    Why I’m still friends with embattled Hushpuppi, by Daddy Freeze

    Media personality Daddy Freeze has addressed his relationship with internet fraudster Hushpuppi, who was arrested in 2020 for involvement in a transnational cybercrime network.

    In a recent video by Tunde Ednut, Daddy Freeze claimed Hushpuppi never gave him money but offered him friendship during a difficult time.

    According to Daddy Freeze, their friendship began when he was invited to Dubai with other influencers.

    At the time, he was facing rejection from his church and the public due to his #FreeTheSheepple movement.

    He said Hushpuppi reached out to him via DM, inviting him to hang out and they spent time, taking pictures and sharing them on Snapchat.

    Daddy Freeze questioned why he should be expected to abandon their friendship, stating that Hushpuppi was a friend when nobody else wanted to associate with him.

    While acknowledging that he might have suspected Hushpuppi’s wealth was not legitimate, Daddy Freeze cited Davido’s lyrics, “dey for who dey for you,” which implies the importance of loyalty.

    Hushpuppi, whose real name is Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, was arrested in June 2020, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, by the Dubai Police.

    He was accused of being a key player in a transnational cybercrime network that laundered hundreds of millions of dollars from business email compromise frauds and other scams.

    Hushpuppi was later extradited to the United States where he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to engage in money laundering and was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison.

    Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, also known as Daddy Freeze, has doubted miracles recorded in Nigerian Pentecostal churches.

    During a recent episode of the Outside The Box podcast, Daddy Freeze stated that he does not believe in the miracles claimed by Nigerian pastors.

    Daddy Freeze argued that the miracles attributed to Jesus in the Bible were verifiable and involved well-known individuals, whereas Nigerian pastors have failed to perform similar miracles on public figures.

    He cited examples of high-profile individuals, such as Dora Akunyili and Mr. Ibu, who were afflicted with serious health issues not healed by Nigerian pastors despite their prayers.

    Daddy Freeze said: “I’m sorry but I don’t believe in any of the miracles in any Pentecostal church. I don’t have a problem with the pastors but I don’t believe their miracles.

    “My IQ is 156. I will have to be pretty dumb to be able to [believe in miracles in Nigerian churches]. Christ walked into the temple on a Sabbath and there was a man with a withered hand and Christ healed him. Christ raised Lazarus from death.

    “He raised the Pharisee’s daughter also from the death. He healed blind Bartimaeus. Everybody knew blind Bartimaeus. The woman with the issue of blood, there were some very prominent people who we all know we healed by Christ.

    “But in Nigeria today, there’s nobody… Dora Akunyili was dying of cancer, every Nigerian G.O prayed for her, they couldn’t heal her.

    “Mr Ibu was deteriorating to the point they have to amputate him and nobody could heal him. And then he died and nobody could raised him. Don’t tell me you did miracles. I want proofs.”

    Media personality, Daddy Freeze, has defended the music icon, 2baba, who recently announced his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia. 

    In a video live on Instagram, Daddy Freeze cautioned Nigerians not to “cancel” 2baba due to his flaws, pointing out that many biblical figures, such as Solomon, Moses, and Abraham, also had weaknesses.

    Daddy Freeze noted that 2baba has never hidden his philandering ways, and that Annie knew about his past life before marrying him.

    He questioned why people expected more from 2baba, given his consistent behaviour over the years.

    The former OAP emphasised that cheating is 2baba’s weakness and that one shouldn’t judge him or cancel him for it.

    He also acknowledged that both 2baba and Annie had faults in the marriage.

    Daddy Freeze’s comments come after a viral video surfaced showing 2baba with his alleged new girlfriend.

    Daddy Freeze urged people to manage their expectations and give 2baba credit for his contributions to African music, rather than focusing on his flaws.

    He said: “Neither one of them was an Angel or a demon. They both have their fault. I am close to both of them, so I wouldn’t take any side. But this video is out there, I might just react to it.

    “2face has been constant in this relationship. Before the wedding, he was like that. He had many women by his side. During the marriage, he had women by his side, so why did we expect that after the marriage, he would become a Priest? Maybe we were expecting too much from him. He has never shown us any sign that he isn’t polygamous. He had 5 kids before he got married. That is his weakness, that is his flaw. Let’s not judge him for it or cancel him for it. Let’s not forget his immense contribution to African music because of the flaws that Solomon, Moses, Abraham, and others in the Bible had.

