Easter fun fiesta 2025 brings joy to children, families

The Easter weekend came alive with colours, laughter, and cheer as families gathered for the highly anticipated Easter Fun Fiesta 2025 — a two-day celebration designed to create unforgettable memories for children and their loved ones.

Held in Lekki, Lagos, the immersive event featured an array of engaging activities including bunny cuddles, Easter egg hunts, cookie decorating, face painting, carnival games, and craft corners.

It was a wonderland of excitement tailored for children of all ages, from toddlers to tweens , and provided a much-needed escape for parents seeking quality time with their kids.

Regular tickets were priced at N15,000 while VIP tickets went for N25,000, offering exclusive perks for families seeking a more curated experience.

At the event, Adesola Ajayi, one of the organisers, shared the inspiration behind the fiesta and the vision for the future.

“The take-home message for us is simple,” Ajayi said.

“Watch out for the brand, Nano, Mini, and Tots. We want to be top-of-mind for busy parents asking themselves, what do I do with my kids during the holidays? Our goal is to build trust and confidence in our brand.”

Ajayi said that the team behind the event is working toward creating a permanent space that caters to children from birth to 12 years old, a dynamic environment where kids of all ages can be fully engaged, while parents relax knowing their children are well cared for.

“When you come to our events, it won’t be one activity for a one-year-old and then nothing else,” she added. “We want to give you value for your money. Every child, whether they’re one, two, or twelve, will find something exciting to do.”

Ajayi also encouraged families who missed the Easter edition to look forward to the upcoming Independence Day Celebration and the Christmas Wonderland.

“Don’t come alone next time,” she urged.

“Bring your community, bring your grandma! Today I didn’t see many grandmas, and that made me a little sad. We want that full, multi-generational community experience.”

Behind the success of the Easter Fun Fiesta 2025 is a dynamic trio of professional women who bring a blend of expertise, passion, and parenting experience to the table:

Tosin Adeniyi, a dedicated medical doctor and seasoned global health expert, is a mother of two and a passionate advocate for play-based learning. With over 15 years in health leadership, she brings both strategic thinking and a playful spirit to the event’s planning.

Damilola Ajibade, an international property lawyer and founder of Diapers.ng, is a mum of two who combines her legal and entrepreneurial skills to deliver seamless logistics and vendor partnerships.

Adesola Ajayi, a certified project manager and mum of twin boys, brings structure and creativity to the mix. With experience in oil & gas and telecommunications, she thrives on planning high-impact, kid-friendly events that balance fun with purpose.

The Easter Fun Fiesta 2025 was not just an event, it was a movement to redefine how Nigerian families celebrate holidays.

“We’re building a brand that thinks about your child from zero to twelve,” Ajayi said. “It’s not just about fun, it’s about community, memories, and trust.”

“Our roads are being tarred and interlocked into neighbourhoods. You step out of your home and drive on a good road. The hospital is almost ready, it’s an ultra-modern facility that will soon be commissioned,” he said.

He also noted the recent completion of a modern office complex for council operations, which he described as a major step forward in strengthening local governance.

“Look at the edifice we put together for the use of the local government council officers, both political and administrative. They are fantastic. We are making use of them to develop the community,” he said.

Okeowo reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots empowerment through consistent programmes such as the monthly palliative scheme designed to uplift the most vulnerable in society.

“This is just the tip of the iceberg. We do that every month, and we will continue to empower people and make them happy,” he said.

Looking ahead, Okeowo expressed confidence in his administration’s track record, declaring the 2025 election “a done deal,” while preparing the groundwork for 2027.

He ended his remarks with a call for continued peace and unity among residents of Ifelodun LCDA.

“I want them to remain good, to remain calm. In a peaceful environment, the economy will thrive. Everyone will be happy. That’s what we want to continue to enjoy in Ifelodun.”

Speaking on the sideline, Kehinde expressed satisfaction with the level of infrastructural development, financial empowerment, and community welfare projects carried out under Okeowo’s leadership.

“What we have seen so far in Ifelodun is that the chairman has done very well. As a matter of fact, this is an exceptional performance. I have no doubt about it,” he said.

He noted that Okeowo’s efforts have positively impacted the lives of residents and brought pride to the community. “He has done so much infrastructure. He has given money to people. He has taken care of people. We are very proud to go out and talk to people. I have not seen this kind of performance for many, many years since I have been in politics.”

Looking ahead to the next election, Kehinde expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would dominate the polls in Ifelodun LCDA.

“There is no reason, when we go to the polls, I am sure that APC will sweep the polls,” he stated.

