    Exchanger101, one of Nigeria’s leading cryptocurrency and gift card exchanges, has unveiled a new promotional system designed to provide added value to its customers and boost trading activity.

    The company, founded in 2016, recently celebrated its seventh year in operation with the launch of multiple reward programs aimed at expressing gratitude to its loyal customers.

    As part of the reward program, Exchanger101 will award ₦50,000 weekly to its top cryptocurrency traders.

    Announcements regarding the winners will be made through the platform’s app, with all registered customers automatically eligible for participation. Additionally, Exchanger101 will honor its top 10 gift card traders each month with a total prize pool of ₦250,000. A leaderboard will be accessible to customers, providing transparency on their rankings.

    Furthermore, the platform will introduce a unique promotion where the top 10 crypto traders at the end of each month will receive ₦1 in cashback for every Dollar traded on the platform. Anthony confirmed that the company will closely monitor the impact of this promotion and may consider doubling the rewards by early 2024.

    Turkish court jails crypto currency boss 11,196 years

    A Turkish crypto currency boss and his two siblings have been jailed for 11,196 years each for defrauding investors of millions of dollars in what is considered  one of the world’s craziest and longest prison sentences.

    Faruk Fatih Ozer, 29, fled to Albania in 2021 with investor assets after his Thodex exchange suddenly collapsed.

    He was sent  back to Turkey last  June and found guilty of money-laundering, fraud and organised crime.

    Ozer told the court he would “not have acted so amateurishly” if his intent was criminal.

    “I am smart enough to lead any institution on earth,” the state-owned Anadolu agency quoted him as saying.

    “That is evident in this company I established at the age of 22.”

    The brief trial in Istanbul also found his sister Serap and brother Guven guilty of the same charges.

    Such extraordinary prison sentences are common in Turkey since the abolition of the death penalty in 2004 to aid efforts to join the European Union.

    Adnan Oktar, a TV cult preacher, was jailed for 8,658 years in 2022 for fraud and sex crimes. Ten of his followers received the same sentence.

    Prosecutors wanted  Ozer to be sentenced to 40,562 years in prison.

    Thai business executive Chamoy Thipyaso,is listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as having received the longest prison sentence in history.

    He was jailed 141,000 years last year for  running a Ponzi scheme that defrauded thousands of people.

    There is also the American,Terry Nichols, who got 161 life sentences for the April 19,1995 Oklahoma City bombing .

    Another American mass murderer, James Holmes, received 12 life sentences plus 3,318 years for killing 12 people in Aurora, Colorado in 2012 and injured 70 others.

    He got 12 life sentences, one for each person he killed and an additional 3,318 years for everyone he intended to kill with explosives.
