Senator blames IGP over exposure of Buhari wife’s Jeeps purchase

The Senator representing Bauchi Central, Isa Hamma Misau, on Thursday said that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, was behind the leaked document that exposed the purchase of exotic cars for the First Lady, Aisha Buhari.

Misau said that the clarification became necessary following the reportage of the presentation he made before the Senate ad-hoc committee investigating the allegations he made against the IGP ON Wednesday.

The Bauchi central lawmaker, in a statement, noted that his comment on the approval of two Prado Jeeps by the IGP for the president’s wife was in reference to court documents filed in the charge against him by the Inspector General of Police and the Attorney General of the Federation.

Misau said: “The said documents which formed part of the proof of evidence to the charge are correspondence between the Inspector General of Police and the following: the President and C-in-C of the Federation; The Chief of Staff to the President; the Director, National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies; the ADC to the Wife of the President and the Chief Personal Security Officer to the President.”

He accused the IGP of blackmailing the President’s wife and other high ranking personalities by deliberately and unethically exposing their correspondences.

Misau added: “It was indeed a shock to me, as am sure it is to other Nigerians to see such private and confidential documents with all the minutes of the President and other top government officials carelessly displayed in the public by the Inspector General of Police in manifest breach of official secrecy.

“The motive for displaying these documents is no doubt suspicious given that they have little or no bearing on the matter of inappropriate practices within the Police.

“My submission before the Senate Ad hoc Committee was simply to call the attention of members as well as the general public to how the IGP is unethically dropping names through the filing of secret documents so as to rope these top-ranking innocent personalities into the case.

“The IGP is the one who submitted the official documents mentioning the names of respected personalities, not me. I believe I need to make this clarification.”

A copy of the documents allegedly filed in court by the Inspector General of Police and the Attorney General of the Federation, which was made available to reporters, showed that the request for a Sienna vehicle and a Toyota Hiace Bus for the first lady was addressed to Ibrahim Idris and signed by the ADC to the President’s Wife, SP Sani Baba-Inna.

The request contained in the letter dated January 17, 2017, was officially approved the following day by the IGP in a handwritten minute approving the purchase of two jeeps.

  • IGP Idris manipulated his retirement age, says Misau

IGP Idris manipulated his retirement age, says Misau

The Senator representing Bauchi Central, Isa Hamma Misau, yesterday  accused Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris, of manipulating his retirement age.

Misau, who appeared before the Senate committee investigating the allegations against the IGP, told the panelists that the police boss employed  four civilians in his office with the salary of the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).

He said the police boss engaged the services of a retired police officer to handle investigation as against the code and Act establishing the Police Force, adding that all investigative cases were supposed to be under the Deputy Inspector- General of Police, DIG in Area 10, Garki, Abuja and not a retired officer.

The eight- member ad-hoc committee has Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Francis Alimikhena ( Edo North) as chairman.

He said the expected date of retirement of the IGP was fraudulently doctored on the staff list of Senior Police Officers from 3rd January to 15th January, 2019.

Misau said: “Sometime in July 2017, I was in the office of Senator Baba Kaka, Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business when a Daily Trust reporter sought my views on the information that policemen pay as much as N500,000 for Special Promotion.

“To verify this information, I called some serving police officers who confirmed to the three of us that the information was not only true, but that the amounts paid are up to N2,500,000, in addition to other information.

“I hereby forward for your consideration, the detailed terms of allegation against the Police the Inspector General of Police, 1GP and the Police Service Commission: Deployment of Policemen to Private Organisation: Between 50,000 to 100,000 policemen are routinely deployed by the Police to oil companies, oil servicing companies, banks, oil marketers, and private individuals etc, with regular payments made to the police.. While these monies are estimated to run intobillions monthly, they are however, unaccounted for.

“Today, the situation is so bad that businessmen with dubious characters and suspicious businesses now go about with full detachment of policemen and some with full convoy and blasting siren, especially in Lagos, Port Harcourt and other major cities in the country, thereby worsening the country’s policing ratio of 1 policeman to about 800 citizens as against the UN recommended ratio of 1 policeman to 400 citizens.

