Davido‘s bodyguard, Segxy, has refuted allegations that the singer assaulted him at his wedding.

A video circulating online appeared to show Davido cautioning or slapping Segxy, but the bodyguard clarified that the video was “fake” and taken out of context.

Segxy explained that Davido was merely instructing him to let a boy approach and assured him that he had never been slapped or mistreated by his boss.

He emphasised that Davido is like family to him, and they share a strong understanding, dismissing the allegations and reaffirming his loyalty as part of the 30BG crew.

On his Instagram account, Segxy wrote: “As regards the fake video flying on the internet, y’all commenting sh*t you don’t know.

“My boss didn’t slap me and has never slapped any of his staff before. He was only cautioning me to allow the boy. The boy in question appeared from nowhere beside us, and I tried to stop him.

“Besides, my boss is my blood and family. I understand him so well without a word from his mouth. 30BG for life.”

Afrobeat superstar, Davido, has gifted his long-time friend and associate, Deekay, a brand-new Toyota Prado valued at N70 million.

This generous gesture comes on the heels of Davido’s lavish wedding ceremony with Chioma Rowland.

Deekay, visibly thrilled, shared photos of the luxurious SUV on Instagram, expressing his gratitude to David, whom he affectionately calls his “twin” and “idol.”

Captioning his post, Deekay wrote, “Ain’t nobody Realer … my twin and idolo just got me a 4wheeler … now thats #Motion @davido. Thanks for all u do and hv a happy married life”.

It was a big day for the Adelekes as Davido received the love and support he has always shown to his colleagues in the industry.

The Grammy award nominee and philanthropist held the whole of Nigeria’s music industry spellbound on Tuesday, June 25, in Lagos as they trooped in numbers to share in the father of four’s joy.

High-ranking celebrities led by Juju legend King Sunny Ade, Olamide, Kcee, Chike, Zlatan, Mayorkun, Fireboy, P’square, Jude Okoye, E-Money, Chief Priest Cubana, Iyabo Ojo, Nkechi Blessing, Patoranking, Peruzzi, Obi Cubana, among many others, were present at the nuptials. The array of celebrities did not only show support but also demonstrated that several good turns of kindness deserve another.

One of the highlights of the wedding party was rapper and singer Olamide’s surprise performance. Olamide, as gathered, had earlier informed Davido that he would be absent at the wedding, but appeared on the dance floor singing to the couple. The new groom couldn’t hold back his joy as he was heard saying, “Why you lie for me say you no come?”

Baddo performed various songs, including his smash hit love song ‘Melo Melo’. They also performed one of their collaborations, ‘Money,’ together.

The adopted hashtag #Chivido was trending on social media for many days as fans and well-wishers continued to share videos and pictures from the ceremony.

The event remains a talk of the town as it had government officials and over 100 entertainers in attendance.

Davido and Chioma have been in the public eye for years. Their relationship has been the subject of intense scrutiny, especially given Davido’s high-profile status in the entertainment industry.

However, one thing still missing is a congratulatory message from his counterparts who are also considered his biggest rivals, Wizkid and Burna Boy.

As many artistes trooped into the Lagos venue to celebrate with the Grammy nominee, many hoped that either Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, or Burna Boy would make a surprise attendance.

During her ongoing Pink Friday 2 World Tour, also known as the Gag City Tour, Nicki Minaj took a moment to acknowledge the union of the Afrobeats star, Davido, and his wife, Chioma.

Before performing their collaborative hit song, “Holy Ground”, Nicki Minaj expressed her wishes to the couple, saying: “Hold on, hold on. Did Davido get married? Congratulations to Davido and Chioma.”

The wedding, which was tagged #Chivido24, took place on Tuesday, June 25, in Lagos and attended by an impressive list of A-list guests, including governors, traditional rulers, and prominent figures in the entertainment industry.

Actress Merit Gold Eberechi has sparked a conversation on social media by pointing out the perceived hypocrisy of some Christians.

In her Instagram story, she noted that many Christians are celebrating Davido’s wedding to Chioma, despite the couple having three children together outside of wedlock.

Eberechi contrasted this with the treatment of individuals within Christian congregations who engage in premarital s3x and desire to get married.

She suggested that these individuals are often judged and criticised, while Davido’s wedding is being celebrated.
