

Rangers International FC returned to continent after winning 2023/2024 Nigeria Professional football league following their participation in the 2019-20 CAF Confederation Cup where they got to the group stage before elimination. 

Under the guidance of Fidelis Ilechukwu Rangers defied expectations to claim the Nigerian top-flight crown since they last won it in 2016

Remo Stars will be making second successive CAF Champions League appearance and third straight season on the continent. They will be hoping to halt their early elimination in Africa. 

They were knocked out by Ghanaian side Medeama SC last season in the first round.

While Enyimba FC and El-Kanemi Warriors will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Enyimba FC finished third in the just concluded Nigeria Professional football league.

While El-Kanemi Warriors picked continental ticket after winning 2024 President Federation Cup. It would be the first time the Borno Army would be on the continent in over 30 years.