“Special Promotion Racketeering by the IGP and the Police Service Commission: The Police Service Commission whose main function is to recruit, train, discipline, promote and retire members of the Force, appear to have left its core mandate to indulge almost exclusively in promotion racketeering. When the IGP was appointed, 23 AIGs and above were compulsorily retired to enable him discharge his duty, showing clearly that special promotion is injustice, because it is an attempt to put junior officers above their seniors.

“Favouritism in Promotion/ Appointment of Police Commissioners: There is a lot of favouritism in the promotion/ appointment of Commissioners of Police. Junior Deputy Commissioners of Police are given Commissioner of police on acting capacity as against seniority and merit thereby blocking eligible candidates. A recent example is the present CP Lagos who is a junior DCP to two other DCPs, was now given acting CP and posted to Lagos. These acts of favouritism have eroded discipline in the Force which is the backbone of any successful organisation.

“Postings/Transfers: Transfers of Commissioners of police, State Mopol Commanders and Special Protection Unit Commanders are riddled in corruption. While there are Chief Superintendent of Police, CSPs with over 10 years’ experience. Out of 41 Mopol commanders, about 19 Mopol commanders are junior Superintendents of Police, (SP).

    “It is so bad that instead of the Commissioners of Police in charge of units, like the Police Mobile Force, Special Protection Unit, the postings and transfers are effected in the office of the IGP because of special interest;

“It is alleged that a woman Assistant Commissioner of Police who is in charge of posting and transfer at the Force Headquarters, Abuja and is known to be close to the IGP, collects money for general postings and transfers, and this is verifiable through the ACP’s account details and those of her immediate subordinate  officers and men as the money collected are usually through bank transfers

“The 1GP posted a Commissioner of police who for the past 17 years has not worked/ served in a police formation to take charge of a state. This officer who was a former Police ADC to the late former Governor Alamiesiegha, and also served under former President Jonathan, is now the commissioner of Police, Adamawa state. Foisting such officer without operational experience has been a major setback to the current administration’s fight against criminality, especially the Boko Haram insurgency. This officer enjoyed special promotions three times to become a Commissioner of police while his mates are currently Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs). Such level of operational inexperience is not only a risk to the officer himself, but also to his command and the state at large.

“Illegal Diversion of Fund By the 1GP: The IGP is alleged to have diverted the funds provided under the 2016 Appropriations Act for the acquisition of Armoured Personnel Carriers, (APC) to purchase of luxury cars without virement. And that he essentially runs the police like a personal property by applying police resources and valuable assets to personal use by his children and close associates.

“Use of Special Units to Undermine Legitimate Police Departments: The 1GP introduced a curious system where so many investigation units report directly to him. In addition to the above mentioned Units, others include IGP Response Team, IGP Monitoring Unit, and Special Investigation Panel, (SIP) which is inappropriately headed by a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police in contravention of Public Service Rules. It should be noted however that according to the police standard operation, all investigation and intelligence units are legally under the Force Criminal Investigation Department. The current situation has not only rendered the Deputy Inspector General’s office moribund, but also made the office, redundant.

“The Inspector General of Police is also in the habit of regularly withdrawing cases from the DIG Investigations / Intelligence and reassigned to junior officers loyal to him, thereby effectively undermining the Deputy Inspector General.

“Poor Attention to Personnel Welfare:  Attention is not paid to welfare and logistics need of officers and men, thereby causing low morale. The conditions in the Police Academy, Police barracks and Police Colleges are not only inhospitable but are also inhabitable. About four months ago, about 3000 policemen were deployed from 30 states to Maiduguri, Borno state for special duties, without logistics. To avoid paying the necessary allowances, signals were issued to convert the deployment to permanent transfer after three months special duty.”

  • Community writes IGP to intervene in murder case

The leaders of Umuebulu in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State have written the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, to intervene in a murder case.

The community’s petition was signed by the monarch, Eze James Nwagwu, Elder Enyiazu Okere, Chief Benjamin Nwafor, and 10 others.

They accused Daniel Njoku of killing an indigene, Mr. Mbuchi Njoku, on May 5, 2017.

The leaders alleged that a member of the IGP Monitoring Unit in Abuja, Victor Nwadike (SP), collected N20 million bribe from the murder suspect to cover up the matter.

