    Harrysong loses dad

    Five Star Music recording act, Harrysong, is currently bereaved, according to report. The music artiste is said to be presently mourning the loss of his father, barely two weeks after he celebrated his 34th birthday.

    The old man is said to have passed on last Friday, April 10.

    His publicist, Desmond Ike, who was said to have confirmed the sad news said; “Yes it’s true, the call just came in a few minutes ago and he is currently demoralized. We’ll put out an official statement soon.”

    FIVE Star music signee, Harrysong appears to have found love, but it is not clear yet if the lady is disposed to him.

    The singer who was a guest at Pepsi Top Ten Chart show, fished the lady from the crowd, leading her to the dance floor. Perhaps thrilled by her beauty and dancing skill, he adorned her neck with his gold chain.

    Excited, she increased her dance energy.

    At the end of the performance, Harrysong held the University of Lagos student and looked straight into her eyes and declared, “Girl, I love you.” She simply smiled and walked away.

    WITH his second performance at the Lagos Countdown held last Friday at Eko Atlantic, Victoria Island, Lagos, wave-making singer, KCee, once again, blew up the stage at the Star Beer Village.

    The Pull Over crooner, who was accompanied by singer and songwriter, Harrysong, stole the show as he dished out hit songs.

    As usual, he splashed an undisclosed sum of money on the fans during the show.

    Fans, who turned out in large numbers to see singer May D perform, were also not disappointed, as he delivered his performance as part of the exciting line up of activities at the Star Beer Village.

    Donning a bright red jacket with black pants and backed up by his athletic dancers, May D gave the crowd a music treat in its best form for almost 20 minutes, performing Ile Ijo, Gat Me High, Ur Eyes and a number of other songs. His performance, though brief in the opinion of his fans, was wrapped up with his popular hit, So Many Tinz.

    • Free concert for the deceased holds today

     Blazing the trail among dozens of tribute songs released in the aftermath of Nelson Mandela’s death is Tribute to Mandela, a free memorial single released by Nigerian singer-songwriter, Harrysong.

    The song, according to an official figure released yesterday, has amassed a record of one million downloads in 24 hours.

    “Mandela, we love you and we wish not to let you go,” is a line in the song that eulogizes the late South African anti-apartheid icon, which is being offered for free download.

    Pundits say the rising singer’s cut, which is available solely on MTN, Nigeria’s dominant telecoms player with over 56 million subscribers, has recorded over two million caller tune downloads so far, smashing all records.

    The song was released on Wednesday December 11, six days after the death of the freedom fighter, who spent 27 years in jail before emerging the country’s first black president.

    Dozens of Nigerian musicians will gather today for a massive tribute concert in honour of the late freedom fighter.

    The show will be convened by Mo Abudu‘s Ebony Life TV in collaboration with some top Nigerian stars.

    Tagged “The Legacy Lives: A Tribute Concert”, the event, which is being planned by Funmi Victor-Okigbo of No Surprises Events, has been scheduled to take place at the Ocean view Restaurant, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    Expected to perform at the show are music and comic acts, including D’banj, 2Face Idibia, Darey Art-Alade, Burna Boy, Ikechukwu “Killz”, eLDee, Tiwa Savage, J Martins, Timi Dakolo, Niyola, Zaina, Mo Eazy, Waje, Omawumi, Mike Aremu, Engager, Chioma, DJ Babus, Julius Agwu and Rocksteady.
