  • Walking in wisdom for financial dominion!

WELCOME to another exciting week. I hope you were blessed by last week teaching. Today, we shall focus on: Walking in Wisdom for Financial Dominion!

From scriptures, we understand that wisdom is the custodian of wealth. As it is written: Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures (Proverbs 8:18-21). That is why, ‘the wiser the wealthier’ is a common trend in scriptures as exemplified in the following examples:

    • Abraham: He was a man who walked with God and the Bible says he that walks with the wise shall be wise (Genesis 17:1; Proverbs 13:20). He was a wise and wealthy man and the Bible records that he was very rich in cattle, silver and gold and the Lord blessed him in all things (Genesis 13:2, 24:1).
    • David: He was said to be as wise as an angel. As a result of his level of wisdom, David commanded financial dominion and he lived in the realm of over and above (2 Samuel 14:20; 1 Chronicles 29:3-6).
    • Solomon: He was the wisest in Bible history and also the wealthiest (1 Kings 3:12-13). Solomon loved the Lord and He lavished him with the Spirit of wisdom as he requested, thereby making him wiser and wealthier than all men in his days (1 Kings 4:22-28). Remember, the all wise God is the custodian of the wealth of the whole universe. As it is written: The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts (Haggai 2:8; see also Jude 1:25; Psalm 24:1).

From all the above, it is evident that it takes wisdom to walk in the realm of wealth. Wisdom here connotes putting God’s Word to work in our lives (Matthew 7:24-25). This implies that wisdom is simply applied knowledge. That is, to be knowledge deficient is to be wisdom deficient. Therefore, craving for knowledge is the highway to wisdom (Proverbs 4:7). For instance, we understand that giving is God’s wisdom that launches us into realms of financial fortune. It is written: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again (Luke 6:38). Many people are frustrated because they don’t understand the wisdom of God behind giving and receiving. It is important to know that there is a time lag between our giving and receiving, just like in sowing and reaping (Mark 4:26-28; John 12:24). This time lag calls for patience for anyone who desires to walk in financial dominion. But, it is not enough to commit to giving; it must be done the Bible way because the labour of the foolish wearies every one of them, because he lacks the ‘KNOW-HOW’ (Ecclesiastes 10:15). This is because wisdom is the know-how in the pursuit of any given goal. It is therefore not enough to be giving; we must know how to give acceptably so that our giving will not be wasted.

What is the Biblical Wisdom for Acceptable Giving?

    • We Must Give in Faith: For it is written: By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain…But without faith it is impossible to please him… (Hebrew 11:4-6). Therefore, it takes faith for our seed to be acceptable.
    • We Must Give Cheerfully: As it is written: But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
    • We Must Give Willingly: The Bible says: For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not (2 Corinthians 8:12). We must not give under pressure, or we miss our rewards.
    • We Must Give in Love: Our giving to God and the poor must be love motivated. It is written: And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing (1 Corinthians 13:3).
    • We Must Give Honourably: It is not every seed that God receives, He receives only honourable seeds. We must understand that what is considered honourable for one is considered dishonourable for another. Therefore, we must give what is honourable at our level per time (Malachi 1:6-8; Proverbs 3:9-10; 1 Samuel 2:30).
    • We Must Give Sacrificially: Anytime we offer our seed, we must let it bear a cost on us. For instance, David purposed not to offer burnt offerings to God, which cost him nothing. After he offered his ‘costly’ seed, the Lord was entreated for the land and the plague was stayed from Israel (2 Samuel 24:24-25).
    • We Must Give Tirelessly: This is because we can only reap our harvest in due season if we faint not (Galatians 6:9).

In conclusion, it is important for us to know how God blesses, because He does not only call us to give, we are to expect His blessings in return. Remember, we are ordained to walk in financial dominion and Jesus died, among other things, to connect us with the blessings of Abraham, which includes financial fortune (Genesis 13:2; Isaiah 51:1-3). However, this is made possible when you are a bonafide child of God. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I know I am born again! For further reading, please get my books: Walking in Wisdom, The Wisdom that Works and Winning Wisdom. • Oyedepo: Food security a necessity, not ideology

Landmark University Chancellor Dr. David Oyedepo has again raised the fear of food insecurity in Africa, saying it is the ‘greatest threat to the continent’s survival. The cleric fears that the menace, if not checked, could wipe off a whole generation.

