IPOB will be worse than Boko Haram if not tackled – Coalition

A Coalition of Civil Society Organizations for Transparency and Good Governance has warned that the Nnamdi Kanu led Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) will be worse than Boko Haram if not urgently tackled.

The coalition noted that before its proscription by the military and southeast governors, IPOB had exhibited all the characteristics of a terrorists group to the extent that it had become the metaphor for describing the southern equivalent of Boko Haram led by Abubakar Shekau.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, the National Coordinator of the Coalition, Patriot Sabo Ode recalled Kanu had declared ‘Biafra Republic’ same as Shekau declared an Islamic Caliphate; where he called Nigerians animals like Shekau called them infidels.

He said, “Both men promised to deliver the heads of Nigerian Presidents to their declared enclaves; IPOB and Boko Haram adopted flags other than the green-white-green; they formed cabinets; they radicalised youths, they called for attacks on Nigeria and Nigerians; and they both declared the state and its military as their enemy.”

Ode said the coalition had observed that some unrepentant members of IPOB have resorted to ramping up their campaign of fake news, which they have been using to brainwash residents in south-east.

“The pseudo-online news portals they deploy for their propaganda have ramped up their farcical activities to an extent that they are now lying against foreign dignitaries in the hope that this would distract the Federal Government from its resolve to protect all Nigerians.

“The latest of such attempt is an headline “EU Condemns and Cautions Nigerian Military, Reject the Declaration of IPOB as a Terrorist Organization”. In the poorly written story cooked up to justify the lying headline, the impression was created that the President of the European Union Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker was in support of a Terrorist organisation destroying Nigeria. Unfortunately for this fake news site, the slightest fact checking reveals no such statement exists in the database of if statements issued by the EU Commission or Juncker.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the most current news about Juncker and the EU is about him doing his best to prevent BREXIT, the breakaway of Great Britain from the EU even after Britons have voted in a referendum to leave the union. Our view is that it will take a supremely illiterate persons to attempt blackmailing Nigeria with fake news while using an organization and leader that favour more countries staying together to form a super nation.”

Ode called on Nigerians not to be swayed by such lies and to take note of sites that circulate such fake news.

  • FG to block IPOB funding sources

FG to block IPOB funding sources

The Federal Government says it is aware of sources of funding of the Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB ) and is taking steps to block them.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed disclosed this on Tuesday when he appeared on a live TV programme “Good Morning Nigeria” on the Nigeria Television Authority ( NTA ).

“Terrorists do not publish where their funding are coming from. But we know the countries that are supporting IPOB.

“We know the sources of their funding though I am not at liberty to disclose them here.

“We are taking steps to block them and we are also taking a lot of diplomatic actions in respect of the countries that are supporting them”.

The Minister said that most of the countries supporting the group were doing so based on ignorance.

He said they had been hoodwinked to believing that “Nigeria is a country where Muslims persecute Christians” and a country where there is genocide.

“As we speak today, IPOB has written letters to many Governments outside Nigeria, international parliaments sending fake and cloned videos claiming there is genocide in Nigeria.

The minister charged the international community not to adopt double standard in dealing with IPOB and to be more diligent before making any pronouncements.

He said what the countries would never accept in their territories, should not be condoned or encouraged in Nigeria.

The minister justified the actions of the military for declaring IPOB a terrorist group as well as its proscription by the South-East governors.

“There are a lot of arguments regarding the constitutionality of the action of the military and the South East governors.

“People must realise that we are dealing with issue of national security and I do not think that the military and the governors should fold their arms while the country is set ablaze.

“I have heard a lot of comments as to whether the military has the right to declare IPOB, a terrorist group

“What the military has done is to catalogue all the activities of IPOB, which are not different from that of terrorists groups,” he said.

Mohammed said IPOB set up a para-military organisation, a parallel military group, Biafra Secret Service and Biafra National Guard.

He said the group were attacking army installations and soldiers at check points, extorting money from innocent people.

“IPOB activities are not jokes. If there have not been the proactive actions on the part of the military and the South East governors, there would have been retaliations from other regions and the entire country will be set on fire.

“We cannot be talking of semantics or procedure when the nation is moving towards crises and precipices.

