Kashamu: Ogun tribunal delivers judgment today

Senator Buruji Kashamu will on Friday know fate as the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital delivers judgments on 12 pending petitions before it.

The election result of Senator Kashamu, representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun East Senatorial District at the red chamber, is being challenged by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dapo Abiodun in the last election.

Similarly, the APC is challenging the result of the House of Representatives election of Ijebu-East/Ijebu-North/Ogun Waterside, which returned Adesegun Adekoya of the PDP as against Biyi Ismail of the APC.

The three man Tribunal headed by Justice Ebiowei Tobi, is also looking at the results of ten seats in the Ogun State House of Assembly, for which the tribunal had reserved judgments since August 3, when all Counsels adopted their written addresses.

    Dapo Abiodun Celebrates daughter

A father’s calling is eternal and its importance transcends time. The bond between father and daughter lasts a life time and is more active than the bond between a man and his innate love for affluence. No doubt, Prince Adedapo Abiodun is a doting father and a wealthy one at that.

Princess Abiodun, first daughter of Heyden Boss, Dapo Abiodun, lived the fantasy of every girl her age when her father placed her on a pedestal of royalty as she turned 10. The CEO of Heyden Oil spared no expense in expressing his love for his little girl. He threw a lavish party for her at Ikoyi, Lagos and those who mattered in the country graced the occasion to celebrate with the birthday girl and the rest of the family.

The oil baron has been having a phase of good fortune. Just recently, he pampered himself with the acquisition of a brand new Bombardier Private jet, which is laced with latest flight facilities and considered to be one of the most expensive machines. Due to his business tentacles that have grown beyond the African frontier, the acquisition was necessitated by his ever increasing travel schedule.

At the beginning of the month, a spark of hope illuminated his political career in Ogun East Senatorial District. The oil tycoon defeated his rival, Otunba Seyi Oduntan, to clinch the All Progressives Congress senatorial ticket. Despite his busy schedule and his preparation for the oncoming election where he will be contending with Prince Buruji Kashamu of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Dapo placed all preparations on hold to honour his daughter, subtly informing the world that his first duty is to his family.

    CAN prays for Abiodun

The Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN) in Ogun East Senatorial District held yesterday a prayer session for the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate, Dapo Abiodun.

Leading the session at the Itoro Town Hall, Ijebu-Ode, the CAN chairman in Ijebu Ode, Rev. Sobayo, prayed for the success of the APC candidate.

He said the association was not partisan but stated that Abiodun can be vouched for in terms of giving the people good representation.

The CAN chairman said it was the responsibility of clerics to advise their congregation to ensure they perform their civic duties by getting their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The CAN coordinator for Remo, Pastor Malato Ikuesan, said the prayers were organised because some unscrupulous persons might want to perpetrate electoral fraud.

Abiodun described the ministers as stakeholders whose roles cannot be underrated in the society.

  • Dapo Abiodun eyes Senate

Dapo Abiodun is one man whose footprints on the Lagos and Ogun social scenes remain indelible. The chief executive of Heyden Oil and Gas Limited is contemplating testing his strength in the murky waters of Nigerian politics. Information at the disposal of Celeb Watch indicates that he might have perfected plans to throw his hat in the ring for the senatorial seat of Ogun East currently occupied by Senator Gbenga Kaka.

The businessman and socialite is a leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ikenne Local Government Area. The youthful looking oil magnate is believed to wield a lot of influence among the youths in the area but only time will tell if that could translate to an electoral asset in 2015.