Dr Oyedepo challenged Africans to learn to engage in intensive agricultural endeavours if they must survive in the face of impending global food crisis. The cleric insists that Africa, especially Nigeria, has no excuse to suffer  food insufficiency with the available abundant arable land and resources.

Dr Oyedepo spoke during the university’s sixth convocation at Omu-Aran, Kwara State. The theme was:Release of pathfinders, Royal Set of 2019.

According to him, food security is a major global concern as over a billion people are suffering from starvation, hunger and malnutrition.

“There is no substitute for food as far as human substance is concerned; there is no software for addressing food challenges,” he began.

“No matter the state of the economy of any nation, the last thing to remove from the budget is food, food security is not an ideology but a necessity.

“There is nothing that challenges human dignity like lack of food, with the massive arable land to us as a nation, hunger is obviously an insult in our intelligence.”

The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church, noted that the need for the institution to address these anomalies informed the Landmark’s introduction of agripreneurship,an entrepreneurial-driven programme, as well as toward total graduate (TTG) concept, meant to infuse values in graduates.

He said Landmark is very much committed to a new approach to leading an agrarian revolution through the consciousness of farming since mankind acknowledges the indispensability of food.

Oyedepo continued: “The number one purpose for setting up Landmark University is to help young people see the treasure hidden in the mother earth through agripreneurship and other incentives.

“Our university life-coach programme, compulsory for all final year undergraduate students are designed to provide pathways to a life of meaning, fulfilment and out-of-this-world order of accomplishments.”

He expressed the urgency to repackage the continent’s education system to align with best global standard that seeks solutions to their peculiar challenges, arguing that a good and formidable formal education system must be a departure from knowledge to empowerment.

“It (education) must be a departure from figure to future-building, a departure from points to facts, a departure from mathematics to life-matics and a departure from legalism to realism.’’

Keynote speaker and former Secretary-General of African Development Bank (AfDB) Ms Cecilia Akintomide, urged the graduands to be “very focused and research oriented’’.

In her lecture titled: You only get one shot, she said: “You have to stay focused, research-oriented and informed. You have to be bold, audacious and you must be ready to take well-calculated risks.

“Have covenant with God in getting a different relationship, He will guide and propel the rest of your life,” she counselled. Vice-Chancellor Prof Adeniyi Olayanju attributed the institution’s achievements to spiritual support and continuous investment in ultra-modern facilitiesa.

“We are unrelenting in advancing the frontiers of research activities that would, among others, boost agricultural value chain.

“This, we hope, will engender the much needed food sufficiency in our continent,” he said.

The Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba AbdulraheemAdeoti, praised the Chancellor and the management for putting the name of the community and Igbomina region in global limelight.

Fifty-one First Class graduates led 381 others. The 2018, 2019 set comprised 182 female and 250 males. Interestingly, four of the 26 First Class female graduands, were overall best from the four colleges of the university.

  • Unveiling Success Keys!

Welcome to another exciting week. I hope you were blessed by the teaching of last week. Today, we shall focus on: Unveiling Success Keys!

It is important to recognise that we are the offspring of God and the epitome of success. This is because at redemption, we were ordained men and women of outstanding and unusual feats.  Thus, as no failure son is a pride to the father, we can never be a source of pride to God in our failure state. God rejoices over only His outstanding children like a natural father will do. He is the Most High; so, we cannot be the lowest and say we are His children? However, it is important to understand that the Kingdom of God operates on keys; without which we may not attain the height God has destined for us. Thus, we must discover these keys and use them.

    What then, are Success Keys?