He urged members of the community to remain peaceful and united, describing the current atmosphere in the LCDA as calm and conducive for development. “The message is that they should stay cool. There is peace in the local government.”

Kehinde concluded by reaffirming his pride in the chairman’s leadership, stating, “There is no doubt that he has done us proud. I am very proud of him.”

With a blend of festive cheer, direct community impact, and sustained development efforts, Okeowo’s Easter message underscored his administration’s focus on people-first leadership.

“This mission reflects our core belief: that the true measure of a society lies in how it cares for its most disadvantaged members. It is not only an act of charity but a commitment to building a culture of compassion and resilience.

“We understand that the economic realities many families face today make even the simplest celebration seem out of reach. Easter: ACF laments insecurity, corruption, urges prayers for peace, national renewal

As Christians across Nigeria celebrate Easter, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed deep concern over the worsening socioeconomic, political, and security challenges confronting the nation, attributing them to rampant corruption, nepotism, and the extravagant lifestyles of political leaders.

In its Easter message released on Sunday in Kaduna, and signed by the forum’s national publicity secretary, Professor Tukur Muhammad Baba, the ACF lamented the continued bloodshed, displacement, and destruction in communities across Benue, Borno, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, Plateau, Zamfara, and other states.

The Forum decried the rising toll of “senseless deaths” and fractured intergroup relations, calling the situation a national tragedy that demands urgent redress.

Despite these challenges, the ACF urged Christian faithful to use the Easter season to pray for peace, national security, and economic recovery.

It also called for divine intervention to guide Nigerian leaders towards compassion, wisdom, and genuine service to the people.

According to the statement, “The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) felicitates with Nigerian and worldwide Christian brethren on the celebration of the 2025 Easter Season, a culmination of the Lent Period, itself devoted to fasting, compassion, goodwill and spiritual reflections on the pains of Crucifixion and the wonder of Resurrection that Jesus Christ went through.

“In solidarity, ACF rejoices with all on the solemn occasion and wishes all God’s abundant mercies and Grace.

“ACF is not unaware that the 2025 Easter Season is being celebrated amid continuing daunting existential socioeconomic, political and, most worryingly, security and criminality challenges. Communities in Benue, Borno, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, Plateau, Zamfara, and other states, are daily visited with debilitating and senseless deaths, destruction, dislocation, tears, and fractured intergroup relations.

“Adding to the tragedy are monstrous corruption, selfishness of leaders, nepotism, political insensitivity, inequities, impunity, lack of frugality, provocative and ostentatious lifestyles of political and other office holders, etc.

“Doubtless, living conditions are dire, particularly in the northern states and in Nigeria in general. The needed public policy responses to the problems have been grossly inadequate and far from being effective and satisfactory.

“Still, in the spirit of occasion, ACF calls on the Christian brethren to continue to pray for peace, security and economic recovery for Nigeria, for God’s intercession so that Nigeria’s leaders are re-endowed with faith, love for ordinary citizens and the wisdom to chart Nigeria to the path to righteousness and glory.

“ACF also prays for Almighty God to further re-energise the National Security agencies so that they crush the reigns of terror, criminality, and insecurity that non-state actors have been subjecting the people to and which seek to destabilise Arewa communities and the Nigeria at large; turn the hearts of the terror merchants and their sponsors away from their senseless and callous criminality. ACF also prays for the conditions which allow and embolden the evil terror merchants to be overcome.

“Believing that a more peaceful, prosperous, and socially harmonious Arewa, and Nigeria, is still possible and plausible, ACF remains hopeful that our communities will emerge more resilient, stronger, hospitable, even more accommodative for all, as opposed to the current culture of pervasive anger, mutual mistrust, intolerance, despair and hopelessness,” ACF said.

Easter beyond the Cross: Church Leaders urge Nigerians on love, sacrifice

As Christians across the world celebrate Easter Sunday, it presents more than a time of joy—it offers a critical moment for introspection. Commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Easter stands as a powerful symbol of unconditional love, sacrifice, and redemption. In a country like Nigeria, grappling with political instability, economic hardship, and social division, church leaders believe the message of Easter must transcend tradition and transform the nation’s conscience. ADEOLA OGUNLADE spoke with key church leaders who shared their reflections on the meaning of Easter and its urgent relevance in Nigeria today.

Easter, call to spiritual rededication — Baba Aladura Israel Akinadewo, President, OAIC.

