Media personality Daddy Freeze has opened up about the circumstances surrounding his first marriage, revealing that pregnancy was the primary reason he went through with it.

Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Daddy Freeze said that both he and his ex-wife were very young and not emotionally mature enough for marriage at the time.

“We had no business getting married because we were very young and immature. I was 24, and she was 22 when we married. She was pregnant. If she wasn’t pregnant, I’m not sure we would have gotten married,” he said.

He also reflected on the fallout of the union, including strained relations with his children, and accused his ex-wife of denying him access to them. He described the separation as emotionally draining and said it took a significant toll on him over the years.

Daddy Freeze blames religion, misplaced priorities for hindering Nigerians’ progress

Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has said that religion and misplaced priorities remain major factors preventing Nigerians from realising their full potential.

Speaking in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo on YouTube, Daddy Freeze criticised the excessive religiosity of many Nigerians, arguing that most churches fail to inspire genuine transformation among their members.

“Ten churches on a street, no love,” he said, describing the situation as a reflection of spiritual hypocrisy in society.

He also referenced chef Hilda Baci’s Guinness World Record-breaking cook-a-thon, praising her determination but questioning the crowd that gathered to watch her.

“I understand Hilda Baci cooking the rice. I understand her trying to break a record. I appreciate that. I respect that. I support that. But you left your house to go and watch somebody cook rice. That part, I don’t understand,” he said.

Freeze said that while it would have made sense if around 2,000 people attended, the turnout of over 20,000 Nigerians revealed misplaced priorities.

He urged citizens to channel their energy and enthusiasm into productive activities that would contribute to both personal growth and national development.

What I will do if my 16-year-old gets pregnant – Daddy Freeze

Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has disclosed that he would opt for termination if his 16-year-old daughter were to become pregnant.

The father of two made the revelation during a conversation on The Honest Bunch Podcast with his co-anchor, Zinnie Posh.

When Zinnie asked, “What would you do if your 16-year-old daughter got pregnant?” Freeze responded that his first instinct would be to identify the person responsible for the pregnancy, before taking further steps.

He said, “the pregnancy would be terminated. At such a young age, it would be unfair for my daughter to take on the responsibility of raising a child”.

“For me, a mistake at such a young age shouldn’t be compounded by raising a child while still a teenager”. He added

He argued that keeping the baby would simply mean another mistake, though he clarified that he would respect his daughter’s personal choice if she insisted.

Daddy Freeze slams Gym over Nkechi Blessing’s leaked photo

Media personality Daddy Freeze has come to the defence of actress Nkechi Blessing after a gym photo of her went viral and sparked online trolling.

Freeze criticised the gym for allowing such a breach of privacy, calling it an embarrassment.

He demanded the release of CCTV footage to expose whoever took the picture, stressing that any gym unable to safeguard its clients’ privacy is “useless.”

He added that Nkechi Blessing should not be mocked for her natural appearance while working out.

“Nigerian Gyms, this is an embarrassment. How can someone take a picture of your client and post it to mock them online? We need to see the CCTV so we can see the person who took this picture. If not, your gym is useless. You didn’t protect the privacy of your client. This is unfair, and they are trolling her online. This is wrong”, he said in a video.

The Nation reported that Nkechi had lashed out at a person for posting an unflattering photo of her from the gym.

The light-skinned, curvy actress wondered how people expected her to look in the gym after a long day.

She noted how one can’t disgrace a woman clothed with so much grace, as she hands over the person to God for judgment.

Despite handing the person over to God’s judgment, she warned that they’ll face consequences for their actions, declaring that every health-related issue she’s addressing at the gym will be transferred to them and their generation.

“Dear whoever took that picture, I have a question. How do you feel now? I am curious to know. Like I said, I have handed you over to God. In due time, in this same space, you will cry for help, and trust me, you won’t find any. Every single reason that took me to the gym, every single health-related issue in my body, will be transferred to you and your generation yet unborn, only if there is no God.

“I have so many questions, but then again, let me allow GOD do his thing unstoppable”, she wrote on Instagram.

  • I suffered rejection in church after divorce – Daddy Freeze

I suffered rejection in church after divorce – Daddy Freeze

Media personality Daddy Freeze has opened up on the experience that led him to stop attending Church.

In a conversation on Honest Bunch podcast, he shared a story about his experience with church and faith.

He recounted how after divorce, his pastor advised him to reconcile with ex-partner, which he refused.

He claimed he was asked to step back from participating in church events due to controversy surrounding him.

Daddy Freeze drew a parallel with the biblical story of the woman at the well, who had multiple marriages and was living with someone who wasn’t her husband.