It is only in a Banana Republic that you can see non state actors doing what IPOB is doing.

“The actions by the military and the governors should be seen from the perspective of ensuring internal security and averting chaos,” he said.

The minister reiterated his position that IPOB was being sponsored by the association of disgruntled politicians and treasury looters to discredit President Muhammad Buhari”s Administration.

He admonished the media and opinion leaders to be circumspect in their publications and discussions on IPOB in order not to aggravate the crises the more.

“The kind of comments and headlines in the media as well as comments from certain quarters are the types that give oxygen and confidence to the IPOB.

“They must exercise restraint because the only reason we practice our profession or be a commentator is simply because there is peace in the country,” he said.

  • Sagay: DHQ right to declare IPOB a terrorist organisation

Sagay: DHQ right to declare IPOB a terrorist organisation

Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) Chairman Prof Itse Sagay (SAN) yesterday backed the military’s declaration of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organisation.

He said he agreed with the Defence Headquarters’ description of IPOB as a terror group even if he was not sure whether the army complied with legal requirements in making the pronouncement.

Sagay, in an interview with our correspondent, said IPOB exhibited characteristics that justified being so described.

According to him, even if the group wanted secession, there were better ways of doing it than using abusive language and stoking violence, which he accused IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu of.

He said: “Whilst I’m not sure of the legal parameters of that declaration, in practice, I agree. If you look at it, we’re very lucky that this thing did not get out of hand.

“They (IPOB) were coming in their thousands, establishing road blocks, bringing out Northerners – for what, I don’t know – to kill some of them? If that is allowed, then the country is finished. Then they burned down a police station, killed a policeman.

“For Christ’s sake, even if you want Biafra, you don’t have to be violent. If you look at the words that Kanu uses on the social media, how he has described our President and the rest of us as living in a zoo – abusive, violent, intemperate words – kill, kill, kill, all those in my view, constitute in totality acts of terrorism in which they can push undiscerning youths into rage and violence, which can be destructive.

“You saw Moslems seeking protection in Port Harcourt. If you start killing Northerners and the North reacts, then we’ve had it.

“I just thank God that the North is showing some maturity and some sense of restraint while this is being curbed. But we really need to curb IPOB, otherwise they will turn this country into a tinderbox.”

Sagay said he would not stop expressing his views on issues of national importance despite the Senate asking President Buhari to call him to order.

When reminded that the All Progressives Congress (APC) also once cautioned him about his criticisms of the National Assembly, the law professor described the party’s leadership as “a failure”.

He said: “As for the leadership of the APC, I think they are the most unprincipled group of people. They are lily-livered, weak, and cannot run any organisation. The whole party is collapsing under them. They cannot control anybody.

“In fact, they’re now encouraging and accepting ‘rogue elephants’, pampering people who are destroying the party, saying ‘let’s not annoy them too much’, but they’re destroying the APC house.

“So, I think the APC leadership is weak, is too compromising and is certainly a failure as far as I’m concerned.”

Sagay said the war against corruption could not be won without committed judges.

He accused some judges of “deliberately” sabotaging the crusade by obstructing justice.

His words: “We are very concerned about the judiciary. Without the judiciary, we can kiss the anti-corruption war goodbye. We must have a committed judiciary, otherwise they will keep messing up any case that comes. It’s so easy to give a reason, which will appear to be reasonable, and the public will say the anti-corruption agencies have not done their homework. It’s not so.

“Quite a number of the judges are deliberately taking decisions which I’d say indicate their hostility to the anti-corruption war. There are judges who are hostile. There are judges who interfere when such cases are going on, using their position to ensure that government loses.

“Government is aware of all this. It’s just that some of us are not in a position to take decisions. People who should be stopped are slipping through and still being relevant when in fact they should be pushed aside into retirement where they will not interfere in the anti-corruption struggle.

“There are reports on these judges, some by the Department of State Services (DSS). I feel that judges who are not committed to the eradication of corruption should be eased out of the system.”

Sagay said he stood by his assertion that the Senate was self-centered and unsupportive of the anti-graft war.

“One of the most critical Bills pending before them – the Special Crimes Court Bill – was yet to be passed,” he said.

The PACAC chairman said it was rather the Senate that owed him an apology for abusing him for speaking the truth.

