    Ice Prince declares Abuja Africa’s number one world-class city 

    Rapper Ice Prince has declared Abuja the number one world-class city in Africa.

    The rapper, in a post on his X expressed pride in the nation’s capital, describing it as a city Nigerians have collectively built over the years.

    “As a Nigerian, I am extremely proud of the city we have all built in Abuja. Watching it grow from 1996 Abacha NTA till 2025 Wike FCT, I can confidently debate that Abuja is Africa’s number one world-class city,” he wrote.

    In a post on X, the rapper revealed that he decided to make a change after encouragement from his close friends, Chopstix and Dami.

    “God so good inna me life… A short story!!
    I was literally about to explode… no sickness (Bless God), just bad habits and choices. But then Chopstix and Dami said, ‘let’s lose the belly, Ice,’ and that really sparked something in my brain that got me activated.

    “From that meeting, my brother Chopstix started coming to my house every day after dinner and we both walked my estate for an hour… our talks during those walks are priceless to me, as every other thing we’ve both talked about since we were kids!!! Buss a shot fa ma true fren,” he wrote.

    The rapper also shared before-and-after photos showing his physical transformation, expressing gratitude for his improved health and promising fans new music soon.

    “It’s my birthday on October 30 and I will be dropping new music in my new body. Next year na full chest lol but pls note, if nature didn’t make it, pls don’t take it… Health is wealth!! See you in 3 days #HealthyLiving,” he wrote.

    Rapper Ice Prince Zamani has admitted he is still struggling with the death of his South African colleague, AKA, due to an unsettled misunderstanding between them.

    The fallout began in 2019 between the duo after AKA’s comments about Nigerians during xenophobic attacks in South Africa, which led Ice Prince to publicly call him out.

    Speaking on the G2G Podcast, Ice Prince reflected on their once-strong friendship and collaborations, expressing regret that they never reconciled before AKA was tragically shot dead outside a Durban restaurant in February 2023.

    Ice Prince said, “I wish we got to speak about it [our misunderstanding] because we never. And it hurt me so bad because that’s my friend. AKA wasn’t just an artist that I collaborated with.

    “He has been to my house in Lagos a couple of times. That’s my friend. It did hurt me that we never got to settle that misunderstanding.

    However, Ice Prince said he has found solace in prayer, revealing that he still sees AKA in his prayers and believes they’re at peace. 

    “But I have prayed about it so many times. I still see him in my prayers. Sometimes, when I’m praying I see him there. So, I know we are at peace. I know he looks out for me as one of my homeboys in heaven,” he expressed.

    Rapper Ice Prince has expressed frustration over what he tagged as disrespect in the music industry during an appearance on the Tea With Tay podcast. 

    According to him, despite his significant contributions to Nigerian and African music, he feels that many artists fail to show him the respect he deserves.

    Ice Prince highlighted some of his notable achievements, including being the first African artist to step onto the BET Awards stage to collect an award.

    He also mentioned leaving his record label, Chocolate City, without drama, unlike some of his former label-mates.

    The rapper emphasised that he creates music for the art form itself, rather than for accolades or respect. 

    He distanced himself from titles like “legend” or “king,” believing that his contributions to Nigerian and African music should speak for themselves.

    He said: “I’m the first African artist to go on a BET stage and collect the BET award. Selfless credit here. I am one of the only artists probably in the world that left his record label with no drama.

    “Pretty much there was drama with everybody. You just hear some drama.

    “I’ve done so many stuff for Nigeria, for Africa, but people always disrespect or sleep on me. I don’t make music for accolades or for respect. You see all these titles like ‘legend,’ ‘king,’ ‘OG’—I don’t even like them, like at all. You know what I’m saying? So for me, music is beyond the accolades or the awards that come with it.”

    Nigerian music star Ice Prince has opened up about some of his biggest personal and career regrets during an appearance on the ‘Konnected Minds’ podcast, revealing that many of them stem from his past decisions in relationships.

    The rapper candidly admitted to breaking hearts and making mistakes he now wishes he could undo, describing some of his past actions as “stupid stuff.”

    He reflected on having lost “amazing women” due to those choices, but said he believes everything happens for a reason.

    As he has grown older, Ice Prince said he has come to terms with his regrets and now focuses on learning from them, especially when it comes to how he relates to women.

    He emphasised the importance of growth, maturity, and not repeating past mistakes, noting that personal development is key to moving forward.

    The host asked, “What is that thing that you’ve done in the course of your career that you wish you could change?”

    Ice Prince replied, “Maybe decisions with women. I have broken a few hearts that I regret. I have messed up in some relationships that I wish I could turn back the hands of time. But everything happens for a reason. Sometimes, in life, you just have to learn from you mistakes and not repeat them.

    “As for me, I have tried to learn from every mistake I have made. I have made a lot of mistakes, especially regarding women. I have lost some very amazing angels due to some stupid stuff; stuff I could probably have avoided, girls I shouldn’t have said ‘hi’ to or follow back on social media. Some little, tiny mistakes. As you grow older, you just learn to live with the regrets.”