    • Purpose: Purpose is one of the four dimensional powers for outstanding success. Everyone born into this world is separated for something. Everyone is separated to a well defined purpose. As it is written: Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations (Jeremiah 1:5). God is a God of purpose. Purpose is a secret for success. Purpose is power! It is the key to realisation. Life without purpose equals pressures without reason. When life lacks purpose, it loses colour. Martin Luther King (Jnr.) is quoted as saying, ‘If a man has no purpose for living, he’s not fit to live.’ Nothing distinguishes as purpose. Thus, there are ways by which we can locate where we belong here on earth.
    • Locate the gift of God for our lives (Romans 11:29; Proverbs 18:16).
    • Have one goal (1 John 3:8; Matthew 6:22; Philippians 3:14).
    • Pursuit: Purpose is of no value without pursuit. Pursuit is what gives purpose value. It is the relevant force that transforms our purpose into reality. In science, they say every object assumes a state of rest or uniform motion until a force is applied to it. Nothing works by itself; every working thing is made to work by some man. Likewise, when we don’t pursue our purpose, we cannot possess it. The Bible says: I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Habakkuk 2:1-3). This implies that the colour of every purpose is determined by the tenacity of the pursuit involved. Furthermore, only runners obtain the prize (1 Corinthians 9:24).

v            Persistence: The act of tireless pursuit is what I call persistence. It is keeping at the pursuit of our purpose with patience. Isaiah 66:7 says: Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child (Isaiah 66:7). But the very next verse asks: Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children (Isaiah 66:8). Hit and run people never make the race; it is the hit and stick that makes it. There is one major way to be persistent.

    • Run with patience (Hebrews 12:1-3, 10:35; Habakkuk 2:3).
    • Possession: Many are struggling and sweating in their pursuit but it is God’s hand on a thing that makes stars in the Kingdom. I have seen many workaholics, who are failures because of this missing key. What does it really take to take delivery of outstanding success? Having identified our purpose, pursued it persistently, how then can we take delivery of success? There are two major ways we can possess our possession.
    • Carry His presence (Psalm 127:1-2; 1 Corinthians 3:6).
    • We need joy (James 5:13; Habakkuk 3:17-19).

In conclusion, outstanding success is the heritage of thankful, praiseful and joyful saints because they are the ones who can provoke the hand of God to produce results. Just like a man cannot survive in the water, the same way it is choking for God to stay where there is no joy, praise and thanksgiving. Also, as long as our lifestyle is choking to God, we cannot carry His presence. Therefore, you must be born again before you can utilize the success keys. Now I know I am born again!” For further reading, please get my books: Ruling your World, Exploring the Secrets of Success, Success Strategies and Success Systems. • Oyedepo to academia: Stop being bookish and start thinking future

Oyedepo to academia: Stop being bookish and start thinking future

Chancellor of Covenant University (CU) Ota Ogun State, Dr. David Oyedepo, has handed down a challenge to leaders in the academia- ‘Stop being merely bookish and start grooming thinkers’.

Oyedepo said his experiences with those in the academia shows that many of them are simply so proud of having become authority in their chosen fields.

However, the fiery cleric noted that that is not enough as they need to go a step further by indoctrinating in young scholars the art of thinking out ideas which would address some of the challenges plaguing the black continent.

Oyedepo, who is the presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, delivered the keynote address at the 54th meeting of the Committee of Deans of Post Graduate Schools (CDPGS) in Nigerian Universities at CU premises. The four-day event which began on Monday, would end Wednesday.

Oyedepo said global solution providers such as Albert Einsten, Isaac Newton, and The Wright Brothers among others,  once had a brainwave in their time which led to great revolutions in their respective fields.

He warned Nigerians that repeated complaints would not work; but that they should battle their challenges headlong.

He said: “Everywhere I go in Nigeria today, everybody continues to complain that things are not working; but who will start how things will work and when? That person is you and that time is now; and post graduate education should serve as a platform for inciting our students into thinking solutions.  Today, it is thinkers that rule the world and we should be development-oriented in things we do”

To make that difference, Oyedepo challenged the deans to start thinking out of the box, saying that is what would propel them to imbibe same culture into their students.

“Leadership is not being in the driver seat, but adding values. As a dean, you must start thinking what difference you are going to make in that position; what contributions in terms of innovations and feat. You have no business being in that position if you cannot make that
difference that will be a reference point to your successors years after you have left.”

Further, Oyedepo suggested the ‘read thinking’; concept which according to him, combines research alongside critical thinking of solutions. Man’s biological configuration
remains the same regardless of colour or height, Oyedepo argued, adding that the greatest challenge of a Black Man is not intellectual bankruptcy, but laziness and inability to task his thinking faculty towards realising assets that will benefit his immediate environment.

He said Africa has a lot to tap from Covenant University which was birthed through indigenous thinking and currently ranks as the second best university in Nigeria just within 15 years of
    existence.