“I didn’t abuse them. I merely said they’re not committed to the Nigerian people, that they’re there for themselves alone. I provided the figures to show it. I know the worse exists.

“There are certain things I didn’t say. I did not even mention what the Majority Leader, Deputy Senate President and Senate President get as extras. Those extras run into hundreds of millions of naira. What I said at that lecture is a tip of the iceberg.

“Our aim is for the National Assembly to finally admit that they’re frittering away our national assets and preventing these funds from being used for various other vital sectors to create more employment and fix infrastructure.

“If you recall, former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Lamido Sanusi said they were consuming 25 per cent of our budget. They didn’t deny it. Instead, former President Jonathan forced Sanusi out.

“If we look at the senators’ allowances, we should ask ourselves questions. Should we be the ones clothing senators? Should my tax be used in hanging agbada on a senator?

“How many times has government provided clothes for workers? But these men who are overpaid are still asking us to clothe them as if they arrived in Abuja naked.

”These same people ask us to pay them hardship allowance for doing their job. What of the man who is earning N18,000 a month, who operates machinery and sweeps the streets? No one pays them hardship allowance!”

“Yet, people who live in tremendous luxury get paid hardship allowance running into billions. Why are Nigerians quiet about it? I don’t understand it,” Sagay said.

On the Senate’s refusal to confirm Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Acting Chairman Ibrahim Magu, Sagay said it was the President’s exclusive prerogative to decide how long he remains in office.

“Magu can act indefinitely. The Senate does not have jurisdiction in this matter. It is the President who does because of Section 171 of the Constitution. This government is being a bit gentle, not wanting to ruffle feathers. Maybe that’s why they’re politicians and in government.

“If people like me who are not politicians were there, these people (senators) would have heard a different message. I’d have rammed things through and damned them to go and do whatever they like, and let’s see who would come on top.

“I believe that ultimately, righteousness, a good cause, a belief in principle will prevail. We’re dealing with people who are undergoing all sorts of investigations; they cannot face the righteous.”

Military begins gradual withdrawal from Aba

The Nigerian Army has commenced gradual withdrawal of its men stationed at various checkpoints in Aba after the recent clash with protesting  members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that on Sunday, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu told newsmen in Umuahia that the military on Operation Python Dance II had withdrawn from the state.

However NAN investigation on Monday showed that only few of the new military checkpoints mounted in the commercial city had been dismantled.

The five military checkpoints mounted on the busy Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway had been reduced to three.

Emeka Chukwuma, a tricycle operator and resident of the city, told NAN that the checkpoints were causing traffic gridlock.

He appealed to Gov. Ikpeazu to prevail on the military authority to remove the checkpoints to ease traffic.

Meanwhile, activities are gradually returning to normal in Aba after the clashes between the military and IPOB members.

Markets have re-opened after the five-day dusk to dawn curfew imposed on the city by the governor.

IPOB: Saraki faults South-East Govs, Army over proscription

President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, says Nigerian Army’s branding of Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB ) as a terrorist organisation is unconstitutional.

Also unconstitutional, according to him, is the proscription of the group by the governors of South-East states.

Saraki, in a 10-point statement on Monday in Abuja, said the pronouncements by the governors and the military did not follow due process.

He said that such declarations would not take effect because the laws had made clear provisions for taking such actions.

“I am sure the President will do the needful by initiating the right process.

“This will go a long way in demonstrating to the world that we are a country that operates by laid down process under every circumstance.

“So, those who have been hammering on this point should maintain their cool,’’ he said.

While commending the military for their efforts in restoring peace to different parts of the country and sustaining the unity, he urged it to be guided by their training in the face of provocation.

According to Saraki, military training emphasises respect for human rights, even in war situations.

He added that given the nature of the situation in the South East, the military should have been hesitant in the use of force.

The president of the senate urged the executive not to over-stretch the military, adding that “we need to protect our military against dissipation of their fighting strength.

“This means we need to strengthen the police and equip them with the capacity to deal with civil crisis.

“That is why we in the National Assembly are already reviewing the Police Act and  looking at possibility of enabling other para-military agencies to help curb civil unrest and maintenance of law and order.’’

