    Russian champions CSKA Moscow on Monday confirmed interests from England for Nigeria international Ahmed Musa, but said nothing has been signed yet.

    Musa has been the subject of interest from English champions Leicester City, with several other clubs also mentioned to be interested in his services.

    “I cannot say yes or no.  It is no secret that Musa was and remains in very serious demand, particularly from the English teams,” africanFootball.com quoted CSKA chief Roman Babayev as saying to championat.

    “Until documents are signed, the transfer is not complete and I will not speak about it.”

    Super Eagles striker, Aaron Samuel, has said he hopes to seal a permanent contract with top Russian club, CSKA Moscow.

    Samuel, who is currently on loan at CSKA Moscow, has scored two goals in the Russian Premier League.

    The striker also expressed hope of recovering fully from his knee injury in September.

    “Yes I would like to stay,” he told africanFootball.com.

    “I would like to stay on but we just have to see how things turn out.”

    The striker also explained why it took him some time to get going in Russia.

    “I was new to the team and to the league and they had to introduce me gradually,” he added.

    Director General of CSKA Moscow, Roman Babayev, has said the club will listen to offers for Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, when the transfer market reopens in June.

    CSKA Moscow, allnigeriasoccer.com reports will accept bids in the region of 24 million euros for Musa.

    The club turned down at least two bids from English Premier League side, Leicester City in the winter transfer market because officials were not prepared to sell the winger this season.

    “It is not right to keep the player when he has offers from the Premier League for the right price,” allnigeriasoccer.com quoted Babayev as saying to championat.com.

    “Several English clubs are actively interested in Musa. And not just English sides. Footballer faithfully served CSKA and not to let him go to the best league of the world from our side would be incorrect.”

    The president of CSKA Moscow, Yevgeny Giner, on Friday said bigger clubs than the English Premier League side, Leicester City, will come for Nigeria skipper Ahmed Musa in the summer.

    Leicester tabled an 18 million pounds bid for Musa in January and is reportedly ready to spend more in the summer to get CSKA Moscow star, africanFootball.com reports.

    Manchester United has also been linked with the 23-year-old striker, whose release clause is estimated at 23 million pounds.

    “Musa is a strong forward who can cover three positions and I’m sure that in the summer, there will be bigger clubs coming in for him,” Giner said.

    The CSKA chief also revealed he blocked the Nigeriam star from moving last month because he is crucial to the team’s push for the Russian league title.

    “We talked to Musa and he understood that he needed to finish the season with us because we stand a good chance of becoming champions,” he said.

    Russian Premier League side, CSKA Moscow has announced the loan signing of Super Eagles striker, Aaron Samuel until end of the season, with option to make the move permanent in the summer.

    CSKA Moscow is Samuel’s fourth club outside Nigeria following spells with Vålerenga and Sarpsborg before he moved to the Chinese league, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

    Ahead of the resumption of the Russian Premier League, Samuel linked up with the Army men at the club training camp in Marbella, Spain last Tuesday.

    He has been handed the number 99 jersey for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

    Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa, has said he is looking forward to CSKA Moscow starting its campaign in the group stage of UEFA Champions League on a good note.

    The Russian team will on Tuesday evening face Wolfsburg in Germany.

    Manchester United and PSV Eindhoven are the other teams in the group.

    “We’re battle ready and just waiting for the game. We are here in Germany with high hopes and good spirit,” Musa told africanFootball.com

    “We want to start the group stage on a good note. Our aim is to win here against Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg club is a good side too, but we have a target and we are working towards it. I will do my best to make that happen.”

    Musa has scored four goals in the Champions League including the goal that qualified for Russian army to the mini-league stage of the competition.

    Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa and Kehinde Fatai will come face-to-face in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round after their clubs were drawn against each other on Friday, africanFootball.com reports.

    Both players were born in Jos, Plateau State and started their professional football career with defunct JUTH FC of Jos.

    Musa will lead the attack line of CSKA Moscow against Sparta Prague, whose attack will be spearheaded by Fatai.

    Kingsley Madu and Rabiu Ibrahim will hope their Slovak club AC Trenčín beat Staeua Bucureşti to set up a clash with winners of the game between FK Partizan and FC Dila Gori.

    Ridwan Hasan and Paul Onuachu of Danish club FC Midtjylland battle Lincoln FC to face either APOEL FC (CYP) or FK Vardar (MKD).

    Nosa Igiebor will lead Maccabi Tel Aviv against Hibernians FC for the ticket to face FC Viktoria Plzeň.

    CSKA will survive Champions’ League group stage – Musa

    Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa, has said his Russian club CSKA Moscow can go past the group stage of the UEFA Champions League after shocking Manchester City on Wednesday.

    CSKA stunned English Premier League champions City 2-1 to now have four points from as many matches.

    The Nigerian international said the win at City has boosted the team’s chances of qualifying for the knockout stage of the Champions League, africanFootball.com reports.

    The Russian champions host second-placed Roma, who also have four points from as many matches, on November 25 in continuation of the competition.

    “We have a very big chance of qualifying after winning on Wednesday. We have to just go back home and work very hard to see if we can win the next home game. With the victory today we have very big confidence,” africanFootball.com quoted the winger as saying after the match.

    “I am not surprised because we [saw] in Moscow that we could win this game. That is why you saw that we played a very good game.”

    The Nigeria star also saluted Cote d’Ivoire star, Seydou Doumbia, who scored the two goals against Manchester City.

    “[Doumbia] is very good. He had a great game and he gave us the win so I am very happy about that,” he praised.

    Musa himself was outstanding in the game and was handful for City star Gael Clichy.

    CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa has missed out on winning the Most Valuable Player in the Russian Premier League for the eighth round of matches.

    The in-form Nigeria international has notched up four goals in his last four games for the Muscovites, including the winner against city rivals Lokomotiv Moscow this past weekend.

    The 21-year-old was recognized by the Russian Football Federation in partnership with Championat.com after both organizations nominated him alongside Salomon Rondon (Zenith St Petersburg), Alexei Ionov (Dynamo Moscow), Oleg Ivanov (Terek) and Jose Jurado (Spartak Moscow).

    They were joined on the nine-man shortlist by Danilo (Kuban), Zhoaozino (Krasnodar), Andrey Semenov (Terek) and David Yurchenko (Ufa).

    Zenith St Petersburg’s striker Salomon Rondon (30%) was awarded the MVP in the Championship ahead of Aleksei Ionov, Jose Jurado and Ahmed Musa,who mustered nine percent of the 2,793 votes.

    The award is voted on by experts, journalists and representatives of the Premier League as well as readers of the portal.

    Ahmed Musa also failed to win the RPL Player of the Week when he was shortlisted in October 2012 and March 2013.

    Nigeria international, Ahmed Musa on Sunday  scored the winner for CSKA Moscow to beat visiting Kuban Krasnodar and take them to the top of the Russian league.
    CSKA Moscow lead the table with 11 points from five matches pending the outcome of other games later on Sunday.
    Former JUTH FC and Kano Pillars star Ahmed Musa told MTNFootball.com he is delighted with his match winner.
    “I am excited with the goal, it was an important one for us as we won the game. I will keep doing my best for my club to see that we win our games. I am just doing my job to the best of my ability. It was not an easy match,” he said.
    Ahmed Musa returned to Russia to join his team on Friday night after helping Nigeria to beat South Africa in a friendly on Wednesday.
    He grabbed the match winner in the 11th minute for his third goal in five games this season.
     Last season, Ahmed Musa’s CSKA won the league and cup double.