For Baba Aladura Israel Akinadewo, President of the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), the Easter period is full of rich spiritual lessons that trace from Ash Wednesday through Palm Sunday to Passion Week, it is a demonstration of the memories of the remarkable sacrifice of Jesus Christ to humanity.

“Jesus fasted 40 days to confront Satan. That shows us the power of separating from sin through discipline and devotion,” he said.

Akinadewo additionally posited that Jesus’ triumphant entry to Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1-19) elicited several landmarks for believers to learn forgiveness, use the House of Prayer for things that will glorify God, and be selfless in Christians’ service to God and humanity.

He encouraged Christians to see Easter as a season to renew their walk with God and focus on eternal things.

“True Easter celebration is not about activities or pageantry—it is about rededication, forgiveness, and prayer. We must focus on the salvation race,” he said.

Akinadewo also warned leaders and believers against materialism, calling it a contradiction of the values Easter represents.

“Leaders must embrace simplicity and selflessness. Displaying wealth and pride is antithetical to Christian growth and humility.”

He also dismissed critics who question the celebration of Easter, labelling them as “Holier-than-thou Christians” who often miss the spiritual essence of the season.

Love that redeems — Emmanuel Udofia, Former Primate, The African Church

The former Primate of the African Church, Emmanuel Udofia, declared that Easter is the ultimate symbol of sacrificial love.

According to him, Easter is a profound symbol of God’s sacrificial love for humanity. He adds that it is a time to reflect on the depth of Christ’s selfless act—dying not because we were perfect or deserving but because we needed redemption.

“Jesus Christ didn’t come to die for the good or righteous; He came to rescue us from sin and darkness.

“He offered Himself not because we were good or worthy, but because without Him, we couldn’t fulfil God’s purpose in our generation,”  Udofia explained.

He described Christ’s death and re spiritually and morally so that people could live truthfullysurrection as a mission to set humanity free—spiritually and morally—so that people could live in truth and worship God sincerely.

Udofia believes the message of Easter goes beyond religion; it calls for unconditional love and unity among Nigerians.

“Every Nigerian, regardless of tribe, religion, or background, should see themselves as God’s creation—made in His image.

“When we truly love one another, there’s no room for hate, division, or destruction,” he said.

He emphasized that love is the foundation for national healing. According to him, many of the crises facing the country stem from a lack of genuine love and compassion.

“Easter teaches us that love forgives, love builds, and love unites,”

“If we embrace that, we can begin to rebuild our communities and restore peace in Nigeria.”

“When we love, we don’t kill. We don’t hate. We don’t slander.

“Love covers a multitude of sins and builds communities,” he added.

Power of remembrance, selflessness” — Archbishop Joseph Ojo, Calvary Kingdom Church

Archbishop Joseph Imariabe Ojo, General Overseer of Calvary Kingdom Church International, believes the essence of Easter is remembering the price Christ paid.

“The sinless man died for the sinful. That’s the essence of Easter, adding that “Jesus paid a debt He didn’t owe. That’s a sacrifice.”

Ojo warned against the intellectualisation or theological debates that attempt to undermine the truth of Christ’s death and resurrection.

“No argument can change what we believe. Jesus died and rose again. That is the foundation of our salvation,” he said.

He said Easter should stir not just reflection, but repentance and a recommitment to live for others.

“If we truly remember His sacrifice, then we should also be ready to sacrifice. Our leaders, especially, must learn that true leadership is about giving up something for the good of others

Preach truth, not hyper-grace — Bishop Chidi, President, Pentecostal Ministers Forum

For Bishop Chidi, President of the Pentecostal Ministers Forum (PMF), Easter is a moment for the Nigerian church to recalibrate.

“Despite the massive presence of churches in Nigeria, we remain one of the most corrupt and fraudulent nations.

“Why? Because many churches have derailed from preaching the truth,” he said.

He urged pastors and church leaders to use the Easter season as a time to return to the gospel of repentance and righteous living.

“We need to preach the original message of the cross—condemning sin and calling for transformation,” he said. “Not hyper-grace messages that make people comfortable in wrongdoing.”

He warned that unless churches begin to stand boldly for truth and integrity, the impact of Christianity in Nigeria will continue to decline.

“Easter is about the power of transformation. That same power must reflect in our pulpits and our people.”

  • Easter: Season of healing, forgiveness power —Uma Ukpai

Easter: Season of healing, forgiveness power —Uma Ukpai

    • By Ayoyinka Jegede

Renowned televangelist and spiritual leader, Rev. (Dr.) Uma Ukpai, has called on Nigerians and Christians around the world to embrace the true essence of Easter — a season of sacrifice, healing, forgiveness, and divine restoration.