    “All of a sudden, 2baba is the bad one. All those women saying, 2baba, we will show you, can we give this man some credit? He has been like this all his life. Before the marriage, he was like that; during the marriage, he was like that; how did we expect that after the marriage, he would become a Catholic Priest? Can you people learn to manage your expectations?”.

    Controversial media personality Daddy Freeze has vehemently denied allegations of adultery with Benedicta Elechi, the wife of Paul Odekina.

    Despite a court ruling ordering him to pay a fine of N5m, Daddy Freeze maintained his innocence and insists that the allegations are false.

    Speaking on his Instagram live, Daddy Freeze stated: “I’ve never slept with any man’s wife before. I’m not guilty of any adultery.”

    He also expressed his willingness to send the money to those in need, but asserted that he will never pay for the fine, saying, “I’ll not pay the 5 million naira adultery fine  but I can send them N5m to feed”

    He further emphasised his innocence, stating that the issue happened 12 years ago.

    “My watches alone cost over 100 million naira, but I am innocent, and I will not lose. This happened many years ago; this happened over 12 years ago,” he stated partly.

    Daddy Freeze’s denial comes after a High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State ordered him to pay the fine for committing adultery with Benedicta Elechi.

    The court’s ruling was upheld by the Appeal Court, dismissing Daddy Freeze’s appeal.

    However, Daddy Freeze remains adamant about his innocence and refuses to accept the court’s verdict.

    While agreeing with Kate’s emphasis on the importance of responsible fatherhood, Daddy Freeze offered a more nuanced perspective, highlighting that life’s complexities can sometimes hinder a man’s ability to fulfill his duties.

    He pointed out that financial constraints, health issues, and other factors can render a man unable to meet the expectations of responsible fatherhood, emphasising that it’s not always a matter of fault or irresponsibility.

    Daddy Freeze also noted that women can also play a role in a man’s inability to be a responsible father, draining him emotionally, psychologically, or financially.

    “Kate is right; as a father you need to be responsible. However, there are good men out there who can’t afford to be responsible for financial, health or other reasons, so it’s not their fault. 

    “Many women are also the reason why some men are irresponsible. If you destroy a man psychologically, emotionally and financially, you can’t expect magic can you?? The scriptures quoted also cut both ways,” he wrote.

    Media personality Daddy Freeze has sparked a debate with his recent comments on the effects of relocating abroad on marriages, highlighting the challenges faced by couples in such situations. In a discussion, Freeze remarked, “Abroad is not for every marriage.”

    He expressed concerns about how living abroad can change the dynamics of a marriage, particularly for women.

    Freeze pointed out that living abroad can make women feel empowered and independent, potentially leading them to believe they can live without a man.

    “Abroad gives women the illusion, it gives them the strength to believe that they can survive without a man, so the women don’t need you abroad,” he noted.

    He also emphasised that while relocating may benefit some marriages, it can also lead to the destruction of others.

    The media personality acknowledged that while many people appreciate the dynamics of an ‘abroad marriage,’ it is not suitable for everyone.

    He shared his doubts about his ability to survive raising kids or being married abroad, citing the high level of stress involved. “I’m not sure I can survive raising kids or being married abroad, the stress is a lot.”

    Media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has kicked against the improper burial arrangement of make-up artist, Abigail Fredrick, at the river bank in Anambra State.

    The Nation reported that the body of Abigail, one of those involved in the boat accident with actor, Junior Pope, at a river in Anambra state, has been recovered and laid to rest.

    Abigail Fredrick’s corpse and the cameraman were found on Thursday, April 11 after the tragic incident on Wednesday.

    Film director-cum-actor, Moses Eskor, in a post claimed the family of the deceased could not afford the payment for certain traditional sacrifices for her corpse to be taken to Akwa Ibom.

    He also said the money raised was insufficient for the traditional rites.

    Reacting, Daddy Freeze, in a post via his Instagram page, questioned why producers could not raise sufficient money to ensure that Abigail was properly laid to rest.

    He wrote: “So the producers cannot raise the money abi? Na wa o… Just be famous in this life. The FreeNation would have raised the money in a few hours if only we were informed. Imagine person commot for house go hustle them bury am there for where he go work…”

    He noted how men have mouths to also pray for themselves.

    According to him, having the aforementioned qualities in a woman, helps reduce prayer points.

    “When searching for a wife stop searching for a praying wife, you have a mouth, pray for yourself (Mat 6:6) Instead search for an Honest, Faithful, Considerate, Driver, and righteous wife. E dey reduce prayer points,” he wrote.