He said that the national assembly would embark on a fact-finding investigation aimed at determining what happened during the military exercise in the South-East.

Saraki said that it was to enable it sift the facts from the fiction and determine who did what, adding that all the facts were not yet known.

He assured Nigerians that there would be no cover-up, saying that all facts would be laid bare.

He called for calm and restraint by all Nigerians to provide the right solution to the current problem rather than worsening it.

The president of the senate further urged the people of the South-East to continue to maintain peace and tranquility and go about their lawful business.

He explained that if allowed to continue, the crisis would only expose innocent people to unwarranted danger.

He commended Nigerians in other parts of the country who had worked to ensure that the crisis did not spread beyond the South-East.

Saraki called for peace and stability to ensure that Nigerians, irrespective of religion, tribe and creed, remained protected and safe under the law.

“It is also important that commentators and purveyors of information on all media platforms should be conscious of the need, at all times, to maintain the unity of the country.

“Therefore, they must refrain from circulating information that has the potential for aggravating the crisis.

“We should all realise that Nigeria is all we have.

“It is therefore in our individual and collective interests not to stoke the fire of crisis and fan the embers of discord through the messages we spread.

“We must all protect and strengthen our country rather than contributing to her collapse and disintegration.

“We want to remind Nigerians that the reason for constitution review by the National Assembly was to enable us look into issues that are agitating the minds of Nigerians and creating tension among us.

“We have promised that the exercise will be continuous. We intend to keep that promise by further taking decisions that will strengthen and improve on our structures,’’ he said.

Saraki assured that the national assembly would on resumption, play its constitutional role by addressing all issues agitating the minds of Nigerians.

He called on political, religious and traditional leaders to continue to engage with the people on the need to maintain peace.

  • Kanu has lost control of IPOB – S/East governors

Kanu has lost control of IPOB – S/East governors

The South East Governors Forum said Saturday that its Friday’s decision to proscribe the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) followed its realization that Nnamdi Kanu had lost control of the group.

Besides,it said IPOB had lost focus of its original idea and had veered off into causing unnecessary tension and killing.

The result is that investors are scared from doing business in the region.

Throwing light yesterday  on the  forum’s decision, its chairman and Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi  said IPOB’s activities were unduly heightening tension in the Southeast and the governors had no choice than to halt the trend.

Umahi spoke to reporters in Abakaliki.

He said tension had since eased as the proscription began to achieve the desired result.

“The activities of IPOB in the Southeast have denied us of foreign investments and it is very important that our people should understand that and should know that,” he said.

“There are things you do that you have control over and so you work about things you have control over and leave the rest that you don’t have control over.

“ Nobody wants to come to a place that is under tension that’s why we want keep pressing Hong peace.”

The governor said that  based on evidence before him, soldiers  did not attack IPOB last Sunday as claimed by Kanu.

On the contrary, according to him,it was IPOB members who threw bottles and stones at soldiers who were passing by Kanu’s street.

“When you start  a small fire, it can go very far and become difficult to control,” he said.

“The IPOB activities were gradually getting out of control of Nnamdi Kanu.

“ Soldiers were passing when IPOB members started throwing stones and other objects at them and it sparked off the clash between the group and the military.”

He narrated how an IPOB sympathizer sent out the telephone numbers of Southeast governors,Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and others.

“And all our people could do was calling us to insult us and  talk to us anyhow,” the governor fumed.

“These are people that never experienced  any war in their lives.”

He said the lives of Northerners and other non indigenes in the state and the Southeast zone must be guaranteed at all times and  warned that security agencies had been directed to deal decisively with anyone attempting  to cause a breach of the peace.

“Our focus is how to save the life of every Nigerian. We believe in a united Nigeria. Lives of people are involved and we must not play politics with that”, he said.

“Anybody that wants to foment trouble must be crushed and I want the security agencies to beef up security around all the non-indigenes in the state and to report to me of any problem because we must maintain the peace.”

The governor asked  Igbo youths to stop insulting President Muhammadu
Buhari and leaders of the country.

He said that  the Northern Governors will soon visit the Southeast to further ease tension in the country and promote national unity.

A similar visit to the North will be undertaken by Southeast governors.

He maintained that the majority of Igbo are opposed to  secession from Nigerian and that all they want is  to be treated fairly and justly in the county.

