Get some sleep, fan tells Davido

The Ebola scare might be gone, but Nigerian hip hop superstar, David Adeleke, aka Davido, is not letting it slide. The singer, on Thursday morning, hit the social network with a photograph of himself holding a poster on which is boldly written, #AfricaAgainstEbola.

However, a fan of the artiste who simply goes by the name, Charlzani is more bothered about the messenger than the message. “@davidoofficial U gotta try as much as possible to get sufficient sleep bro.. Ur eyes tell a lot #concerned,” he replied.

Last year, Davido sparked criticism when he visited Abidjan, Ivory Coast for a show and shared photos of himself flanked by soldiers via social media. He captured the photogttaph, “Protected!! 0 EBOLA!!”

Fans of the star lashed out at him for the caption, with a good number of them saying it was insensitive.

Doxy takes shots at Olamide in new single

HE might be new to the Nigerian music industry, but budding rapper and freestylist, Dolapo Oyatomi Junior, aka Doxy says that he is ready to run with the big guns. He made this known in his new track titled Baby, in which he takes shots at indigenous rappers, Olamide and Phyno.

Explaining the rationale behind the move, the young artiste said that Olamide and Phyno, two artistes he respects so much in the rap game “are just too good and I want to rap just like them, but the truth is that Doxy can’t be Olamide or Phyno, just like Olamide can’t be Phyno and Phyno can’t be Olamide,” he said.

The song, Baby, according to the artiste, is all about everyone minding their business because people are gifted differently. He noted that this is one of the laws in the music industry, just like his previous track, My Business.

“Only a deep rap artiste can understand the whole words. The chorus, “I love you, hun Baby, I never wanna let you go,” means loving the gift God has given me and I will never let it go due to the love I have for it. God has given me a gift just as He has given Olamide, Phyno and other great artistes. I have to make good use of it.I know I’m different. I would love to work with both artistes. I also look forward to working with the likes of MI, Vector, Ice-Prince, Don Jazzy, D Banj, Banky W, Praiz, Davido, Wizkid, Samklef, Reminisce and other great artistes.

  • Wizkid, Davido duel on Twitter

THOUGH an eventful year, 2014 sailed on without any serious incidence among artistes as it were. But, as time went on, the hitherto unspoken rivalry between hip hop acts, Ayo Balogun, aka Wizkid and David Adeleke, aka Davido snowballed into an all-out Twitter war.

Prior to performing at a sold out show featuring Wale and Akon in the US, Wizkid took to his Twitter handle to post thus; “Just landed in NYC! Let’s turn up! We do proper shows and proper venues.”

Davido, who had performed at another show that was perceived as a flop, took the post as a direct assault and then launched an attack at the Starboy. Without specifying who he was referring to, Davido traded shots in what many regard as a response to Wizkid.

Having concluded his show, Wizkid again posted; “Thank u so much NewYork!! Amazing show last night!! Big up @wale nd @akon for showing me love!! Proper show! Proper venue! Boys talk!! Men work.” Davido again responded; “Pull half my crowd before talking shit! Loser!”

Things came to a head when other artistes including Saeon and Iyanya saw the need to weigh into the row and call their colleagues to order.