Ukpai, an octogenarian, philanthropist, and Founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, is widely respected for his profound teachings on the supernatural, his deep compassion for humanity, and his holistic ministry approach that bridges the spiritual and physical needs of individuals.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ayoyinka Jegede, the revered man of God shares timeless insights on the significance of Easter, the messages it carries, and why embracing the resurrected Christ is the key to lasting transformation in life and society.

    The significance of Easter

Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, which is a foundational belief in Christianity.

For Christians, Easter symbolises new beginnings and victory over death. It signifies that through faith in Jesus Christ, believers can receive salvation. The resurrection of Christ is seen as a triumph over sin and death, which gives believers hope for their own future and eternal life with God.

It’s a reflection on the sacrificial life that Jesus Christ, our Saviour, exhibited. And Easter celebration re-enacts the suffering, death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This is very important to Christianity because Christ’s death and resurrection is the evidence of our Justification. Easter shows Christ’s death and resurrection and the hope to overcome our sins. It shows Christ’s victory over principalities and power, making an open show of them. It likewise signifies Christ’s victory over death and the grave, which is our victory as Christians. The Bible says that if Christ were not resurrected, then all those who have died would perish. Without resurrection, our gospel is in vain. We celebrate Easter because it is important for the church to continue to rehash the story.

Easter stands as proof that everything that Jesus said about himself was true. What Jesus said he would do, he did, and what he promised meant.

The significance of Easter shows that knowing Jesus, who He is, is the solution to all of life’s problems and the remedy for all of life’s ills. The Great Physician, the Miracle Worker. And as you walk with Him, you will see the blind receive their sight and the deaf their hearing. The mentally ill will receive soundness of mind, the crippled and paralyzed will walk, and life will be restored to the dead.

    Prophetic anointing, divine power

Everywhere Jesus went, because of the anointing on Him, He produced divine visitation, and when heaven visits a man, the curtain of his reproach will be removed and destroyed. And his mountain that blocks his way will be leveled. Heaven can visit a man through the prophet it has sent to be a blessing to such a man. This act to an ordinary man, contradicts common sense. How can an ordinary handkerchief bring healing to the sick? But a born-again child of God carries the power of God, and God is at work in his life. The transferable anointing of the power of God makes miracles easy by the hands of those who walk with God and believe in His ability to make the impossible possible.

Indeed, wherever Jesus goes, he leaves a trail of testimonies of sound minds and healing bodies

In order to receive the healing that Jesus came to give, you must know Him personally and know him experientially, emphatically and as a man knows the back of his hand. He is the source of life and He is life itself; therefore, receive the person of Jesus and you receive the life of Jesus, for your spirit, mind and body.

The Bible says in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God and the word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us. Jesus Christ is the word of God. John 1:1,14. Again, Jesus is the Word. Therefore, to receive the Healer and His miraculous power, receive the Word. When you receive the word, you will receive Christ the Healer, Christ the Saviour and Christ the Redeemer. The book of Psalms 107:20 says; He sent his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. In Bible days, a Roman army officer, whose servant was very ill, came to Jesus saying, “Speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed” (Matthew 8:8).

    What to learn from Easter

The message we should learn from Easter is the message of sacrifice, forgiveness. God’s only begotten Son came to this world, sacrificed His life that we might be redeemed. Since He laid down His life for us, we ought to make sacrifices for others also, and that is the message. There are so many things to learn from Easter. For example, while on the cross, Jesus prayed to the Father and said: “forgive them for they know not what they are doing.” For a man who was in so much pain, to whom people had done such excruciating things and who endured such misery in the hands of people He came to help and was still able to forgive. To me, that is something wonderful.

We must learn forgiveness from Easter. Offences will come, people will hurt one another, but at Easter we must learn to forgive ourselves. Easter gives us room to reflect and stretch forth an olive branch and forgive one another. We should not do it physically and then forget about the spiritual significance.

    Benefits

Easter brings the solution to all life’s problems and offers the remedy for all life’s ills. The Lord Jesus Christ, the great Physician, the Miracle worker died for our sins and resurrected so that we might enjoy numerous benefits which include: Salvation, justification, healings, soundness of mind, restoration, the blind receives their sight, indeed, wherever He goes He leaves a trail of happy hearts, sound minds and healthy bodies.

     Charge

Seeing the benefit of Easter, everyone should give his or her life to Jesus Christ and accept Jesus Christ as their Personal Lord and Saviour. Receiving Jesus is not just a story from scripture, but as the Living Word, the source of life and hope.