Earlier, Chairman of the association Prof Bamidele Sanni, said the theme of the event: Repositioning postgraduate education for sustainable national development: the leadership dimension’ threw a challenge in their path as academic leaders who must groom better successors.

“As deans of post graduate school, our colleagues often refer to us as ‘deans of deans’.  We are  leaders in our capacity who are also training tomorrow’s leaders.  We therefore have a responsibility to lead others aright before handing over so they can sustain standard.

“Those who groomed and made us who we are today are proud of us; so we also want to be proud of others by saying ‘that man or lady graduated from this university and I supervised his
    research.”

  • CU appoints new VC

    CU appoints new VC

The Board of Regents, Covenant University’s apex governing body has approved the appointment of Professor Aderemi Aaron-Anthony Atayero, as the fourth substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Secretary of the Board of Regents, Pastor Chioma Okwuanyi, on behalf of the Chairman of the Board and Chancellor of Covenant University, Dr. David Oyedepo, made the announcement on Friday July 15, 2016 at a special meeting of Principal Officers, Deans, Directors and Heads of Departments.

Professor Atayero replaces Professor Charles Ayo, whose tenure elapsed last month.

Speaking on how the Board of Regents arrived on its choice of Professor Atayero, Pastor Okwuanyi said the Board, at a recent meeting to consider a number of eminent professors from Covenant University, decided to limit the choice to the products of the university in order to allow for continuity; somebody who has been in the system who knows where Professor Ayo stopped, and start building from that foundation.

The announcement was greeted with a thunderous applause from the audience including Professor Ayo, who described the day as symbolic in the annals of history of the university. It would have been disheartening, he said, if the university had to look elsewhere to pick his successor.

He acknowledged the contributions of all present, while expressing satisfaction that he has bequeathed a university where faculty, staff and students can walk with their heads held high across the continent of Africa.

“I congratulate the incoming Vice-Chancellor. Actually, we started the journey together… I therefore have no doubt whatsoever that Professor Atayero will be able to move the university forward at a faster rate having been part and parcel of the Vision,” said Professor Ayo.

He subsequently presented his handover note titled, ‘On the Wings of a Prophetic Verdict: Vision 10:2022’ to Professor Atayero, and prayed that God will give the new Vice-Chancellor the wisdom and the grace to take the university to a greater height.

Professor Atayero, in his acceptance speech, thanked the Board of Regents for the confidence reposed in him to carry the mantle of leadership of the institution from where Professor Ayo stopped.

While acknowledging that the task before him is not an easy one, the Vice-Chancellor is optimistic that victory would be achieved.

“When I was made the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), when I was writing my acceptance letter then, one of the things I noted was I’m fully persuaded that this can only be done exclusively by the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is pleasing that I’m currently on the mountain, and one of the scriptures I read on the mountain is Romans 9:28: ‘For He will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth’.

“I am convinced that victory would be achieved even before the last lap as set by our indefatigable Chancellor. Another good reason is that we are standing on a very sound foundation. It is only a privilege for us and the team coming in to be able to carry this mantle forward and we make bold to say that by His grace we shall not disappoint.”

Curtains were drawn on the unveiling ceremony with Pastor Okwuanyi asking all present to pray that God gives Professor Atayero the grace to accomplish the task before him.

Professor Atayero and Professor Ayo later met in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office at the Senate Building, where members of staff led by the Director, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Dr. Akan Williams, were introduced to the new helmsman.

Atayero, a professor of Communication Engineering at Covenant University, who was the pioneer Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of the institution, had also served as Coordinator School of Engineering, and twice as Head of Department of Electrical and Information Engineering of the university. He joined the faculty of Covenant University as a pioneer faculty in 2002.

Professor Atayero has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Radio Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Satellite Communication Systems in 1992 and 1994 respectively from the Moscow Institute of Technology, Moscow, Russian Federation. He earned his Ph.D from the Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation (MSTUCA) in 2000.

Atayero is a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and other professional bodies.

He has a number of scientific papers in reputable International peer-reviewed journals and proceedings to his credit. He is on the editorial board of the Covenant Journal of Science and Technology and of several other International Journals.

