    ONE of Nigeria’s most talented comedians, Julius Agwu will be storming Abuja in grand style come September 29th for the 2013 edition of the annual Crack Ya Ribs show in Abuja. The A-list act recently staged a spectacular Crack Ya Ribs concerts in London and Manchester on August 23rd and August 25th respectively.

    Billed to take place at Trancorp Hilton, the event will parade some of Nigeria’s finest entertainers. Two music stars, Kcee and Ice Prince will headline the concert while comic acts like Akpororo, I Go Dye, I Go Save, Triple White, Mc Longs and Mc Jay will thrill the crowd endlessly with their rib cracking jokes.

    Speaking concerning the event, Julius said Abuja event will be top notch because he is bringing lots of surprises. “We are taking the heat from London and Manchester to Abuja. We had a great show over there and we can’t wait to replicate it in Abuja. Aside the announced names of performers, there will be lots of surprises and gifts to be worn. We are packaging a top notch event”.

    For over a decade, Crack Ya Ribs has always been an exhilarating night of sophisticated music, dance and comedy that has featured some of the best entertainers in the music industry like D’Banj, Timaya, 9ice and others. Having earned his stripes as far entertainment business is concerned; Julius Agwu remains one of the most sought after comedians in Africa. His comedy concerts are always hilarious and fun filled.

    THE 2013 edition of The Future Awards Africa comes up in August 2013 and a number of Nigerian artistes are pulling their weight on the nominees list. Held in partnership with the Youth Office of the African Union Commission, organisers have said that there will be no public voting for this year’s edition of the reward system.

    Nominated in the Future Awards Prize in Entertainment Talent category are Ice Prince (28), OC Ukeje (32), Iyanya (27), Omawumi (31) and El Mafrex (29). Following the release of the nominees list, a one-month judging process begins immediately with the board of judges and the Independent Audit Committee, including distinguished Nigerians like the Mnet chief executive Biola Alabi, the founder of LEAP Africa, Ndidi Nwuneli and others.

    Organisers of the award say that nominees for Future Awards Prize in Entertainment Enterprise category will be announced in conjunction with the British Council for ‘The International Young Media Entrepreneur of the Year Award Prize.’ The list comprises a total of 15 categories with five nominees in each.

    CASHING in on the success the Nigerian release of Single and Married in 2012, Silverbird Distributions Limited will, come Friday, July 19, release the third self-produced film and second cinema feature of Ghanaian screen idol; Yvonne Nelson, titled House of Gold.

    A red carpet premiere holding exclusively at Silverbird Galleria in Lagos, Nigeria will showcase a parade of Nollywood, Ghollywood and other entertainment icons from various sectors.

    The flick which was Executive Produced by Media GH in partnership with Yvonne Nelson was directed by 2012 Ghana Movie Awards winner for Best Director, Pascal Amanfo, is described by Yvonne Nelson “as a comedy filled with lots of laugh out loud moments and loaded with so much excitement such that movie enthusiasts should brace up for a thrilling experience”.

    House of Gold tells the story of Dan Ansah Williams, a highflying entrepreneur, business mogul, polygamist and Socialite who is battling with Cancer and has 6 weeks to live. With the help of his long time associate and legal representative he embarks on a mission to re-call all his children, most of who were born out of wedlock, back home. Dan’s last wish is to have his children all under one roof for 7 days so that they will get to know each other and be bond due to the fact that they share the same blood line. However, that reunion proves a little more than everyone bargained for as each child indeed returns with an agenda and this sets the stage for the most hilarious and bizarre 7 days of their lives.

    The flick stars Nigerian and Ghanaian artistes including Majid Michel, Eddie Watson, Yvonne Nelson, Luckie Lawson, Umar Krupp, and Nigerian musicians Omawumi Megbele, Nigeria Idol Season 2 winner-Mercy Chinwo and Ice Prince Zamani.

    IN its second edition, the Abuja Young Entrepreneurs Award is fast gaining grounds with more and more music heavyweights lining up to grace the occasion. Serenaded by the breathtaking musical performances from the Oleku crooner Ice Prince and the artistic delivery from Burna Boy, Praiz and Di’az, the audience at the 2013 edition of the AYE awards was held spellbound. Bovi and Chigul had the audience in tears with their awesome performances as the anchors of the show.

    Held at the International Conference Center Abuja, It was a one-of-a-kind event that will be remembered by so many, for many reasons; the musical performances, the awards and the networking among the upwardly mobile.

    The audience was duly welcome in an address by the founder of the award, Dr Samiah Oyekan-Ahmed while the key note speech was delivered by the Director of SMEs, Bank of Industry Mr. Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed standing in for Managing Director of Bank of Industry (BOI), Mrs. Evelyn Oputu.

    In a harmonious environment and a humorous atmosphere, the winners of the diverse categories were presented their awards. Awards were given out in a total of 13 categories with 3 honorary awards also given out to Mr. Nuhu Kwajafa (Philanthropy), Mr. Charles Igho Sanomi (Outstanding entrepreneurship, male) and Mrs. Latifat Balogun (outstanding entrepreneurship, female).
