The Presidency yesterday dismissed the reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had removed his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and replaced him with his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
In a statement in Abuja by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency described the reports, which circulated widely on social media, as a “viral falsehood” with no basis in fact, urging Nigerians to disregard them entirely.
“The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to a viral falsehood circulating on social media suggesting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola,” the statement said.
It stressed that there was “absolutely no truth to this story,” stressing that both officials remain firmly in their respective positions.
“The Chief of Staff remains in his position. The Principal Private Secretary likewise remains in his role. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has not replaced Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff,” the Presidency stated.
According to the statement, the claim was a deliberate fabrication aimed at sowing discord within the government.
The Presidency described those behind it as “mischievous purveyors of fake news” bent on creating disharmony.
It cautioned the media and social media users on the dangers of spreading unverified information, urging journalists and platforms to uphold professional standards of verification before publishing or sharing reports.

Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila has said that future leaders of the country must develop patience to listen, significant wisdom to unite and strength to make principled decisions even they are difficult.
He said that such requirements were necessary for any intending leader to make impact in a diverse country like Nigeria with its complexity, plurality, and beauty.
Gbajabiamila made the submission during the graduation ceremony of Cohort 4 of Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI) held at the Secretariat of the Conference of Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures (CoSPAL) in Abuja on Saturday.
The Chief of Staff, who founded the Initiative during his time as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, said that LMI has continued to uphold the values for which it was established.
He said: “A lesson I hope the LMI fellowship programme has engraved in your minds is that leadership is first a matter of character before it is a matter of competence. A person’s brilliance may open the door, but it is their integrity that keeps them in the room.
“In a diverse country like ours—with its complexity, plurality, and beauty—anyone who wishes to lead must develop the patience to listen, the wisdom to unite, and the strength to make principled decisions even when they are difficult.
“That is why we are very deliberate about diversity and inclusion at LMI from the very beginning. In the LMI design, we were intentional in creating cohorts that learn together, debate together, laugh together, work together, and quite importantly, grow together. That my dear fellows-in-training is the true spirit of our LMI. And when you leave this hall today, I urge you to carry that spirit with you. This is the spirit that will build the nation of our dreams.
“Let me emphasise that today is not an ‘end’. It is only a point of departure. From here, you step into the world with a deeper sense of purpose. From here, you join the family of 167 LMI Fellows and ambassadors of all the values we held dear.”
Speaker of the Ghanian Parliament and chairman of CoSPAL, Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford-Bagbin said that Africa must be diligent in nurturing its leaders to make the desired impact.
“If we desire a country and a continent that is stable, prosperous and democratic, then we must nurture and mentor leaders with the integrity, competence and vision required for the 21st Century.
“I recall an African proverb which says that: ‘the child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.’ This is a reminder that when young people yearn to lead, we owe a responsibility to train, guide and equip them for the task ahead.
“That is the vision and foresight that has been demonstrated by my brother and bosom friend, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila through the establishment of the LMI as one of his numerous legacy projects as the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives of the Federal Republic Nigeria,” he said.
Chairman of LMI Planning Advisory Committee and Secretary-General of CoSPAL, Amb. ’Dapo Oyewole said that LMI has continued to live up to its objectives, applauding Gbajabiamila for his vision.
“Before these 50 exceptional young Nigerians sitting before us, the LMI had graduated 167 Fellows across three cohorts 2022, 2023 and 2024. Our LMI Fellows are now serving in the public sector with distinction – the State House; Office of the Speaker, across the National Assembly, and the National Assembly Library Trust Fund; Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
“The LMI has, from inception, been intentional about representing Nigeria in all its diversity. And every year, we strengthened that commitment by ensuring as much gender and ethnic balance and also Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) are fully included—reminding us that leadership must always be inclusive, equitable and truly reflective of the society we aim to serve, and the best form of leadership is by example.
“I would also like to add that beyond the formal residential training sessions here in Abuja, the LMI has nurtured a vibrant and self-sustaining alumni community—one that continues to exemplify the programme’s values long after graduation,” he said.
The Director of the Initiative, Solape Sonuga in her remarks said that students have acquired requisite leadership skills to contribute their quota to the development of the country.
“His (Gbajabiamila) belief in young people, his commitment to institutional strengthening, and his relentless drive for excellence are the pillars upon which this programme stands. Sir, we are grateful for your continued support and guidance.