The new Vice-Chancellor is a recipient of various awards and scholarships including the ‘2009 Ford Foundation Teaching Innovation Award’. His current research interests are in various aspects of Communication Engineering, including (but not limited to): Wireless Sensor Networks, Wireless (Mobile) Communications, Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Cities.

He was until his appointment Head, Covenant University Internet of Things-Enabled Smart and Connected Communities (SmartCU) Cluster.

Professor Atayero is happily married and the marriage is blessed with three children.

  • Exploring The Secrets Of Success!

Welcome to December, your month of total recovery and the season of blessings. God will visit you in a special way this month and you shall not miss any of His blessings, in Jesus’ Name!

This week, I shall be teaching on Exploring The Secrets Of Success!Every child of God is redeemed to be a success. We are redeemed to succeed. Success is our birthright in Christ. We are called to glory, not to fail.

Recognize that the Bible is the most reliable Book on all-round success. God’s Word says:This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8). Engaging Biblical principles guarantees outstanding success in every area of life (Deuteronomy 28:1-12).

Also, walking in the light of scriptures is the gateway to a world of exploits (Psalm 45:3-5; Daniel 11:32).

There are certain forces that are responsible for the success of the saints. These forces empower believers to command breakthroughs and excel in their various endeavours.

This week, I will be teaching on one of the forces of success – The Power Of Love. We shall be looking at the power of love in the quest for success. Note that love is a failure-proof virtue (1 Corinthians 13:8).

Every genuine lover of Christ ends up a living wonder among men.Talking about the quality goodies God has for those that love Him, the Bible says:But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Note that God is love (1 John 4:16). So, dwelling in love is dwelling in God. Favour naturally pursues lovers of God. When you are in love with God, you will be in love with His house. No wonder, Psalm 102:13-15 says:Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust there of. So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. It becomes clear that every lover of God is entitled to divine favour.

When you are in love with God, you walk with the only wise God! The man called Daniel in the Bible, loved God so much that God made him to walk in His wisdom, which made him to shine (Daniel 12:3). So, walking in God’s wisdom makes us to shine.

Isaiah 45:1 says: Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut. Until you are truly in love with God, your success level remains limited.

You cannot have a genuine heart for God and not make an outstanding mark on the earth. If you love God, you won’t hesitate to serve Him. Serving God does not benefit God; serving Him benefits you (Exodus 23:25-26). So, the hotter your love for God, the greater you fly (1 Corinthians 2:9). For instance, Solomon loved God and God in return blessed him in greater measure (1 Kings 4:29-34).

God’s love is not theoretical; it is practical (Psalm 119:103-105). You have to show your love to God in practical terms. You can’t love God and end up a failure. It is not possible!

Note that your exploits are products of what are in your heart. The love of God is a function of our love for others. Our level of love, is what determines the level of success we attain or command in life.

Friend, the grace to be empowered by love for success, is the preserve of those who are born again. The question is: Are you born again? You become born again by confessing your sins, forsaking them and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

You can be born again right now, if you haven’t been, by saying this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan, to serve the Living God. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You, for saving me! Now, I know I am born again!” I will continue this teaching next week.

Every exploit in life is a product of knowledge. For further reading, please get my books: Success Button, Success Systems andExploring The Secrets Of Success.

  • The Covenant Of Rewards!

    The Covenant Of Rewards!

Welcome to November, your month of total recovery and the season of blessings. God will visit you in a special way this month and you shall not miss any of His blessings, in Jesus’ Name!

This week, I shall be teaching on The Covenant Of Rewards. Many are excellent in their services and fields of endeavour, yet every opportunity for lifting passes them by. Why is this so? It is either they are not playing the game according to the rules or they lack what it takes to make them change levels through rewards of stewardship.

Hear this: God is neither a task master nor the user of people. He is a Rewarder! He has not called us to serve Him in vain. When we serve Him accordingly, His reward and blessings are inevitable in our lives and families.

The Bible says: And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil (Exodus 23:25-26). God does not speak empty words! He means what He says and says what He means! Remember that we serve a covenant-keeping God (Jeremiah 33:22, 25).

But then, what is a covenant?

A covenant, as it were, is like a contract. So, it involves two or more people. In this case, it involves just you and God. God is the Covenantor and you are the covenantee – you are the beneficiary of the deal. All you need then is a good understanding of what the covenant entails, and you’ll be a beneficiary of God’s rewards for your service to Him. Psalm 89:34 says: My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. This scripture will help to establish your confidence in the covenant.