His words:”That is why we are all talking about restructuring.

“There is no part of this country that is not feeling marginalized somehow and that is why all the zones are setting up committees on restructuring.”

Umahi however noted that injustice or marginalization should not be an excuse for  secession, maintaining that dialogue should be the best way to resolve and redress all differences.

On operation Egwu Eke II (Python dance II), the governor said the exercise was never targeted at IPOB but intended to curb crime, especially kidnapping and armed robbery, in the zone.

Heads of security agencies in the state and some Principal Officers of the state government attended the briefing.

Police to arraign 37 suspected IPOB members in court on Monday

The Abia State Police Command of Nigeria Police Force on Saturday disclosed that it has arrested 37 suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who were reportedly arrested during the unrest in Abia State would face prosecution.

While 30 were reportedly arrested by soldiers along Isiala Ngwa area of the state, seven persons were allegedly amongst the arsonists that burnt and looted Ariaria Police Divisional Headquarters in Aba, the commercial nerve center of the state at the early hours of Friday.

This was disclosed by the State Police Commissioner, Anthony Michael Ogbizi who took Inspector General of Police Team led by AIG Operations, Force Headquarters Taiwo Lakanu that arrived the state on Friday with about 500 Mobile Policemen deployed to the state by the IGP, Idris Ibrahim Kpotum to access the level of damage on Ariaria Police Division.

Ogbizi stated that the suspects would be arraigned in court on Monday while investigation into the matter would continue, adding that efforts were ongoing to track others that were still at large.

The suspects, it was gathered were arrested through intelligence gathering by the combined team of the IGP team and officers of the NPF that were on ground in Aba.

Ogbizi further disclosed that Improvised Explosive Device (IED); Petroleum Bomb (Bottle containing fuel, pieces of broken glasses and other dangerous materials) were equally recovered from Nnamdi Kanu’s house by the army and has since handed such over to the police.

He added that the Station Officer, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, who sustained serious injuries after he was attacked by the arsonists, died early hours of today in an undisclosed hospital where he was receiving medical attention.

He used the opportunity to warn anyone sponsoring IPOB to desist from such especially now that the group has been declared a terrorist group and stressed that anyone caught would be tried according to the stipulations of the terrorism act.

“You recall that on the 10th and 14th of this month, the very police division was attacked by IPOB members. They came in droves in early hours of the day. They forcefully broke the entrance zone and destroyed almost everything.

“They were armed with petrol bomb. They burnt police vehicles and carted away three pump actions and other police materials. Some officers were injured and in fact as I’m talking to you, one of the injured police officer, an ASP is dead. The doctors tried their best to save him, but they couldn’t. Now, we have lost a soul. And you know what it takes to train a police officer. And you know the vacuum created. Once a police officer is gone, it takes a minimum of one year to train another

The seven we arrested will be charged for murder, arson and conspiracy for breach of the law.

“Simultaneously, they carried other attacks on law abiding citizens of this nation. You could see along the road the destruction of vehicles belonging to citizens. Certainly you cannot say that that is a peaceful demonstration. I think this attack was orchestrated to get arms which they succeeded in doing. Thank God the police succeeded in securing other arms. They attacked a bank may be with the intention to get more money to buy arms.

“IPOB going to that extent cannot be said that it is a non-violent movement. While this one was happening here, along the road in Isiala Ngwa, the same IPOB members in droves confronted the military and the military was able to arrest up to 30 of them.

“They will be prosecuted for rioting and unlawful assembly and other things. While that was going on, the same IPOB carried attack of various manner in Umuahia and even tried to collect a riffle from a female military officer. In the processes, the military resisted and was able to arrest 19 of them.

“At the same time, along the road leading to Umuahia, they set up bonfire attacking the police and innocent citizens and pulled out traffic stands. The vicinity where the Attorney General of the State, Assistant Inspector General Zone 9, Commissioner of Police, and other residents live. They attacked the quarters of the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 9 and that of the Commissioner of police.

“And the house of the self-acclaimed leader of IPOB, Nnamdi KANU was the house they usually come out from to carry out these attacks and information reaching us is that they have started gathering there. Many exhibits were recovered from there like, petrol bomb and coat of arm of Biafra.