“You (participants) came in as individuals with passion, and you are leaving as a community of emerging leaders equipped with the knowledge, networks, and clarity needed to shape the future of governance in Nigeria and beyond. Watching your growth has been one of the most fulfilling parts of this programme,”she said.
The highlight of the event was the commissioning of the CosPAL Secretariat which houses the Initiative in Abuja.
Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has said that the Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI) is building a community of leaders committed to public service.
Speaking at the inauguration of the fourth cohort of LMI in Abuja, Gbajabiamila said the initiative is expanding across Africa in partnership with the Conference of Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures (CoSPAL), led by its Secretary-General, Ambassador Dapo Oyewole.
The former Speaker, who is the founder of the initiative, reaffirmed the vision behind the initiative, describing leadership as “a conscious act of service and a deliberate choice to rise above self and give meaning to the lives of others.”
He reflected on LMI’s journey since its inception in 2022, emphasising that what began as a Nigerian project has evolved into a continental model of mentorship and legislative capacity development, with the alumni making a tangible impact across public institutions ranging from the State Houses of assembly to the National Assembly, and in civil society organisations across Africa.
He said, “History will judge us by how well we prepare those who will inherit our institutions, our democracy, and our shared destiny. Through LMI, we are building a living community of leaders bound by shared values, integrity, empathy, and a passion for public service.
“The Legislative Mentorship Initiative will now operate under the framework of the Conference of Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures. Through this partnership, African Parliaments will be able to nominate exceptional young leaders to participate in the fellowship — building a continent-wide network of young Africans who will learn, collaborate, and shape the future of our continent together.”
The former Speaker also announced the Oluwadamilola Agbaje Outstanding Fellow Award, named in honour of a late alumnus, to recognise other fellows who exemplified integrity and excellence in public service.
In his remarks, Amb. Oyewole, who is also Chairman of LMI Planning and Advisory Committee, commended the Founder for his vision, reaffirming CoSPAL’s commitment towards scaling the Initiative’s impact across Africa.
“The three years in which I have been responsible for running the Legislative Mentorship Initiative under the leadership of our Founder have been truly remarkable. I am deeply thankful for his leadership and the trust he bestowed in me, alongside my exceptional team, to manage this programme. In just three years, LMI has become one of Africa’s most respected leadership development programmes.
“As we expand LMI to other Africans, under the auspices of CoSPAL, we aim to institutionalise mentorship across parliaments, strengthen intergenerational leadership pipelines, and build a new architecture for public sector excellence in Africa.”
Oyewole further stated that under CoSPAL, LMI will serve as a pan-African public sector leadership academy to strengthen capacity and foster collaboration among young leaders and emerging legislators across the continent, in line with the vision of LMI’s founder.
He urged the LMI Cohort Four to embody “moral, intellectual, and responsive leadership that listens, learns, and leads with empathy and vision.”
Director of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative, Ms. Solape Sonuga, expressed gratitude to the Founder as well as the CoSPAL’s leadership for the renewed direction of the programme, describing LMI as “a convergence of shared purpose and intergenerational collaboration.”
“From over 7,000 applications, only 50 exceptional young Nigerians were selected for this cohort. This opportunity represents not just personal growth, but a collective responsibility to redefine leadership across our continent,” she said.

The Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, on Wednesday inaugurated a secondary school in Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Surulere area of Lagos, the first- ever public secondary school in the community.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)reports that the school was facilitated by the Chief of Staff to the President.
Inaugurating the school, Gbajabiamila Junior Secondary School, the Chief of Staff said hardship faced by parents and guardians accessing secondary education for their children and wards had ended.
“This event marks a defining milestone in our collective pursuit of accessible, quality education for every child in this community.
“It is not merely opening a new institution but the birth of opportunity, progress, and renewed hope for generations to come.
“For the first time in the history of Itire-lkate, this community now has a public secondary school within its borders,” he said.
Gbajabiamila, who was represented by Rep. Lanre Okunola, member representing Surulere II at the House of Representatives, said that parents had been watched their children travel long distances daily to attend schools outside their community for many years.
He added: “Some faced daily hardships and safety concerns, while others abandoned their education altogether.
Today, that struggle has ended.
“This school stands as a beacon of inclusion, ensuring that no child in Itire-lkate is left behind because of geography or circumstances, which also reflects the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu to provide continuous support for education at all levels in Nigeria.”
According to him, education has always been the foundation of every prosperous society as it empowers individuals, transforms communities, and builds nations.
Gbajabiamila said that throughout his years in public service, he had remained deeply committed to advancing education at all levels.