God is a covenant keeper. His side of every covenant is forever secured; it is our side that is variable. But when we lay hold on the terms that relate to us, and apply ourselves to them, God is committed. When we are on key with the terms of the covenant, we have committed God to act.

So, we are the initiator of God’s intervention in our lives. We initiate the rewards by our stewardship. Recognize that reward is not a ‘dash;’ it is a response to our input. God is a Rewarder of those who diligently serve Him. It is important to know the vital terms of the covenant.

What is the fundamental requirement of the covenant of rewards:

•Faithfulness: A fundamental requirement of the covenant of rewards is faithfulness. First Corinthians 4:1-2 says: Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. So, it is required that you and I be found faithful, sincere and truthful. Who is a faithful servant? Answer to this question can be seen in the Book of Matthew 24:45-46.

If you are faithful as a servant (of God) you will be rewarded. Your service must not be seen as ‘eye-service.‘ Ephesians 6:6-8 says: Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;  With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

Note that faithfulness is of the heart, while ‘facefulness’ is of the outside! That is why the Bible cautions that you should “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life,” (Proverbs 4:23). So, faithfulness is a fundamental requirement for rewards in the covenant of service for rewards.

Friend, the power to access rewards of service from God is the preserve of those who are redeemed. Are you born again? You become born again by confessing your sins, forsaking them and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

You can be born again right now, if you haven’t been, by saying this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan, to serve the Living God. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You, for saving me! Now, I know I am born again!” I will continue this teaching next week.

  • Engaging the Miracle Power of Praise for Supernatural Breakthroughs!

Engaging the Miracle Power of Praise for Supernatural Breakthroughs!

Welcome to the last teaching for the month. There is no better way to rap up the month than on the note of praise and thanksgiving.

Praise is a spiritual weapon that has the capacity to crush our toughest and roughest battles in life. We must also understand that praise is one of the most effective, but neglected weapons in the Kingdom. It is an unbeatable weapon in the battles of life. This is because until we can beat God, we cannot beat praise.    That is why I define praise as the ultimate spiritual weapon in warfare.

More so, God inhabits the praises of His people. This means that God is in praise and thus, whatever battle cannot resist God, cannot resist praise (Psalm 22:3).

For instance, Paul and Silas, in the midnight of their ordeal, sang praises to God and He stepped in. The foundation of the prison was shaken, all the doors were opened and everyman’s chain was loosed. In response to praise, God stepped in and levelled their battles (Acts 16:25-30). You will likewise, become a surprise to your enemies through the weapon of praise!

Life is however, essentially a seedtime and harvest adventure and no one ever gets out of life more than he puts into it. As it is written: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease (Genesis 8:22). (See also Ephesians 6:8, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7).

The scripture records that David danced with all his might and secured vengeance on his mockers. No wonder, Bible records show that he never lost a battle. David knew how to bring God to bear in any situation and circumstance. We also recall the story of that one leper that glorified God with a loud voice and was made whole (2 Samuel 6:1-10, Luke 17:18-19).

This is why it is important to identify that praise is in categories. It is the level we engage in that determines the level of results we command.

What then, are the Categories of Praise?

    • Normal Praise: As it is written, Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp (Psalm 149:3).

    • High Praises: It is written: Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand (Psalm 149:6). While praises will attract wonders, giving God high praises will attract high level of wonders. Also, while praise produces a usual order of results, high praise produces high level order of results (Psalm 149:3-9).

    • Highest Praise: This is the Hosanna order of praise. When we give God hosanna praise, we are entitled to a high level order of results. For instance, when the people went wild singing His hosanna as He entered into the City of Jerusalem, Jesus went wild in the temple and healed all that were sick (Matthew 21:9-16).

What are the Benefits in Praise?

    • Praise is a spiritual medium through which we transfer our battles to God: (Jeremiah 32:17,27/ Psalm 125:1-3).

    • Praise is a spiritual medium through which our inheritance in Christ is forcefully released: (Psalm 47:1, 4Matthew 11:12).

    • It is for the restoration of our physical, social and spiritual dignity: When we praise God, He beautifies us with all that redemption offers (Psalm 149:4).