But Daniel, in a telephone interview, described the petitioners as hoodlums and impostors, who lied against him after taking over his father’s land.

He denied killing Mbuchi, who he claimed drowned in the community river, and debunked the bribed allegation.

Nwadike, also speaking on the telephone, insisted he was innocent of the allegation and  acted professionally while handling the matter.

He said Daniel, who was arrested for the crime, was freed before he took over the matter.

Umuebulu leaders said: “We are calling on the IGP to bring to book the murderer of one of our sons (Mbuchi), in the interest of justice and put a stop to underhand activities of your men in the IGP Monitoring Unit, Abuja, who are trying to cover up the murder case.

“Daniel Njoku, on May 5, 2017, led some armed thugs and invaded Umuebulu community, shooting sporadically and injured many persons and killed Mbuchi Njoku, a father of three children, with a pregnant wife, who had been delivered of the baby.

“Rivers State Commissioner of Police Zaki Ahmed, and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Umuebulu intervened and arrested the murderer, Daniel Njoku. Autopsy was conducted and investigation has since been concluded by the Homicide Section of the Rivers State Police Command, at the instance of Zaki Ahmed, a no-nonsense and highly-professional Police commissioner, who has refused to compromise the case despite pressure from the murderer and his cohorts.

“The moment the charge was preferred against Daniel, he engaged and paid his friend, SP Nwadike, of the IGP Monitoring Unit, Abuja, who arrived Port Harcourt, took away the case file and released the murderer. On September 16, 2017, Daniel was rearrested by the police in Rivers State at his hideout in Umuebulu, but Nwadike moved to Port Harcourt and ensured his release.

“The murderer has been moving freely in Port Harcourt, claiming to have paid his way and that he settled the highest echelon of the police with N20 million, through his friend, Nwadike, who held tenaciously to the case file, to pervert, obstruct and undermine justice, despite complaints by leaders of Umuebulu against him.”

They said they had been restraining youths not to seek revenge, but that they can’t any longer.

The elders urged the IGP to order Nwadike to return the case file to Port Harcourt, to allow the Rivers command to prosecute the suspect.

Nwadike, said: “The allegations against me are false and malicious. I have laboured over the years to build a name for myself, as a police officer and lawyer. I have seen blatant falsehood against me, just because I was instructed to take over and consolidate the investigations from the Rivers State Police Command and another IGP Monitoring Unit team previously handling it, in order to ascertain the veracity or otherwise of petitions and counter-petitions from the parties.

“I am open to investigation and if they are right, I will face the consequences, but if they lied, they will also face the consequences. I am not a depraved, cash-and-carry police officer. Nobody can bribe me to turn white into black. Perhaps, that is why certain cases are referred to me, when they get controversial/contentious, because by the grace of God, I must stand by the truth.”

Nwadike also said the case file showed that SCIID granted the suspect bail on health grounds, but it appeared that the suspect failed to turn up when he was required to do so.

He said Njoku was rearrested a day after he took over, and sent a police officer to Port Harcourt to bring the suspect to Abuja, where he was detained.

  • Protect yourself first, IG tells Policemen

Protect yourself first, IG tells Policemen

The Inspector General of Police (IG), Ibrahim Idris has described as embarrassing and annoying the recent kidnap of the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Sarkin Pawa, Niger State.

The DPO, Superintendent of Police (SP) Amos Aliyu was on Sunday kidnapped around his residence at Turin Fulani by unidentified persons.
Speaking yesterday in Abuja during a meeting with Commissioners of Police and other senior Officers, the IG urged policemen to be careful and protect themselves first.
Idris also said Commissioners of Police would be vicariously liable if anything happens to any policeman under them.
He said: “There should be more visibility policing. Policemen should be deployed to flashpoint areas to take care of security because the presence of police in those areas would help in the reduction of crime.
“We must take the protection of our officers seriously. We have a problem; two days ago, one of our DPOs was kidnapped. How can you be a DPO, you have all the policemen under your Command and then you start driving as if you don’t have anybody.
“You allow the useless kidnappers to pick you and your orderly, it is very embarrassing. We had the same issue in Zamfara state where an ACP going on leave travelled alone. It is embarrassing.
“Utilize the men you have and you must protect yourself first. You can only protect others when you are protected because you are a target.
“The information we are receiving is that our ACP’s vehicle was abandoned in a bush and he has not been seen which obviously means that he has been kidnapped. How can we be living with such situation? It is becoming an embarrassment. DPOs and other personnel should be careful of their movement.
The police chief further said: “The CP Niger said there is contact already and they are working on it. Policemen who are protecting others should not allow themselves to be a target. We should be careful in our movement.
“Our officers have to be concerned about their personal safety first because this issue is becoming an embarrassment. CPs would also be vicariously liable for any policeman that is just picked up like a fowl or anything, it is very annoying.