He recounted that during his tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives, he championed the Students’ Loan Bill, now signed into law.
Thanking President Tinubu for assenting to the bill, he said that the idea aimed to ensure that every young Nigerian, regardless of financial background, could pursue higher education without the burden of cost.
“However, education does not start at university; it begins in schools like this, where young minds are nurtured and shaped for the future,” he said.
He said that his involvement with education had never been limited to policy or legislation.
“In Surulere, we have worked to renovate schools, equip classrooms, and provide teaching aids.
“I have volunteered to teach in secondary schools, believing leadership must be demonstrated through action, not just words.
“By sharing my time and experience with students, I have seen firsthand how education fosters discipline, confidence, and purpose.
“This school embodies the same commitment to give every child the opportunity to learn, dream, and succeed,” he added.
The chief of staff appreciated the leaders, stakeholders, and people of Itire-lkate LCDA for naming the institution after him.
According to him, the influence of the institution will extend well beyond its classrooms.
“It will create jobs for teachers, administrators, and support staff, and it will serve as a centre of learning and community pride.
“It will shape the next generation of leaders, innovators, and professionals who will contribute to the progress of Lagos State and Nigeria.
“When a community invests in education, it invests in peace, prosperity, and continuity,” he said.

“With access to qualitative education in the state, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the chief of staff to Mr President and by extension to everyone that has contributed to the realisation of this remarkable project.
“This life-transforming project no doubt profoundly impacts countless students, shaping the future and contributing importantly to the advancement of the education sector, particularly in the Itire-Ikate and the state in general.
He said that the school would serve as a beacon of hope and a symbol of progress the state worked hard to achieve.
“The project embodies our collective commitment to providing, quality education, equipping our children with skills, knowledge, values necessary to excel in life.
“This project in no doubt aligns with the present administration ‘s THEMES Plus Agenda, in which education and technology stood out as a top pillar,” he said.
Also speaking, Rep. Fuad Laguda, representing Surulere 1 Federal Constituency, noted that Gbajabiamila’s numerous interventions had continued to put him on his toes, as the former speaker’s successor.
Speaking, Chairman, Coker/Aguda LCDA, Mr Azeez Ogidan, described the project as monumental and a big gift for Surulere constituency.
Ogidan said that Gbajabiamila had over the years demonstrated visionary leadership and passion for service with a far-reaching impact on education, healthcare, infrastructure and youth empowerment.
According to him, Gbajabiamila’s interventions have continued to touch lives, transform communities and strengthen the social fabrics of Surulere.
“This school stands not only as the beacon of knowledge, but also as a lasting legacy of Gbajabiamila’s education impact, building a brighter future for our children,” he said.

The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has emphasized that collective responsibility remains vital to building a healthier and safer Nigeria. He urged citizens to place greater focus on prevention and preparedness as central pillars for strengthening the nation’s public health systems.
This is as the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate, emphasized that investing in infection control, hygiene, and antimicrobial resistance not only saves countless lives but also strengthens the nation’s health system.
Speaking in Abuja on Monday at the 10th anniversary of the DRASA Health Trust, Gbajabiamila commended the organization for a decade of consistent efforts in infection prevention, outbreak response, and health education, describing its work as crucial to Nigeria’s health security and sustainable development.
DRASA Health Trust was established in memory of Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, who lost her life after bravely containing Nigeria’s first Ebola case in July 2014.
When Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer arrived in Lagos showing symptoms of the virus, Dr. Adadevoh recognized the threat, enforced quarantine measures, and prevented a potential nationwide outbreak sacrificing her own life in the process.
The Chief of Staff noted that no government can tackle public health challenges in isolation, calling on citizens, communities, and civil society groups to work together to strengthen health systems across the country.
“Government can only do so much. In Nigeria or anywhere else, true progress requires collective effort. Governance is about all of us pulling together,” he said.
On this, Gbajabiamila described DRASA Health Trust as a model of proactive health engagement, stressing that public health must be viewed as a shared responsibility among government institutions and the wider community.
“This is what we need, institutions that sensitise people and promote the principle that prevention is better than cure. We must act before problems arise, not after damage is done.
“Health is wealth, and a healthy nation is a wealthy nation. DRASA embodies preparedness, prevention, and collective responsibility. That’s exactly the mindset Nigeria needs,” he added.
Gbajabiamila also paid tribute to the late Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, whose courage during the 2014 Ebola outbreak saved millions of lives. “Imagine what might have happened if she hadn’t put others before herself. Her selflessness should inspire us all to act with courage and think beyond our personal interests,” he said.
