  • Coscharis, Ford announce sponsorship for Titan TV show

    Coscharis Motors and Ford Motor Company have announced their continued sponsorship of entrepreneurial reality TV show, The Next Titan, for the third consecutive season.

    The winner of Season 5 will receive a brand new Ford Focus to help them run their business more efficiently.

    Coscharis Motors is the sole distributor of new Ford vehicles in Nigeria. Coscharis Motors and Ford sponsored The Next Titan in 2016 and 2017.

    The Next Titan, now in its fifth season, is a platform for young entrepreneurs to demonstrate their talent in business . The primary purpose of the programme is to challenge the public’s perception of entrepreneurship, awaken the nation’s entrepreneurial spirit, inspire contestants and viewers to strive for success in business, and become masters of their own destinies.

    Sixteen participants, between the ages of 21 and 40, will battle one another for 10 weeks in various business tasks, such as strategy, sales, marketing, and promotions.

     

  • Coscharis launches Ford Escape at Motor Show

    Coscharis Motors, distributor of Ford vehicles in Nigeria, has unveiled the new Ford Escape Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) at the ongoing Lagos International Motor Show in Victoria Island.

    Visitors to the stand also had the opportunity to view the Ford Ranger pick-up truck, and the stylish Ford Edge and Ford Explorer SUVs. Ford is the second largest SUV brand in the world, and every model is backed by the global automaker’s SUV expertise, and robust 50-year heritage in the segment.

    The new Escape features Ford’s latest design language for a bold, smart look that is shared with the brand’s other SUVs.

    Its large, upper trapezoidal grille, and a smaller lower grille, are flanked by sleek new headlamps, incorporating optional daytime running lights, complemented by functional, stylish fog lamps.

    “Ford designers went to great lengths to ensure the vehicle and its many features – large and small – are smart, and provide welcome benefits to daily routines. The hands-free Power Tailgate, for example, is something customers have really grown to appreciate, and it is available as an option across the Escape range.     The latest Ford technologies and sophisticated body engineering help drivers see more clearly, and enhance safety on the road for both vehicle occupants and other road users. The Adaptive Front Lighting System – depending on the Escape model – monitors ambient light conditions, and automatically optimises visibility by adjusting the beam angle of the new optional Bi-Xenon headlights, depending on the vehicle’s speed, steering angle, and distance to an object in front. It features anti-glare capability, as well as country road, City Street, and manoeuvring beam shaping abilities.

    An enhanced version of Ford’s Active City Stop collision avoidance system, and the New Perpendicular Parking functionality, which uses additional ultrasonic sensors at the push of a button, alongside the semi-autonomous Active Park Assist technology, are also available as options.

    Coscharis Motors Plc,  BMW brand representative in Nigeria, has ended the celebration of love with its customers through the Valentine Special promo for select BMW variants.

    It started on February 12 and ended on February 19.

    The Valentine promo was intended to show its love commitment to customers and prospects alike.

    “We were celebrating the love season with a special price package for the BMW 435, BMW 218, BMW 6 Series and some MINI cars. In addition to the special price package, we were further offering free one- year service plan, free registration and free weekend demo to buyers of any BMW variant within this period,” Coscharis Group General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Abiona Babarinde said.

    Coscharis presents Ford Ranger to Titan winner

    Ford Motor Company, in collaboration with its local distributor Coscharis Motors, has presented a Ford Ranger to Iyeh Kennedy, winner of the Next Titan, Season 4. The winner was announced last December 10.

    Coscharis Motors General Manager Marketing Abiona Babarinde congratulated Kennedy on his achievement, saying: “We are proud to be a sponsor of the Next Titan, and to hand over a Ford Ranger to the winner, to support his existing business.”

    The 2.2-litre diesel XLT model 4×4 double cab is worth N16 million.

    The Next Titan, the fourth season of which premiered last October, is a global standard television platform designed to educate young Nigerians about entrepreneurship, encouraging them to consider this as a career path, and helping to reduce the high rate of unemployment.