“I know that 90% of Abians are not in support of this, but a few hoodlums and some others from other states operating under the disguise of IPOB with the motive to cripple the economy of Abia. If this is not planned, how could they come in droves to carry out these attacks? At time, a mobile patrol vehicle was moving and IPOB members poured petrol on the van with intend to burn it. Imagine if that was successful. I’m glad that eastern governors have proscribed the organization.

“And any individual, or group of individual operating under the disguise of IPOB with Biafran flags and any other materials will be arrested and prosecuted. You test they law of the state. They state is superior. IPOB has grown up to this level, and it must be stopped. And because it has been proscribed, any individual, that aid, council, finance, harbour all these hoodlums as IPOB will be prosecuted. Even those who instigate by their speech, action and conduct bring breach of peace will be prosecuted. This place is calm as IGP has deployed 500 mobile police men to put things in order here. As you can see, we are beefing up security.”

On the allegation by the IPOB that security agents whisked away Nnamdi Kanu’s father and some members of the IPOB leader’s family, Ogbizi said “We don’t have Nnamdi Kanu’s father in police net”, but however accused Nnamdi and his brother, Prince Emmanuel of feeding the public with fake information which he asked the public to disregard.

Sultan calls for calm as tension escalates in states

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III Friday called for calm as tension heightened   in the country following the faceoff between the military and supporters of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The  Sultan Abubakar who doubles as the head of the Nigerian Muslim community,  at a press conference in Kaduna, urged imams in all mosques nationwide to preach peace in their sermons with a view to dousing  tension in the country.

Represented by the Secretary General of Jaamatul Nasir Islam (JNI) , Dr Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, the Sultan  said  what Nigeria needs  now is for its citizens to unite and join hands with government to address the economic challenges facing the country.

According to him, while every Nigerian has the right to protest, it must be done within the ambit of the law.

He asked government to rise up to its responsibility by ensuring the safety of Nigerians nationwide.

“Nobody should be seen to be above the law”, he said and urged parents and leaders in the country to call youths to order.

Speaking on the increasing rate of hate speeches in the country, the Sultan urged the federal government to hasten the passage of anti-hate speech law to bring perpetrators to book.

Attack on IPOB members ethnic cleansing – Fayose

Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has described the crackdown on members of the separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the Southeast as “ethnic cleansing.”

Fayose accused President Muhammadu Buhari of bringing the full weight of military might on the Biafra agitators while suspected Fulani herdsmen unleashing terror in some parts of the country are left unchecked.

Describing the Nigerian military as “army of occupation,” Fayose called on the Federal Government to stop what he called “reckless abuse of human rights” in the Southeast.

The Ekiti governor spoke on Friday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, while hosting the state People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Elders’ Caucus led by former Deputy Governor, Chief Paul Alabi, who came to express their support for the adoption of the deputy Governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, as the “sole candidate” for the 2018 governorship poll.

Fayose said: “I have said it earlier that this is beyond (Nnamdi) Kanu. That region entirely is embattled and challenged. But you know politics, time will tell.

“The wind blowing away your wife will blow you away one day. The wind blowing away your enemy today may blow you say one day. It is unfortunate that the Ibo people are suffering this kind of fate.

“The herdsmen wreaking havoc all over, and killing, what has the military done to deal with them. Has anyone of the herdsmen been prosecuted let alone giving them this kind of treatment.

“You went to court to revoke Kanu’s bail but you can’t even wait for the court to take decision before occupying his house. Nigeria is in trouble except the Lord helps us. When the wicked are in authority, the people suffers, when the righteous are there, the people rejoice.

“We are in a major dilemma. Buhari coming back to power as I have said before is like returning to the dark days of the 1984 in no time, because they want to gag Nigerians they came up with law against hate speech.”

He added: “I have said it before now that it is only God that can help the Igbo people. What I see going on the is ethnic cleansing, when you see the video clips of that occupation the behaviour of the soldiers it leaves much to be desired.

“But they cannot act like that without a whistle blower, somebody is behind them telling them go and cleanse the people. That is recklessness; human rights violation in Nigeria today is second to
none. And I hope the international community would not be quiet on this. It is unfortunate.”