On his part, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate, urged Nigerians to learn from the sacrifice of the late Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh by investing more deliberately in disease prevention and health security.
Pate described Dr. Adadevoh’s courage, which helped avert a catastrophic Ebola outbreak in 2014, as a timeless reminder of how individual responsibility can safeguard an entire nation.
Represented by Dr. Nse Akpan, the Director of Port Health Services at the Ministry commended DRASA for transforming personal tragedy into a national movement for prevention and resilience, noting its achievements in training over 15,700 health workers, mobilizing nearly 100,000 Health Champions, and supporting key health policies.
“Every naira invested in infection control, hygiene, and antimicrobial resistance saves countless lives and strengthens our health system,” he said.
Pate urged the government, private sector, and communities to “Walk with DRASA” into its next decade by supporting its plan to train 50,000 more health workers and expand its grassroots network.
“As we honour Dr. Adadevoh’s heroism, we must all accept that health security is everyone’s business,” he added.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of DRASA Health Trust, Dr. Niniola Williams, reflected on the organization’s journey since its founding in 2015, describing it as “born out of tragedy but built on purpose.”
She recalled the moment that inspired DRASA’s creation: “My aunt said, ‘I think I have a patient with Ebola. Don’t tell anyone.’ That decision cost her life but saved millions.”
Dr. Williams said what began as a memorial initiative has evolved into a national institution dedicated to disease prevention and infection control.
“Over the past decade, DRASA has trained thousands of frontline health workers, equipped hospitals and border posts with infection control skills, and contributed to 28 national and sub-national health policies,” noted.
She highlighted stories that reflect the organization’s impact, a young Health Champion teaching disease prevention in her church, a nurse transforming her hospital practice after DRASA’s training, and rapid nationwide training during COVID-19.
“Ten years on, we have grown from a memorial tribute into a national institution shaping how Nigeria prevents disease and protects health,” she said.
However, Dr. Williams said DRASA’s next decade will focus on building resilient clinics, reliable protocols, and empowered communities through the establishment of the DRASA Academy, a hub for training 50,000 additional health workers and advancing infection prevention and control practices nationwide.
She also announced plans to integrate antimicrobial resistance education into schools, expand youth leadership in health governance, and set up Centres of Excellence in all six geopolitical zones.
“We are formalizing youth participation so that those who will inherit this system help design it now,” she said.
As part of the anniversary celebration, DRASA launched its Endowment Fund and premiered a documentary chronicling its decade-long journey.
Dr. Williams urged stakeholders to increase investment in prevention, warning that underfunding could leave Nigeria vulnerable to preventable diseases and misinformation.
“A Nigeria without DRASA’s support is a Nigeria more vulnerable to disease, panic, and avoidable economic loss,” she cautioned.
The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila on Friday inaugurated a 1,200-capacity auditorium he facilitated at Abalti Army Barracks, Surulere, Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that, the auditorium, named Bola Tinubu Hall, is one the projects facilitated by the Chief of Staff at the barracks.
At the inauguration, Gbajabiamila, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, said that the military deserved better recognition and dividends of democracy even when they do not ask like the electorate.
He said, “The military has done so well in stabilising this country and this democracy.
“And that is why when you talk about dividends of democracy, normally it is the civilians, our people, our electorate that talk about and ask for dividends of democracy.
“But you guys don’t ask for it. It is given to you naturally because we understand the role you play in Nigeria.
“If you are doing that, it behoves on us, as elected officials, and unelected officials as I am now, to make sure that you live in a comfortable environment, that you operate within a comfortable environment that will make your work easier.
“That’s why we commission projects here on a regular basis. This is another one of them: over 1,000 capacity hall, it is furnished, fully air-conditioned, with an 80 kVA generator and it is ultra-modern.
“And why do we do that? We do that because the army, the military is an integral part of any democracy.”
According to him, without security, there cannot be democracy.
Gbajabiamila conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s leadership commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of the officers and men of the military.
He expressed the President’s gratitude for the role the men and women in the military play, and for sacrificing, sometimes even paying the supreme sacrifice, to keep the country one.
According to him, the facility allows the military to host events, to do training and conferences as well as help to generate revenue.
Gbajabiamila added that he was working to pull down the old bungalows in the barracks and replace them with a multi-storey residential building, “which will be our next project for this barracks”.
He added that efforts had been made to build and inaugurate an ultra modern new residential building at the nearby police barracks, “Yours is coming, too”.