Some of the toughest battles in scriptures were won by praise, which represent the testimonies of the triumphs of praise. They include:

    • The dividing of the Red Sea: (Exodus 14:13-15, 15:11, 20-21/ 2 Chronicles 20:17/ Psalm 114:1-9).

    • The walls of Jericho came down at the shout of praise (Joshua 6:1-5, 15-16, 20/ Psalm 47:1-2, 5-7).

    • God stepped in by praise and took over the battle of Judah (2 Chronicles 20:12-15, 17-24).

    • The prison gates gave way to Paul and Silas through praise:(Acts 16:25-30).

    • Jesus fed 5,000 in the desert by giving thanks (John 6:6-11/ Psalm 67:5-7).

    • Lazarus came back to life as Jesus gave thanks (John 11:40-44).

Praise warfare is vital to supernatural breakthroughs in the battles of life. As long as we know what to do, we cannot remain victims. Therefore, as we engage in high praises, every battle of our lives that has proved to be tougher than us, God will take over and turn it to a testimony! Remain ever Blessed!

Friend, the blessedness of praise can be maximized when you are born again.Say this prayer of faith: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You, for saving me! Now, I know I am born again!” Amen!!

  • Breaking invisible barriers by God’s word! (2)

Breaking invisible barriers by God’s word! (2)

Welcome to the last segment of this month’s teaching.  Let us attempt a brief recap of the month’s teachings. In the first week, I taught on how you can experience the wonders on the Word of God. I told you that God’s Word is pregnant with wonders and this is why all miracles, signs and wonders are direct confirmations of the Word (Mark 16:20).

I showed you what it takes to access the wonders in the Word of God, namely:

    •One must be born again(Mark 4:11/ John 6: 63).

•One must be filled with the Holy Ghost (John 16:12-13; John 14:26).

    • One must be Spiritual (1Corinthians 1:7; 1Corinthians 3:1-3).

    •One must walk in the Spirit (Rev. 1:10; Romans 8:6; 1Cor. 15:23).

    •One must desire more Revelation (Isaiah 44:3; 1Corinthians 8:2).

•One must engage in the study of the Word (2Tim. 2:15; Jer. 15:16).

In the second week, we discussed how to engage in the study of the Word. I said we must get addicted to the study of the Word and make it our lifestyle, by feeding on the Word daily in order to stay alive and well. The Bible admonishes that we meditate on the Word day and night; then, we will make our way prosperous and have good success (2Timothy 2:15; Jeremiah 15:16; Joshua 1:8).

I showed you some Covenant Requirements for our Settlement such as being born again (Galatians 5:22, Isaiah 9:6, Philippians 4:7), going after the Word (2 Peter 1:2, Psalm 119:165), being planted in the House of the Lord (Psalm 92:13-15) and making a choice to serve God. Serving God is not a calling or a gift; it is a choice(Joshua 24:15).

In the third week, I discussed the turnaround effect of God’s Word on our destiny.I showed you what our destiny is worth in redemption. You will recall that we said God’s Word in the scriptures make us understand that:

We have a victorious destiny in Christ (2 Corinthians 2:14).

We have a glorious destiny (1 Peter 5:10; Rom. 8:29-30).

We have an enviable destiny (Genesis 26:14; Galatians 4:28).

We have a prosperous destiny in Christ (2 Cor. 8:9; 2 Cor. 9:8-11).

We have a destiny of fruitfulness in the covenant(Deuteronomy 7:14; Ps 89:34; Matthew 5:17).

We have a destiny of health and vitality in the covenant (Exodus 23:25). None of our covenant fathers were ever recorded sick; instead, they enjoyed health and vitality all through their lives.

Longevity is our portion in the covenant (Psalm 91:16). All our covenant fathers enjoyed long life. These include Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Joshua, etc (Isaiah 51:1-3; Genesis 25:7; Genesis 35:27-28; Genesis 47:28; Deuteronomy 37:7; Joshua 24:29).

I taught on how you can encounter destiny—

Through the Bible – The Living Word of God.

    Through anointed books (Hosea 12:10).

I showed you some benefits of encounters with the Word:

•Encounter with the Word connects us with destiny, our inheritance. For example, Jacob had a glorious destiny through an encounter with God (Isaiah 9:8).