    Rapper Ice Prince has opened up about his struggles with smoking, revealing that his knowledge of rolling cannabis has made it challenging to quit.

    In a conversation on the Konnected Minds podcast, Ice Prince expressed regret over learning how to roll, stating that it has led to excessive smoking.

    He believed that without this skill, he might have been a more moderate smoker or possibly not smoked at all.

    Ice Prince emphasised that he doesn’t use other drugs or mix cannabis with other substances, but his ability to roll has resulted in frequent smoking, even in professional settings like the studio.

    He took pride in preparing his cannabis, refusing to let others roll for him.

    Ice Prince said: “One of the things that I wish I could unlearn is how to roll cannabis. I wish I had never learned that because if I hadn’t learned it, I would probably smoke with a bit of moderation or not even smoke.

    “But because I know how to roll, I smoke whenever I wake or in the studio. I don’t let anyone roll cannabis for me. I don’t do drugs, I don’t mix cannabis with any crazy stuff. I wish I had never learn how to roll”.

    Renowned rapper Ice Prince has hailed MI Abaga as his mentor, crediting him for teaching him the art of rap and shaping his music career.

    In a recent interview with Isbaeu on Curiosity Made Me Ask, Ice Prince spoke about his rap skills, attributing his lyrical strength and confidence to years of training under MI’s guidance.

    He described MI as a “big brother” and mentor who equipped him with the knowledge and discipline needed to excel in the industry, adding that such a foundation makes it impossible for him to deliver “wack” verses.

    Ice Prince rose to fame in 2011 with the release of Oleku, a hit track from his debut album, and has since continued to make waves with chart-topping singles and collaborations with top artists.

    He said: “I can rap on any beat, with anybody, any rapper and I will stand out. I’m not going to have a wack verse on a song,” he said.

    “I’m not saying other rappers cannot rap or do their thing but it can’t be said that I’m wack. I was brought up by the best, shout out to MI Abaga.

    “I rapped with MI for years. That’s my big brother, he taught me how to do this and he taught me well”.

    Nigerian singer Ice Prince has clarified that he, not Davido, was the first African artist to receive a BET Award on stage.

    Ice Prince won the Best International Act, Africa category in 2013, breaking the tradition of African artists being awarded backstage.

    Speaking on a recent episode of Listening, he said: “I am the first African artiste to go on a BET stage and receive an award solo… When you guys talk about it, you guys give that credit to Davido.”

    Davido, who won the same award in 2018, is widely remembered for his acceptance speech, where he called for stronger collaborations between African and US musicians.

    Singer Ice Prince has revealed the challenges he faced after losing his parents at a young age, stating how he lost his university admission due to lack of funds.

    In a recent episode of the ‘Listen’ podcast, Ice Prince, shared an account of his childhood struggles as an orphan.

    According to him, father passed away when he was just 11 years old, and his mother passed away when he was 21.

    Ice Prince shared that he worked various menial jobs to support himself through school.

    However, he struggled to pay school fees and was often forced to stay home for weeks.

    He said: “I don’t have a mother or father. I’m an only son. That’s quite tough. I was eleven years old when I lost my dad. I was about 21 or 22 when my mum passed away. And I have a huge family that depends on me.

    “I don’t have no uncle, aunty, godfather or godmother that I depend on. It has been nothing but God in my life.

    “I want people to look at my life and say if I can succeed then no one has an excuse to fail.

    “I was the guy that spent at least three weeks at home every term because of school fees. I didn’t go to the University because of N20,000. I had about two weeks to pay that money but I couldn’t raise it on time. That was how I lost the admission.”

    Ice Prince shares harrowing experience in Ikoyi prison

    Nigerian rapper and singer Ice Prince, born Panshak Zamani, has opened up about his difficult experience spending six days at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre in Lagos.

    In September 2022, the musician was remanded following allegations of assaulting a police officer.

    Ice Prince described his time in the facility as “horrible,” noting that he was treated like every other inmate and did not receive any preferential treatment.

    Despite the challenging environment, he reflected on the bonds he formed with fellow inmates, referring to prison as “a different institution of higher learning.”

    The rapper’s candid revelations highlight the emotional and social challenges of incarceration, even for public figures.

    He said: “Whatever story you were told is not what happened. The case is over now, so I can talk about it. I spent six days in jail. I didn’t get preferential treatment. It’s a prison, so there was no preferential treatment. I’m not talking about a police cell.

    “I have seen a lot of celebrities and public figures who went to police cells come out to brag as if they went through some sht. If you’ve never been to prison, you ain’t seen it yet. I can’t explain it. It’s a different world. I don’t pray for my worst enemy to experience it. You have to be careful out there because mistakes can take you there. There are so many innocent people in there. It wasn’t a good experience.

    “But I made friends in there. We hung out and chatted. It’s a different institution of higher learning.”

    Ice Prince claimed that his arrest was a misunderstanding, stating that he was joking with the police officer when he drove off during a stop-and-search operation.