“We should be careful in our movement. If you notice that an area is not safe, you should deploy men to those areas. We should take their protection very seriously. Our policemen should also be careful with the way they move around.
On the recent law on kidnapping, Idris said: “Nigeria Police Force is very glad about the law on kidnapping. With the law which is a death sentence for those that would be tried on kidnapping, the spate of kidnapping in Nigeria would be reduced.
The IG also disclosed that additional policemen would be deployed to join the 17 units who are already on the ground for the Governorship election.
The IG explained that the deployment which would be massive would ensure a credible election which is slated for November 18, 2017.
He said: “The major challenges we are having now are the election we would be having in Anambra state and one or two other states.
“The deployment that would be done would involve all commands. We are going to send directives to all CPs for the mobilization of officers who are the Special Unit and the Conventional police for the election.
“When you receive the directive, act on them promptly because it is going to be a massive deployment. We don’t have time to delay in our planning and deployment because the election date is too close. It is important for us to prepare so that we can provide personnel and logistics in order for the officers to perform creditably.
“It is unfortunate that before this election, we had some minor problems especially in the southeast but I believe the challenges have been addressed because we deployed 17 units there and with the additional deployment requested, we are going to take care of security in that location.”
The IG also hinted on a proper and attractive outfit for traffic wardens and policemen in charge of traffic control.
He said: “We must take care of the turnout of traffic wardens and those in charge of traffic control. Their turn out must be white. Their armband and others must be white including their cap.
“When you go to a country, some of the things you admire is the turn out of the policemen controlling traffic on the road. It adds a lot to regularization of the country. They should turn out properly and look professional. Our men should take it seriously. Especially in major cities like Kano, Port Harcourt, Lagos and, FCT.”

Gunmen kill policeman, injure one at former IGP Coomassie’s residence

Unknown gunmen on Saturday attacked the residence of former Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Coommassie, killing a mobile policeman and injuring another.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that two attackers on a motorcycle opened fire on the two policemen stationed at the gate of the residence at the about 8pm, but did not gain entrance into the house.

The attackers were however said to have escaped with the rifle of one of the policemen.

A neighbour told NAN on condition of anonymity, that the former IGP and his family members were safe.

The corpse of the deceased policeman has been deposited at the mortuary of Katsina General Hospital, where the other injured mobile policeman was receiving treatment.

The Police Commissioner in the state, Besen Dabiya-Gwana did not respond to several telephone calls, but the Command’s spokesman, DSP Isa Gambo, said the police were conducting operation on the matter.

Corruption allegations: IG urges court to stop Senate probe

The Inspector General of Police (IG) Ibrahim Idris has initiated a move to block his planned probe by the Senate over allegations of corruption and unethical conduct levelled against him by Senator Isa Misau.

He has filed a suit before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to that effect.

He listed the Senate and its president, Bukola Saraki, as respondents in the suit.

The IG in the fundamental rights enforcement suit seeks, among others, an order restraining the committee set up by the Senate for the investigation of allegations against him, from hearing or taking a decision.

Idris also wants the court to restrain the Senate President and the Senate from receiving and discussing any report submitted to it by the committee set up to probe the allegations.

The IG, in a supporting affidavit, stated that one Senator Isa Misau, while raising a matter of urgent national importance between September and October 2017, accused him of mounting roadblocks across Nigeria with the purpose of extorting money from unsuspecting motorists.

He added that the said senator, in the motion, also accused him of collecting illegal fees by way of security protections given to corporate organisations, eminent citizens and oil companies running into billions of naira.