He added, “I want to thank you for all that you have been doing, not just in Surulere, but for what you’ve been doing for everyone, even outside Surulere.
“We thank you for how you have been able to maintain peace and security within Surulere
“The traditional role of the military, even constitutionally, is to protect the territorial integrity of our country, but sometimes you are called upon to step outside that traditional role to maintain internal security.
“And not once have you wavered in that call to duty. May God continue to bless you. May God continue to keep all of you.
“May you continue to serve your motherland dutifully, responsibly and with the same commitment and faith that Nigeria will continue to be one. Nigeria will continue to be strong.”
According to him, the nation’s democracy is growing and doing well, noting that the President has full commitment towards the welfare of the men and women in uniform.
“I have served many presidents, I have seen many presidents and I have worked with many presidents. They all have the same commitment towards our men and women in uniform. They all have commitment towards you.
“But I have not seen one that has the kind of commitment, the kind of passion, like President Bola Tinubu does for you,” he added.
Speaking, Mr Muiz Dosunmu, the Vice Chairman, Surulere Local Government, who described the council as the best in Nigeria, said that council had been relating peacefully with the Abalti Barracks community.
He said that the cooperation and collaboration between the two parties had facilitated many notable projects in the barracks.
“Surulere is leading in all facets: development, education, sports, health infrastructure. We have tried to be the best and people can see, we don’t need to blow our trumpet unnecessarily.
“We believe we can do more than we are doing and we promise to do more than what we are doing. We are not leaving any man behind, everybody is being carried along, involved and integrated, as advised by the chief of staff to the President.
“We keep promising that we will always be the vocal point of whatever is happening in Nigeria,” he said.
He applauded Gbajabiamila for doing his best not for the council alone ,but for the state and the country.
In his keynote address, Director of Nigeria Army on Corps, Lt.-Col. Michael Toriola, who described Gbajabiamila as a role model, philanthropist and a man with a good heart, commended the chief of staff vision and commitment to the welfare of the military.
Toriola applauded Gbajabiamila for building the Hall and other projects that had been put in place in the barracks out of his magnanimity.
“Sir, we appreciate you. This is a true reflection of your commitment to the well-being of officers, our family and men. It underscores the importance of creating an environment where we can perform and thrive.
“The completion of this facility (Bola Tinubu Hall) goes beyond mere infrastructure, it represents progress, professionalism and a deep pride in service.
“As we commission this gigantic hall today, may it stand as a lasting symbol of our shared commitment to excellence and service,” he said.
The event was attended by many APC leaders including a member representing Surulere Constituency I in the House of Assembly, Mr Desmond Elliot, officers and men of the Nigerian Army.
Soludo: any politician talking of one term needs psychiatric examination
The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has asked northern political leaders to support President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
Gbajabiamila, speaking during the 2025 Dialogue Session of the Northern Caucus of the National Forum of Former Legislators, which he hosted in Abuja, described President Tinubu as a leader whose track record and commitment to national unity warrant unwavering support.
Further endorsement of the President for a second term came yesterday from Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago and other stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
They said they were solidly behind the President and Bago for their reelection.
Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, who is seeking a fresh mandate in the November 8 off season election, declared that any politician talking of serving for only one term needs psychiatric attention.
Gbajabiamila told his audience in Abuja to mobilise support for Tinubu’s administration and his second-term ambition.
Nigeria’s development, according to him, rests on unity, continuity and adherence to political agreements.
“President Tinubu is not just a Southern leader; he is a national leader who has carried every region along. From critical infrastructure to policy reforms, the North is benefitting from a government that believes in equity and shared prosperity,” Gbajabiamila said.
He said ongoing projects across the north such as road networks, rail line expansions, and agricultural revitalization efforts are evidence of the administration’s balanced approach to national development.

Niger APC stakeholders give backing
The Niger State APC leaders said President Tinubu and Governor Bago, having taken giant strides in their first term, deserve to be supported for a second term.
Leader of Niger State APC Caucus at the National Assembly and Senator representing Niger East, Muhammad Sani Musa, moved the motion for the endorsement, and was seconded by the member representing Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency, Saidu Musa Abdul.
Other high profile members of the party, including Information and National Orientation Minister Muhammad Idris Malagi; Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Abdullahi Sabi; and Vice Chairman APC North Central, Mu’azu Bawa, all commended the transformational efforts of both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umaru Bago, and called for their continuity in office.
