    Fireboy’s surprise performance of “Everyday” got the party started, while Olamide and Davido’s reunion performance of “Money” was a highlight of the evening.

    Music superstar Davido made a bold request to his guests at his highly-anticipated wedding ceremony at Eko Hotel, Lagos. 

    The renowned artist asked his guests to shower him with Bitcoin, the popular cryptocurrency, as a wedding gift.

    This unconventional request sparked significant attention on social media, with many users discussing the innovative approach to wedding gifts.

    During the ceremony, the master of ceremony, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, initially announced that gifts could be presented in other currencies such as pounds, euros or dollars.

    However, Davido took the microphone and added a surprising twist, stating that he also accepts Bitcoin transfers.

    He jokingly emphasised that he prefers immediate gifts, saying, “I’m accepting Bitcoin as a gift if you can’t spray naira and I no want OBO I go give you tomorrow, I no want that one.”

    The wedding was a star-studded event that attracted dignitaries from various fields, including politics, entertainment, and traditional leadership.

    Afrobeats artist Davido has recently tied the knot with his longtime partner Chioma Rowland from Imo State.

    The highly publicised wedding ceremony took place on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in the couple’s relationship.

    In a candid moment during an Instagram live session with music executive Ubi Franklin, Davido revealed that marrying an Igbo woman is no easy feat.

    “E no easy. E no easy to marry Igbo woman. Igbo woman, e no easy,” he stated.

    While he didn’t elaborate on the specific challenges he faced, his comment sparked interest and curiosity among fans and followers.

    Renowned artist Davido has revealed his billionaire father Deji Adeleke told him about the vision he had for his music career. 

    During a chat with guests at the wedding, Davido said his father revealed that he had a vision that he would eventually transit from secular music to gospel music. 

    “In the morning, daddy would say, ‘Davido, I had a vision about you.’ I said, ‘What vision?’ He said, ‘I had a vision that you ended your music as a gospel singer’,” he said.

    The singer’s wedding ceremony was a joyous celebration of love, family and friendship with many notable guests in attendance, including Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke, Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Abia Governor Alex Otti, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel, and the Ooni of Ife, HRH Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

    Edo 2024: Davido endorses PDP’s Ighodalo at wedding ceremony

    Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has publicly endorsed Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for the September 21 Edo state gubernatorial election. 

    The endorsement occurred during Davido’s wedding ceremony, which was attended by the current Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.

    According to eyewitness accounts and a viral video, Davido declared, “Asue is the man to beat,” and pledged his full support for the PDP candidate.

    Davido’s endorsement holds significant weight, as the Grammy-nominated artist has deep roots in Edo State. 

    His mother, Veronica Imade Adeleke, was born in Benin City on November 23, 1963 and passed away in 2003 at the age of 39.

    This familial connection to the Benin Kingdom is seen as a testament to Davido’s love for Asue. 

    In his campaign manifesto, Ighodalo said: “My Covenant with Edo People,” Ighodalo has promised to heavily invest in the state’s creative industry, a sector in which Davido and many other notable artists from Edo State are key players. 

    Reacting to the endorsement, Erabor Emokpae, head of Asue media organization expressed optimism, stating that Edo state is poised for a significant boom in the creative industry under the PDP candidate’s leadership.

    Davido’s endorsement is expected to provide a boost to Ighodalo’s campaign and resonance with the state’s youthful electorate, who have historically been an important voting bloc in Edo state’s political landscape.

    Victoria Island, Lagos stood still yesterday for a show-stopping traditional wedding of Afrobeat superstar David Adedeji Adeleke aka Davido and Chioma Rowland.

    The highlight of the wedding which in the past week was the most discussed in Nigeria’s social circle and social media, was the presentation of an N85 million  Sports Utility Vehicle(SUV) 2024 GN8 MPV to the couple by a major automobile maker,  GAC Motors.

    The Habour Point Events Centre was a beehive with the caliber of dignitaries that honoured the star musician and wife with their presence.

    Davido shed tears of joy as his father-inlaw was praying for the couple.

    “Lord I know he is flawed, please help sustain this union,” Mr. Rowland prayed.

    The groom got into the venue riding in one of his luxurious automobiles, an open-roof Mercedes-Benz Maybach. He was dressed in a full traditional Igbo attire and waved to fans and admirers, who escorted the vehicle from Ahmadu Bello Way. 

    Dignitaries at the event include  former President Olusegun Obasanjo,  governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Ademola Adeleke(Osun), Dapo Abiodun(Ogun), and   Godwin Obaseki(Edo); ex-Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State; Senator Daisy Danjuma, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Saheed Elegushi  and  Mr. Seyi Tinubu.

    Some of the socialites, celebrities and artistes were   Juju music exponent, King Sunny Ade,  Obi Cubana,  Cubana Chief Priest, High Chief Ifeanyi Odii, B-Red, Iyabo Ojo, Nkechi Blessing, Paul Okoye of P-Square and  Pretty Mike.  

    Davido first introduced Chioma, popularly known as ChefChi in Lagos,  to the public as his lover in 2018 when he held a party for her on her 23rd birthday.

    He presented her a  N45m  Porsche car .

    The ‘FIA’ singer had before the birthday shindig released a song entitled ‘Assurance’ to show his deep affection for her.

    In 2019, Davido and Chioma welcomed  a son, Adedeji Ifeanyi Adeleke Jr. The young boy died in a pool accident on November 1, 2022.

    Davido took a break from music and social engagements for one year after the incident. He returned to the music scene to release his fourth studio album in 2023.

    In October 2023, exactly eight months after, Davido and Chioma  welcomed a set of twins.

    Davido has two children -Imade Aurora and Hailey Adeleke—from two other women.

    Music superstar Davido has tied the knot with his longtime partner, Chioma in a lavish wedding ceremony in Lagos.

    The highly anticipated event is currently taking place at Eko Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria.

    As part of the traditional Igbo wedding rites, Davido prostrated before Chioma’s parents, seeking their daughter’s hand in marriage and also their blessing, promising to protect and cherish their daughter.

    Chioma Rowland, Davido’s fiancée, has recounted how the singer surprised her with a bridal shower party.

    She revealed that Davido tricked her into attending the event by telling her they were going on a dinner date.

    On arrival at the venue, Chioma said she was taken aback by the balloons and decorations, realising it was a surprise party.

    She expressed her excitement and joy, screaming with delight.

    “Let me tell you a story. I know this is an event centre and David said we were going to eat.