•Encounter with the Word preserves our destiny, as in the case of Joseph.  (Psalm 105:17-22).

•It dignifies destiny, as it was with Samuel, who had series of encounters with the Word and emerged an honourable man of God(1 Sam. 3:21, 1 Samuel 9:6).

•It advances destiny. Diverse encounters with the Word enlarged the destinies of Abraham and Moses (Gen. 12:1-3; Gen. 22:17-18; 1Samuel 12:6).

Friend, the power to see invisible barriers crumble, is for those born again. You get born again by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are set for this, please say this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Now, I know I am born again!”

  • Covenant Gateways to supernatural restoration!

    Covenant Gateways to supernatural restoration!

Every lover of God is a candidate for His restoration agenda. His lovers are His priorities in executing His restoration agenda. So, anything that belongs to you cannot be successfully held down by any man. The release is mandatory and it is dangerous for anyone to hold back what belongs to you.

God’s lovers will not just get back what they have lost; they will also get them back with supernatural extras. For instance, when Abimelech returned Sarah, he returned her with extra treasures, men servants, maid servants, a thousand talents of silver, and any land of Abraham’s choice (Genesis 20:14-18).

Some outstanding Biblical testimonies of restoration:

•Abraham: Abraham was in love with God, so, he was called God’s friend (James 2:23; Isaiah 41:8). When Abimelech took his wife, God said to Abimelech, ‘You are a dead man, restore the man his wife.’ The enemies are not permitted to hold back anything that belongs to His lovers. Every seed of Abraham, who operates in the love of God as a lifestyle, is entitled to supernatural restoration. If you are Abraham’s seed, you will do the works of Abraham. Abraham was the friend of God, are you a friend of God?

•Job: He had a heart for God. When he was challenged, his wife told him to curse God and die, but he refused (Job 2:9). The more difficult things were for Job, the hotter his love for God. That’s all you need to flow in this great wave of restoration season that we are in. In Job 42:10-14, God visited Job with a strong wave of supernatural restoration. As long as nothing shakes your relationship with God, your restoration is sure.

•David: He was a man after God’s own heart. In 1 Samuel 13:14, the Amalekites came and invaded the city and took away all their wives, children, and belongings. And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all (1 Samuel 30:8). Every addicted lover of Christ cannot be robbed; whatever is taken from them must be returned.

    Gateways to Supernatural Restoration:

•New Birth (Romans 6:23): New birth is a fundamental requirement for every candidate of restoration. So, until you are saved, you are not a candidate for restoration.

•You must be baptized in the Holy Ghost (Isaiah 61:1-3): It is not enough to be saved, you must be empowered to qualify for restoration. You need baptism in the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in new tongues, to qualify for full-scale restoration.

•The Blood of Jesus (Zechariah 9:11-12): You can engage the Blood of Jesus in warfare, against the forces holding back what belongs to you (Revelation 12:11). The blood is God’s last card in the battles of life. So, you can engage the Blood of Jesus in warfare against the strong man sitting on your belongings.

•Kingdom stewardship (Job 22:21-25): Every true steward is God’s candidate for restoration. Kingdom stewardship is one of the gateways to supernatural restoration (1 Corinthians 2:9). God is not looking for whom to use; He is looking for whom to bless (Psalm 65:4).

•Prophets: They are agents of restoration any day, anytime and anywhere (Isaiah 42:22). So, God has positioned men to command restoration. They are called prophets, as proven all through scriptures. Elijah visited the house of the widow of Zarephath and restored her dignity in the time of famine (1 Kings 17:8-15). Her son died and by the ministry of the prophet, life came back to him (1 Kings 17:17-24). When you open your heart to the ministry of a prophet, you have opened the door of your life to a life of restoration (2 Chronicles 20:20).

Friend, the power to benefit from the above gateways, is the preserve of those who are saved. You get saved by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are set for it, please say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Wash me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You, Jesus. Now, I know I am born again!

Friend, come for a life-changing encounter at Faith Tabernacle in Canaan Land, Ota, from December 10-14, at Shiloh 2013, an annual prophetic gathering of the Winners’ family worldwide. At this event, God will surely visit you and deliver you from stagnation, frustrations, failure and destitution. Be there!