He questioned why the church seemed to reject him while Christ didn’t reject the woman.

According to him, this led him to reevaluate his relationship with the church and eventually take a break.

During this time, Daddy Freeze said he dedicated himself to studying scripture, including original languages and found that the more he studied, the deeper his understanding became.

He said: “I used to be church boy. Then, when I had my divorce, my pastor sat me down, sat my ex down, and after two hours of talking, they said, you guys should get back together.

” I said, I’m not getting back to any together. I’m done. And then when we left, they called me on a Monday, said, you are introducing pastor on Thursday at some event. And I got ready, ordered costume. And then on Wednesday, they called me, said, well, baba said because of this, your controversy everywhere you should rest first. And I’m like, why? John chapter four, the woman at the well,  who had had five husbands and was living with the sixth husband or with the sixth man that was not even her husband.

“Christ did not stop her from spreading the message. Now, only one I don’t do now. Personally, I don’t do five, still deal with number six. They don’t reject them. Why are you rejecting me? So, I felt like it was a bit of rejection.  Then I sat down with my pastor after that and said, when I come to church, I should go and sit at the back because of the person who I killed or they catch me with drug, marriage, no work, marriage, no work, which one is sit at the back.

“So, I stopped going to church for a period around then I’ll move to another church and afforded myself more time to study scripture.

“And the more I studied scripture, the more I went deeper and the more I started studying in original languages. You compare the text to the text of the receptors you now start seeing. So, by the time you do the work, you can’t do that work for one year”.

I lost 100% of my business after criticising Nigerian pastors – Daddy Freeze

Controversial media personality Daddy Freeze said his business ventures collapsed entirely when he started attacking pastors.

In an interview on the Leadership podcast with Stephen Akintayo, Freeze recounted how his lucrative career as a master of ceremonies (MC) dried up.

He stated explained he once earned N1.5 million per event when the dollar was valued at N150, translating to roughly $10,000 every two months, or $60,000 annually from MC work alone.

However, after his controversial stance, bookings vanished, and he has not worked as an MC since 2019.

He recalled occasional gigs, but one notable instance saw organisers cancel after backlash from attendees upon seeing his name on promotional materials.

He said: “When I came after Nigerian pastors, I lost 100% of my business at the initial stage. It got so bad that after like two years, I used to MC because my rate were high, I used to charge N1.5m when dollar was N150. I used to get one in two in a months.

“A revenue of $10,000 every two months which is like $60, 000 a year from just one aspect, it went away. Till now I have not done MC since 2019. I had one or two gigs here and there but the one they agreed to pay, they paid me upfront then the flier came out and everybody said they were not going to attend.

” Because I hadn’t made money in a long time as they paid the money and spent it all. The guy called and I told him we have agreed, he said if it about the upfront, I can keep it”.

  • I’ve not met a Nigerian pastor who knows scripture – Daddy Freeze

I’ve not met a Nigerian pastor who knows scripture – Daddy Freeze

Controversial media personality Daddy Freeze has claimed that Nigerian pastors lack a true understanding of scripture.

In a recent video on Leadership podcast with Stephen Akintayo, Daddy Freeze argued that while many pastors can quote the Bible, they fail to grasp its context.

Daddy Freeze emphasised the importance of scholarly depth in understanding scripture, stating that pastors should study the original languages and consider the scholarly consensus.

He argued that studying the King James Version from start to finish is insufficient while also advocating for studying scripture in its original languages.

He said: “I believe pastors should apply scholarliness to doctrine. I took my time to study it, and when I say study scripture I mean study. I have not met a Nigerian pastor that knows scriptures. They might know the Bible but they don’t know scripture.

“There is what you call the scholarly consensus, which means they’ve sat down with the papyrus, sat with the original scriptures and what’s left of it and they’ve been able to agree with its data. Do you understand what I’m telling you?. You can’t tell me that you know the Bible because you have studied the King James from the beginning to the end. Until you study in the original languages, you don’t know scripture”.

In an interview with Nigeria Info FM, Lagos, Daddy Freeze praised the President’s policies, particularly in the power sector, saying they’ve provided a “beacon of hope” for citizens.

He said: “With President Bola Tinubu, I don’t think Nigeria is in trouble. I was scared initially but I’m seeing the work he is doing in the power sector.

“Nigeria is a big overloaded tipper with a bad engine. So, anybody or mechanic you bring will struggle. The leadership is that mechanic.

“Nigeria has so many problems. Sometimes, us expecting a particular government to be able to just come and fix it, is a bit ambitious.

“I was worried initially but with the way this regime has handled things up until now, I am leaning towards the fact that we finally have hope in this country”.