Idris claimed that among others that Misau accused him of having “unwholesome relationship with female officers in the force”.

Quit notice to Igbo: IGP places men on red alert

    • Orders police to enforce law

The police are on red alert across the nation to nip in the bud any attempt to actualize the October 1 quit notice served on Igbo residing in the north by a coalition of Northern youth organizations.

Although the quit notice was withdrawn a few weeks back by its authors, Police Inspector General Ibrahim Idris yesterday directed all police officers and men to be ready to deal with any threat to national peace.

The full weight of the law, Idris warned, would be brought on any person or group for any unlawful act or attempt to cause disturbance of law and order and public peace in the country.

He also directed police personnel to stop the spread of hate speech and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

But he urged the personnel to be civil, polite and firm in performing their duties.

The directives were given in a in a statement through the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Moshood Jimoh.

Jimoh said:  “The 2017 Nigeria Independence celebration is scheduled to take place across the country on October 1, 2017.To this end, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim K. Idris has directed that a robust and elaborate security arrangement be implemented to ensure a hitch free and peaceful celebration nationwide.

“Similarly, the Inspector-General of Police has placed all the personnel of the Force on RED ALERT to nip in the bud any attempt by any group under whatsoever guise to cause disturbance of the peace on 1st of October, 2017 or at any other time.

“Consequently, Assistant Inspectors General of Police and Commissioners of Police in charge of Zonal and State Commands have been directed by the Inspector General of Police to be personally on ground to deploy and supervise Police Personnel on visible police patrols and police presence at strategic locations and other identified flash points within the cities, and along the highways and major roads in all states of the country and FCT to build confidence of safety in the people residing everywhere in the country.

“The Police Commanding Officers are to deploy all intelligence and personnel to make sure that the purported quit notice given to the Igbo in the North as well as the Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba in the Niger Delta region are not actualized.

“They are also to enforce the law as required to prevent the utterance of hate speech and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

“The Nigeria Police Force therefore wishes to implore parents and guardians, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, youths groups, politicians and public office holders to prevail on their children and wards, adherents, brethren, followers and supporters to be law abiding and not to allow themselves to be used to cause disturbance of public peace anywhere in the country.

“The full weight of the law will be applied on any person or group for any unlawful act or attempt to cause disturbance of law and order and public peace in the nation.

“While congratulating our dear nation, Nigeria and the good people of this great country on the occasion of the 57th Independence Anniversary, the IGP implores Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper and demonstrate love, as well as promote harmonious co-existence with our fellow Nigerians.

“To ensure adequate security and guarantee utmost protection of life and property of all Nigerians during the period of the celebration and beyond, the Inspector General of Police has directed the Commissioners of Police in all states of the federation and their supervising Assistant Inspectors General of Police in charge of Zonal Commands to carryout massive deployment of officers and men of the Force comprising conventional police personnel, Police Mobile Force, counter terrorism unit, special police forces, Force Intelligence and Investigation Department for covert and overt operations, the Police Helicopters and Police Marine Gunboats to patrol difficult terrains and riverine areas throughout the country, and the Police Mounted Troops and Dogs section for crowd control and crime prevention at venues of celebration and recreation during the period and beyond.

“The personnel deployed are under strict instructions to be civil, polite but firm in the discharge of their responsibilities. They are to pay special attention to places of celebrations, public places and other locations where people will gather to celebrate the Independence anniversary.

“Sustained surveillance and proactive crime prevention strategies will be adopted, while the ongoing raids of criminal hideouts, black spots, identified troubled spots and other vulnerable points to remove criminal elements will be continued throughout the period.”

Zoo association urges IGP to rescue colleague

The National Association of Zoological Gardens and Wide life Park has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Ibrahim Idris, to rescue Dr Andy Enehiri, who was kidnapped in Benin, on Sunday.

The association said the IGP should fish out those behind the kidnap and prosecute them.

Association President Dr Olajumoke Morenikeji told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Owerri yesterday that the abduction was unacceptable.

“We will not take this from these criminals.

“This is highly condemnable and I enjoin security agencies to ensure the safe release of our colleague,” she said.