    Sixteen participants, between 21 and 39, challenged one another for 10 weeks in various business tasks, including strategy, sales, marketing, and promotions. During the competition, participants and viewers had the opportunity to interpret real-life entrepreneurial challenges through informal training, and to learn from top business leaders how to start or grow their own businesses.

  • Award galore for Coscharis brands

    A Coscharis group, the nation’s conglomerate that plays in diverse sectors of the economy – automobile, information technology, logistics, beverages, agro-allied amongst others,  has cause to celebrate ending the challenging year with recognitions in terms of various awards across their business interest.

    Coscharis was recognised with the award as one of the top 50 brands in Nigeria based on Brand Strength Measurement and BSM index.

    The Ford Ranger which is now assembled at the Coscharis Motor Assembly in Nigeria, also won the Auto Brand of the Year at the Marketing World Awards held in Ghana.

    To cap it up, Coscharis carted home three awards at the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.

  • Coscharis trains Riders for Health members

    Ford Motor Company in conjunction with its dealer, Coscharis Motors, hosted members of Riders for Health Nigeria (Riders) on Ford’s Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) training programme.

    The event took place last  Friday at the Coscharis Motors head office in Lekki.

    The DSFL programme is a global programme aimed at educating drivers about road safety and providing them with safety tips on how to stay safe behind the wheel.

    Participants got the opportunity to gain insight on departure angles, brake distance on gravel and the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and how to use other four-wheel drive functions such as traction control, hill control and locking differential. The Ford Figo and Ranger were used during the DSFL training.

    Coscharis Motors General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications Abiona Babarinde, said: “Ford and Coscharis Motors are very pleased to offer Riders road safety tool in the form of the Driving Skills for Life programme and expand our efforts in promoting safe driving. The team at Coscharis Motor’s completed Ford’s DSFL train the trainer programme and it’s through the knowledge and skills transferred to us that we can continue educating Nigerians on road safety.”

    Country Director for Riders for Health Nigeria Ajayi Kayode said Riders is an international organisation working to improve the capacity and efficiency of health care delivery systems in Africa by ensuring that health workers have uninterrupted access to reliable transportation especially to marginalised and rural communities.

    Kayode said: “We believe that the training will assist with educating our members on road safety, driving techniques, accident prevention and manoeuvres for urban and off-road driving. It’s important to ensure our health workers are safe on the roads when providing much needed medication to communities in rural Nigeria.” Early this year, Ford sponsored two Ford Rangers to Riders in Nigeria as part of the organisation’s Project Better World.

    Riders for Health uses over 70 Ford vehicles across six African countries – Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, The Gambia, Malawi, and Zambia.

    Auto lovers at BMW Club 2017 Bimmerfest were thrilled by the new BMW 5 Series.

    The car was brought to the event held at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island Lagos, by Coscharis Motors Plc in partnership with BMW Club Nigeria.

    It was aimed at celebrating BMW achievements and its enthusiasts across the country while highlighting BMW performance.

    Coscharis Group General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Abiona Babarinde, said the essence of the collaboration with the BMW Club Nigeria was to create an enabling environment for BMW owners and fans in Nigeria.

    One of the key highlights of the event was when Coscharis BMW National Sales Manager, Joseph Omokhapue, demonstrated some of the unique features in the new BMW 5 series.

    The car offers the driver unbeatable support – not only at critical moments but also in less demanding situations at the wheel, such as traffic jams, slow-moving traffic and monotonous stretches of motorway.

    The 5 Series is fitted as standard with a stereo camera, which teams up with optional radar and ultrasound sensors to monitor the area around the car.

    New features in the BMW 5 Series alongside the evasion aid and crossing traffic warning are the Lane Change Assistant and Lane Keeping Assistant with active side collision protection.

    “The latter keeps an eye on the lane markings and the area around the car, and actively helps the driver to avoid looming collisions by applying corrective steering inputs. Similarly, the Park Assist helps the car to identify available space and park itself with minimal or no assistance from the driver,” Omokhapue said.

    transport/logistics business and flagged off a rides and rewards promotion for loyal customers who patronises the online platform.

    Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, the Executive Director, CHISCO Group of Companies Mr Obinna Anyaegbu said the new booking solution is to promote contactless ticketing, improve operational efficiency and create better experiences for its customers.

    Anyaegbu said the pervading influence of digitisation which has put the power of choice amidst diverse options of available transport operators on the customers necessitated the 35 year-old company to raise the bar and meet customers on their turf.

  • Coscharis Motors to introduce JAGUAR F Pace SUV

    Jaguar’s first ever family Sports Utility Vehicle will be officially unveiled in Nigeria by Coscharis Motors on Thursday at Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.

    The unveiling will be in partnership with Tech+ during an exclusive dinner opening ceremony for event partners.

    The F Pace has become the manufacturer’s fastest-selling vehicle. In the first 10 months on sale, more than 14,000 orders have been placed, with all 2,000 First Edition vehicles sold out. The Jaguar F-PACE is Jaguar’s first performance crossover and its lightweight body structure comprises 80 per cent aluminium. It is the only aluminium-intensive design in its sector and is manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull Plant in the UK.

    According to the Coscharis Jaguar Land Rover Marketing Manager, Aregbeshola Cletus, a follow up test drive plan has been scheduled for the last week of July, especially for customers who would have indicated interest during the launch.

    Coscharis woos customers with freebies for new Explorer, Figo, Ranger

    Coscharis Motors has unveiled the 2016 edition of the Ford Explorer with a new package called Ford Protect aimed at encouraging more luxury vehicle buyers to patronise the company.

    The premium model was launched in Lagos along with 2016 Ford Figo and Ranger.

    Apart from a number of unique features coming with the new Explorer, the Group Managing Director, Coscharis Motors, Mr. Josiah Samuel, said the Ford Protect package would cover free maintenance service for a period of four years or 120,000km.

    Samuel, who was represented by the firm’s General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Services, Mr. Abiona Babarinde, gave other benefits of the package as free oil change, brake pad, wiper blade, shock absorber, among other major things that could go wrong with new vehicles within the period of coverage.

    He said the Ford Protect, a package initiated by the Ford manufacturer, replaced the Extended Service Plan that was put in place before now exclusive for select Ford models.

    Although Samuel noted that the manufacturer had approved the package for use in all Ford models, the facility would be available for Ford vehicles sold in Nigeria by Coscharis Motors.

    He, however, said the package would not attract extra cost from the vehicle buyers, adding that it was meant to be added advantage for the Coscharis customers.

    “The ESP was restricted to certain vehicles but the Ford Protect covers all models of the brand. For us at the Coscharis Motors, it is starting with the 2016 models of the Explorer and Figo as well as Ranger being unveiled here today,” the GMD said.

    Ford Sales Manager Fabian Anuforo, said the Explorer had been one of the highest selling Ford models in the country, attributing the sales to the luxury features, comfort and general performance.

    The Explorer is a three-row sport utility that seats up to seven and which comes in five trim levels.

    “Powering the vehicle is a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 (EcoBoost) engine that outputs 365 hp (272 kW) and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of torque,” it said.

    The manufacturer said for the vehicle, the six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive were standard.

    “This powertrain should be familiar to Ford F-150 fans as the most popular option in those trucks,” it stated.

    He recalled, “In 2001 when we started the Ford brand in Nigeria, it was a tug of war to sell a unit. The worry then was its maintenance. Today, the story has changed; people in search of Ford vehicles now look for us.”

    The new Ford Explorer has a number of special features such as keyless entry and for starting the engine while outside the vehicle. Others are Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert that alerts you to vehicles in your blind spots; Hill Descent Control for extra control and confidence when on a downslope; and the Available Intelligent 4WD continuously monitors wheel speed, throttle position and steering angle to determine the vehicle’s conditions and the driver’s intent.