Niger State Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba; Speaker Niger State House of Assembly Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji; Chairman APC Niger State Aminu Musa Bobi and ALGON Chairman Niger State, Ilyasu Zakari, were also among the APC bigwigs at the event.
In his remarks, Bago thanked all the APC stakeholders for the trust and confidence reposed i him, saying all APC members should remain committed to the growth of the party which was instrumental to their emergence in their various political positions.
He asked APC supporters to continue to play key roles in promoting the party and canvassing support for Tinubu.
The Niger State endorsement came on the heels of last Wednesday’s support by North’s leaders at a two-day roundtable on Government-Citizen Engagement held in Kaduna.
Information and National Orientation Minister Mohammed Idris said at the end of the conference: “The verdict from most northern opinion leaders, technocrats and academics, amongst others, is that the Tinubu administration is pro-North in all ramifications – from appointments to spending on the region in infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, livestock, housing and the unprecedented opportunity it offers for the northern youth.
“The ministers and heads of parastatals who attended the event performed creditably in communicating the achievements of President Tinubu.”
Present at the engagement were representatives of the Federal Government, led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, and included the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, members of the Federal Executive Council, heads of federal agencies, Chief of Defence Staff and security chiefs from the Northern part of the country.
Aiyedatiwa to coordinate Tinubu’s re-election in Ondo
Ondo State Information and Orientation Commissioner, Idowu Ajanaku, said yesterday that political structures in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the state would be coordinated by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
This, Ajanaku said, was to guide against disorganised or unauthorised campaign activities.
He reaffirmed Aiyedatiwa’s leadership role in coordinating all political structures in the state, following the launch of the “Ondo State for Tinubu 2027” campaign platform by the governor during a meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) state leaders at the Government House, Akure, the state capital.
The governor had declared the platform as the unified and umbrella body for all pro-Tinubu support groups operating in the state.
Ajanaku said in a statement that the initiative was consistent with the provisions of the APC Constitution, which recognises the governor as the state leader of the party.
He said: “As the leader of the APC in Ondo State, Governor Aiyedatiwa bears the legitimate mandate to coordinate and streamline all campaign efforts in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.”
The Commissioner said Aiyedatiwa’s long-standing alliance with President Tinubu since 2012 and his deep understanding of the President’s political vision make him well-positioned to champion the coordinated effort.
He added: “This is not just a show of loyalty but a strategic move to prevent factionalism and promote unity within the party.”
Ajanaku urged individuals and groups promoting President Tinubu’s second term ambition to do so within the framework of the governor’s political structure.
He said: “While His Excellency welcomes and appreciates the enthusiasm of all support groups, such activities must operate under the umbrella of “Ondo State for Tinubu 2027″ and by extension the governor’s leadership.”
The Commissioner cautioned against any parallel or unauthorised campaign activities that may sow discord or create political tension in the state.
He urged party faithful to embrace unity, discipline and constitutional order as the 2027 political calendar unfolds.
Soludo: any politician talking of one term needs psychiatric examination
Governor Soludo said any politician promising to serve only one term is only lying.
Such politicians should undergo psychiatric test, he said at a rally.
His words: “The next governor after Chukwuma Soludo will come from Anambra Central. Anybody who is contesting for governor from Anambra South is trying to disrupt the zoning system in Anambra.
“Some of them want to come to lie to us. How can anybody with brain, you think you are talking to fools’ you come to people and say I will do only one term.
“Any politician who said that must be sent to the psychiatric because the person must have some mental problem.
“When the constitution allows you to stay for eight years, you are coming to tell us I am going to spend only one term. Tell us where it has ever happened. Who?
“Anybody who is saying ‘I’m going to do one term needs psychiatric examination, because you are taking everybody else to be a fool.
“Anambra, we have advanced. There are calibre and category of people that Anambra has. We are not going to go back. Street urchins, Anambra has no place for street urchins.
“Some of them, their secondary school certificate is questionable. They have no school cert. I tell you. Anyway, that is for another day; not today.
“Some of them have no school cert; they want to be governor of Anambra. Anambra of Azikiwe, Nwafor Orizu of this world, of Odumegwu Ojukwu, Alex Ekwueme, Chinua Achebe; that is the state we are talking about.
“I am getting angry actually when they say they want to be governor of Anambra. Very annoying. With GCE; without knowing who took it for them.”

He pointed to ongoing infrastructure projects across Northern Nigeria, including road networks, rail line expansions, and agricultural revitalization efforts, as evidence of the administration’s balanced approach to national development.
