The bold front grille and the muscular bonnet hint at the performance potential of its supercharged V6 petrol engines. Elements, such as slender full-LED headlights, forged 22-inch wheels and short front overhang carry the design vision of the C-X17 concept through to production.

The All-New F-PACE sits five occupants in comfort. The interior is a blend of premium materials and finishes, exquisite detailing, luxuries, such as heated, electrically reclining rear seats, and cutting-edge technologies including the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system and 12.3-inch HD virtual instrument cluster.

The lightweight aluminium architecture gave the design and engineering teams the ideal starting point. It was created from the outset as a modular structure, so the wheels can be positioned  where they are needed to deliver the proportions, dynamics, and practicality essential for a performance SUV.

The wheelbase and track are not shared with any other Jaguar. At 4,731mm long and with a 2,874mm wheelbase, the F-PACE offers the sleek profile and short front overhang characteristic of Jaguar design together with an exceptionally spacious interior.

Rear knee-room is class-leading and the luggage compartment has up to 650 litres* of storage space.

This year’s Yuletide season promises to be an interesting one for vehicle shoppers as Coscharis Motors, a foremost automobile dealer and representatives of Ford Motor Company in Nigeria, has announced that it will run the Extended Service Plan (ESP) sales promotion until January 2, 2015. The ESP package offers free service for 4 years or 120,000 kilometres whichever comes first, to customers who purchase qualified variants of the Ford brand from Coscharis Motors or any of its accredited distributors nation-wide.

The ESP is a package which allows the buyers of a qualified Ford variant to own the vehicle for four years or 120,000 kilometres, whichever comes first, without worry as he need not spend a kobo to service the vehicle throughout the life span of the ESP.

Customers, Coscharis Group Managing Director of Coscharis Motors, Mr Josiah Samuel, should drive the vehicle to any Coscharis Motors service centre nationwide to get the vehicle serviced and drive away thereafter without paying a kobo.

Among the freebies to be enjoyed by customers are oil change, tyre rotation, brake pads, wiper blades, belts and hoses and shocks

Samuel explained that the ESP promo which first came up in 2011 has become one of the longest running promos in the Nigerian automobile arena due to persistent demand for its re-run by customers. He stated that the free ESP only strives to achieve the continued realisation of the vision Henry Ford had over 100 years ago, which seeks to make automobile available and affordable to all mankind.

“Another reason for the offer is our desire to take over our customers’ worries about vehicle maintenance and free their minds so that they can focus more on the accomplishment of their primary objectives in business and leisure,” Samuel said.

  • Coscharis begins free service registration

    Coscharis begins free service registration

Coscharis Motors is making it easier for non-customer who drives any of the company’s brand vehicles to enjoy free registration by dropping the registration fee to zero. This means anyone can bring his or her BMW, MINI, Jaguar, Land Rover, MG, Ford or Rolls – Royce vehicle for service without any registration fee.

According to the Group Managing Director, Josiah Samuel, “this is to give the opportunity to users of the various automobile brands we represent in Nigeria that did not purchase their vehicle from our dealership to experience our world class after sales offerings. As we had over the years invested in both our technicians and facilities to meet the manufacturer’s specifications, our after sales charges for this category of users that ordinarily would have attracted the registration fees is now waived to accommodate everyone till end of the year.”

However, these vehicles will have to be checked and evaluated prior to accepting them for repairs.

The essence of waiving the registration fee, Samuel said, is to equally help control the negative experiences of owners of the brands in the hands of quack technicians lacking the requisite skill and programming equipments needed for quality repairs which ultimately give negative perception about the brand image.

He reiterated Coscharis’ commitment to help ease customers and prospects vehicle ownership and maintenance over a reasonable period of time.

The free registration is complemented with free routine vehicle checks to diagnose the total state of the vehicle.

For new vehicle buyers, there is also consideration for free insurance and free registration across all our brands.

  • Auto dealers seek Senate’s intervention on new policy

•Senate petitioned on ‘breach of policy’

Vehicles dealers are pushing for an extension of the deadline for the implementation of the National Automotive Policy, which they say will affect their trade negatively and give their competitors an unfair advantage.

The Auto Manufacturers Representative Group petitioned the Senate over alleged “insider abuse” of the policy by Stallion Group of Companies.

The group, which met with the Senate Committee on Trade, requested the upper chamber to prevail on the government to extend the deadline for the implementation of the policy by at least 24 months.

Coscharis Motors boss Cosmas Maduka, who spoke on behalf of other members, said they decided to ask for more time to enable industry players take the policy to their principals.

Maduka also said members of the group wanted a level playing field to avoid a situation where a single player will run others out.

He noted that Stallion Group, within 24 hours of the announcement of the policy, registered Form M for the importation of over 14,000 cars.

He said the government should guard against “unnecessary monopoly”.

Minister of Trade and Investment Olusegun Aganga said the group was with him on Monday.

Aganga, who said the group did not oppose the policy, said the complaints of the auto dealers would be “looked into”.

Maduka said: “There was a policy on automobile promulgated by the Federal Government, a new way to go for Nigeria automobile industry, which is welcome by all the Automobile Manufacturers Association of Nigeria.

“But all we are asking is an extension of the deadline because we just heard about the policy.

“The policy was promulgated on October 2 and the deadline was on October 3. There was a transformation that took place in the banking sector. Banks were asked to raise their capital and time was given to them to comply.

“This is about investment; we need to talk to our principals – Toyota Japan, BMW Munich AG, KIA Motors of Korea and others.

“We need to show them that this is government policy; please, queue up.

“If you don’t queue up, you will lose your market share. They will study this policy and tell us what they want to do.

“That is all we are asking government, please, give us time to talk to our principals and come up with our own plan, but put up your own deadline whether we meet it or not that is our own business.

“But don’t tell us it is already started when you are talking to us today. We are not spirits, there is no way we could have known what you wanted to do.

“To worsen the matter, one of the players in the industry had insider information about the government policy which, for us, is criminal.

“Under 24 hours of the announcement of the policy, the player went and registered Form M for over 14,000 units of vehicles and opened LC to import cars on the old duty while the rest of us will pay 70 per cent as the case may be to be able to import the same cars.

“How do we compete in the same market?

“All we are asking for is that all players should be made to pay the current duty or we should be given time to meet up so that we can also register our own Form M and do our business.

“We are saying don’t encourage monopoly by giving one person undue advantage. A transparent policy that gives a level playing ground to everybody is all we are asking for.

“By 18 or 24 months from today we know those who are ready to play this game.”

The petition, titled “Re: Measures to transform the Nigerian automotive industry and attract investment into the sector” was signed by representatives of Toyota (Nigeria) Limited, CFAO Automotive Group, Mercedes Benz Nigeria, Globe Motors Holdings, KIA Motors Nigeria, Coscharis Group, Kewalram Chanrai Group and Briscoe Ford.

The chairman of the Senate Committee, Odion Ugbesia, said the committee would look into the group’s complaints.

Ugbesia also said the group must tell the government the value it planned to bring into the sector for the benefit of the country.