Enehiri, the association’s national secretary and general manager of Agbo Zological Garden in Edo, was abducted on Sunday by gunmen.

The kidnappers shot dead three police officers attached to Enehiri and stole their rifles.

National Vice President of the association in Southeast and Southsouth, Mr Francis Abioye, urged Ibrahim to order his men to rescue Enehiri.

Abioye, who also condemned the abduction, enjoined Edo State to direct its security outfit to collaborate with the IGP team to rescue their colleague.

The IGP has ordered a special squad to ensure that the victim is rescued and the kidnappers arrested.

  • ‘Don’t sweep allegation against IGP under the carpet’

Bauchi politician and member of Concerned Citizens of Bauchi for Good Governance (CCBGG), a political pressure group, Comrade Babayo Abdukadir,  has urged the Federal Government not to sweep the allegations of corruption against police chief Ibrahim Idris under the carpet.

He spoke yesterday at the Nigerian Union of Journalists secretariat, Bauchi.

Abdukadir attributed the “crisis in the southeastern Nigeria to some of the challenges brought about by corruption in governance”.

He noted: “For the senator who was a senior Police officer to have confidently declared that the top hierarchy of Nigeria Police Force was collecting bribe from its officers before promoting them means, he is sure of what he was saying.”

Describing the senator’s accusation as”germaine and fundamental to the fight against corruption”, Abdukadir, who is the secretary of the CCBGG, said “if in the next three months, nothing is done about the allegation, our organisation will go to court with the IGP”.

Senator Isa Misau had claimed that the Nigeria Police top management was taking money from officers for promotion.

According to him”if highly placed public servants are not punished after thorough investigation and proven cases, such sharp practices will only lead to chaos in the society, and even destabilise the Nigeria.

“As a senior Police Officer, if he did not report at his new duty post, it was the responsibility of the Police Commissioner in Niger state to have found out why, and taken appropriate action(s)as required by the Police  processes.

“Though, the Police Service Commission(PCS) has since declared that Misau formally resigned from the Force, the IGP, is yet to apologise to  Nigerians, for his lapse.”

Quit Notice: IG places policemen on red alert

As part of efforts to ensure that the quit notice threat and counter threats issued by some groups are not actualized, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) ), Ibrahim Idris has placed policemen on red alert.

The police also said security would be beefed up across the country to ensure that lives and property are protected.

The police also urged members of the public to go about their lawful businesses adding that there was no cause for alarm.

Reacting to the recent pronouncement that the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) were terrorist organisation, the Police said whoever acts under the group would be arrested and charged to court.

Speaking with The Nation in Abuja yesterday, the Force Spokesman CSP Jimoh Moshood said: “The Inspector General of Police has before now directed that Commissioners of Police in charge of Commands and AIGs in charge of zones be ready to ensure that the threat and the counter threats are not actualized.

“The IG has placed all police personnel on red alert across the country. This means that they cannot travel and they have to be within their station so that at the beckon of the Commanding officer, they can be deployed to attend to any situation that may come up.

We are well prepared, October 1st or whatever date given, the police would beef up security across the country to ensure that both indigene and nonindigenes go about their lawful businesses because nobody has the right to tell anybody to quit or relocate.

“So, there is no cause for alarm and we have increased deployment across the country.”, he said.

Moshood also hinted that Police Mobile Force who are directly responsible for quelling riot and other crimes have been deployed to Southeast and Southsouth.

On the proscribtion of IPOB, the Force Spokesman said: “We are doing our best to ensure that any organization or group under any name are not allowed to unleash mayhem on the society.

“Our police station in Ariara market was attacked and about seven suspects have been arrested, we are still arresting more and the suspects are being charged to court”.

He further said: “Having declared IPOB a terrorist group, anybody that is a member of a proscribed organization would be arrested by the police if they come out to do things that are against law and order that can endanger lives of people.

“We are still looking for those who were responsible for burnng our Police station, some have been arrested and we would still arrest more.

“They don’t have right to operate under IPOB because the state government in that region has proscribed them and called them unlawful organisations. When you belong to such organisations and you are performing unlawful act, it would give us the power under the law to get you arrested and prosecuted.”
